Summer NINJAGO sets announced!
Posted by CapnRex101,
LEGO has announced the new Dragons Rising range, consisting of fourteen sets! The press release follows:
Today, the LEGO Group is revealing the new, merged realms of LEGO NINJAGO with brand new characters, products, and an animated TV show created with Epic Games' Unreal Engine. The products and TV show are launching June 1st.
“We wanted to create a new LEGO NINJAGO world with exciting characters and elements that invites new fans in and stays true to the iconic legacy. So, as well as welcoming back our well-known ninjas, we are equally excited to introduce new fantastic ninjas and dragon characters. This follows research we did with kids back in 2021, which showed they really wanted dragons to be front and centre of the new story.” says Nigel Kong, Head of Product for LEGO NINJAGO.
Introducing new ninja characters Sora and Arin, and a baby dragon character Riyu. The new generation of NINJAGO characters will come together and must unlock their true potential to find the well-known ninjas, who have gone missing in a new world of merged realms. The ninjas will need all the help they can get to defend the source dragons who will unite their world forever or destroy it completely.
After 12 years of storylines, villains, character dilemmas across 15 TV seasons and 215 episodes aired in 191 countries and translated into 26 languages, a movie, mini-movies, video- and app games, more than 200 million LEGO NINJAGO sets sold, magazines, books, colouring books, graphic novels, trading cards, merchandise, clothing collaborations with cool brands, golden minifigures, 10th Anniversary sets, hotel rooms, a LEGOLAND park ride, and a huge fan community – the world of LEGO NINJAGO is reaching new heights.
Show and sets coming June 1st
The brand-new LEGO NINJAGO: Dragons Rising TV show is coming to broadcast channels and streaming services around the world from June 1st. Part 1 airing in June consists of 10 episodes of 22 minutes each, while part 2 with an additional 10 episodes will be released in the fall. The show has been created with Unreal Engine, which enabled the team to be more collaborative and creative in the animation process, and to reach a higher visual quality than ever before. Find more information on show availability on www.LEGO.com.
We rise! The LEGO Ninjago Dragons Rising sets are on sale from June 1st, 2023, on www.LEGO.com/NINJAGO and globally in LEGO stores and other retailers, including selected stores in USA.

Destiny's Bounty looks amazing from the angle shown in those pictures. What about from the rear, or underneath? What about the interior?
71795 Temple of the Dragon Energy Cores looks very nice!!
I do like that dark green used in Lloyds mech.
71795 Temple of the Dragon Energy Cores Looks like a great set, and will look good in my Ninjago district. Hopefully is available at Smyths or Amazon on a discount by Christmas
Best (flying) Destiny's Bounty yet!
If only all these ninja and their friends had some huge 'Markets' to visit...

Now then. THAT is an insight into sales we never see!
71794 Lloyd and Arin's Ninja Team Mechs KEETONGU !!
This is so good, I love pretty much everything I see here (except the 4+ stuff, to no one’s surprise)! So many amazing dragons, a lovely temple, a MECH WITH SANDALS HOLY CRAP, transforming features, a weird gimmick that’s not just limited to gimmick sets but spread across several sets with different integrations? I wanna know what that’s all about, and finally, the standouts for me personally, INCREDIBLE minifigs. Man oh man do I love those claw guys! All the villains look awesome though. The new hood piece is gonna take some getting used to but I think it’s a cool look. All the freaky eyes that the original ninja have under them are super cool too, I wonder if there’s an explanation for their ‘elevated’ elemental status in the show or of that’s just some cool fig design. Am I getting these? Well… maybe. Depends on my budget. But there’s definitely a few ‘wants’ here. Whoops I’m rambling already, thanks for coming to my TED talk.
So many beautiful minifigs everywhere... I like the new two parts hoods, baby dragons, vibrant colors on the whole... Curious to discover the Bounty's secrets, as secrets there must have.
I don't understand why Ninjago needed new characters. But at least they didn't cancel the originals like Friends. I'm not a Ninjago fan, but these new sets seem more Monkie Kid than Ninjago to me. Not a fan at all. (note that although I don't collect Ninjago I respect it as a lego theme and do like how some of the sets look)
The sets themselves look fantastic, but I am a little disappointed that there’s only 2 new Ninjas. It’s not exactly much of a new generation. I was expecting something more like what they did with the Friends reboot.
For a theme that claimed to be focusing on new characters, that’s a lot of Kai and Lloyd
Very pleased with the selection (sets and minifigures) in particular destiny bounty, temple and mech bike as well as commanders and hunters.
It is true the boundaries btw Ninjago and Monkie Kid are blurring with this wave.

Well, they’re not going to cut out their two biggest cash cow characters, are they? I just hope the Lava Dragon and Jiro (the “Elemental Dragon”) don’t bond with Kai and Jay in the series as the sets make it look like they will. Those two already have more dragon sets than the other Ninja, as does Lloyd.
Nice to see Nya get a gimmick set again at long last and another dragon, though once again she misses out on a vehicle. I wish Legacy hadn’t ended so we could get a set of her original Elemental Dragon. I know Jay’s Elemental Dragon set is supposed to be a combination of his and hers story wise, but it looks purely Jay to me. Cole’s neglected again as well, but at Zane is getting a car.
That new Temple seems nice, but it looks terrible when it comes to value, especially compared to 71767 Dojo Temple.
Really a shame how greedy they are getting.

I wholeheartedly agree. Those minifigs and baby dragon really steal the show.
Otherwise, all I can say is... nice balls!
I like the temple and wolf. I'm not convinced about the dragons and mechs. They seem a bit thin on first viewing. I do love the mech's traditional footwear!
Wow.. really cool stuff. The lightning dragon? Sold. The temple? Give it to me. Dark green mech with yellow baby mech? Sure.
Even the bad guys stuff is pretty cool, especially the wolf.
It's nice that lego finally manages to make transformable/combinable vehicles, dragons and mechs across the board! Next step: make it possible to combine things from different sets. ;)
Transforming? Well they've certainly got my attention.
Is Wyldfyre Wyldstyle from the Lego movie?
Best looking run since the movie.
The mech bike reminds me of the Motoslave from Bubblegum Crisis. Sold!
@Iguanaboy doubtful; just similar names. And Wyldstyle’s real name is Lucy, whereas for all we know Wyldfyre is actually named Wyldfyre.
@Leibowtz92 don’t you mean Motoboba Fett’s Starship?
71795 Temple of the Dragon Energy Cores - ideal display companion for 70751.
Don’t normally dip into Ninjago standard sets, but 71795 is beautiful
RIP Jay you will be missed. I can't believe Jay isn't in any of the set's.
Transforming mechs? Wow I am all over this!
Probably gonna need more dragons, though.

Jay is in two of the sets though..

Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated.
I think I've finally found the superior version of 70602 in 71796... Oh man why does Ninjago keep tempting me with incredible dragons when I already have 71774...
Curious to see how well those, erm... balls performs. Hopefully smooth and fluid like the roller coaster system. I've been wanting parts like these to make futuristic cars and vehicles that can move in any direction for years.
The sets look great! I love the new dragons and minifigs. We also have two characters now with arm printing. I'm probably going to skip these sets and pick up the polybag instead. It looks like a much better wave than crystalized though. I'm curious if Wyldfyre is a part of the Monkie Kid realm...
Would probably get 71792 for the new characters plus baby dragon.
These are really great. It does feel make me feel old though- I was in the exact target audience for the first Ninjago sets back in 2011, and now they’re revamping the line as I enter adulthood.
the new destinies bounty is looking good
There's a couple of good ones here: The temple would have to be my favourite, but I'm quite surprised to say that I like the Mech Bike Racer as well. I'm a little burnt out from LEGO Ninjago mechs, but it's a nice way to get the new minifigures and the build looks a little more unique than before.
That's all I really have to say, and I doubt I'll get any of them.
What color are those panels on Lloyd’s mech? Copper?

Looks like Dark Orange, but the sticker makes it look extra reflective.
I got a little irritated reading that press release, as the proper plural of "ninja" isn't "ninjas." It's "ninja." Grammatical nitpicking aside, these are nice! Not sure if I'll get 71792 or 71793, but I do love transforming Lego sets. (One reason I loved Alpha Team: Mission Deep Freeze so much.) Loving the geta sandals on 71794.
Those 10- er, $11 Dragon Power things are giving me some vaguely Chima vibes, with the colored orbs, you know?
71794 is that you, 88755 Keetongu?
It also gives me some 2007 Exo-Force vibes with the smaller detachable mech. It's not full on an exo suit like the 72004 Tech Wizard Battle or 8557 Exo-Toa. But it's nice! There's even waist articulation!
Love the temple!
And I'll never get the mecha-thing but that bubblegum transformer trike thing is bonkers in a good way. I'd say this is my favourite Ninjago year since the sky pirates.
Couple of things: the Bounty's dragon can slot in the front to form the figurehead/turret, Zane's car can do 360s with the balls, electro dragon has weird proportions, the Temple's interior is like 2-3 studs deep, Lloyd and Arin mechs combine (really hope they continue this trend of slim, unique mechs started by 71785), and the bike mech in bike form doesn't look half bad.
Hope that baby dragon shows up eventually on PAB. That's the only thing I'm Interested in from this theme.
I haven’t bought a Ninjago set in awhile but I NEED Sora’s Mech Bike, so cool!
It's Aaron @CapnRex101 A-A-R-O-N, Aaron!
Jump up, flip back, drift around and spin! And then we jump back do it again. Ninja go! Ninja, come on, come on, come on and do the weekend flip!
It's good to see that they are doing the cheaper sets of something else than just spinjitsu for a change! Also, 71792 really appeals to me. It's a cheaper way to get all three of the main characters and it's a transforming set that looks great in either form!
It's a shame to hear that the villain isn't Krux after all. It's a new guy called Rapton instead. I would have prefered Krux's return though.
71795 Temple of the Dragon Energy Cores and 71796 Elemental Dragon vs. The Empress Mech look like the best sets in the wave, personally. Also, that baby dragon piece is pretty cool!!
Between this and Monkey Kid my wallet is going to cry. Is it only me but does the Empress Mech from 71796 look like something from Warhammer 40K?
Besides the baby dragon, BrickLink, nothing calls out to me.
Is it just me or the Empress Mech looks like sister of battle in disguise?
@bheil said:
"Is it just me or the Empress Mech looks like sister of battle in disguise?"
It's not just you. I instantly thought Warhammer 40K the moment I saw the set.
Some of the prices on these suck, but overall it’s a pretty great wave. The figures are amazing! The Elemental Dragon vs. The Empress Mech is probably my favorite of the wave, but it’s a little steep at $130. Hopefully I’ll find some of these on sale.
But where is the remake of 70505 Temple of Light?
@MeisterDad said:
"But where is the remake of 70505 Temple of Light?"
They haven't really been doing remakes anymore since the "Legacy" subtheme ended.
Some of these sets have goof ideas, temple looks nice but because its so flat inside (2 studs wide???) Its a joke. Only good set for me would be 4+ one
Sora is the new Akita
I think ninjago is getting kinda stale and I wish they would really stop with the weird pricing for all the sets and give us better value because some sets are really overpriced! I love the temple of dragon cores but it’s very empty inside which sucks :(
71796 Elemental Dragon vs. The Empress Mech looks so awesome!
