That is an amount of money that is not small for what you get.

Ok.

(That's my reaction to every technic set nowdays.)

By in Romania,

The BMW is 50€ more than it should be, so i guess this one is 70€ more. It somehow stings less being 20€ cheaper than rumored, i guess? You can buy a pullback for that. I have seen the parts leak and the gearbox mechanism is impressive, but the overall look in the renders makes it look barebones.

By in Moldova,

Man, that price is a lot! Only 10$ cheaper than BMW but 500 pieces less. And I'm not even saying that BMW was 200$ at the release.

Gravatar
By in United States,

This is rumored to have some game-changing new transmission parts, so those and the big wheels better make up for that PPP!

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

Not that I'm going to buy anything like this, but for that price, someone better handpaint those panels. Stickers is just insane. I feel for anyone who actually wants this, because you are getting HOSED.

Gravatar
By in Switzerland,

Looks good.

On an unrelated note, I am surprised a lego terminator set has not been created yet.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

This looks excellent. I was very tempted by 42130 but was put off because it was just too big to display well with any other motorcycles. I think that problem is now solved!

By in United Kingdom,

Another overpriced set, why are TLG being so greedy and the 10p a piece has been has well and truly been exceeded

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

At least this solves the sticker issue that heavily plagued the BMW. Not nearly as many, and unlike on that one they hardly look essential here. And those golden shocks are a thing of beauty!

But other than that I feel this is pretty underwhelming. Sounds like the exact same features, and while I think this look fits Technic better, the color scheme makes it look rather bland. And even when it's a naked bike, everything is still pretty much hidden.

Also, one very distinguishing feature of the real thing is the shape of the frame, which seems pretty much absent here. I think they could have done a much better job with some System pieces. It's not like they didn't use those elsewhere...

And then there's the price :-(

By in United Kingdom,

Wow.

I know nothing about motorbikes, and less than nothing about this particular one, but it looks great to me. There will be people who are able to spot inaccuracies or out of proportion details, but as a non-specialist I think this is very impressive.

(and now, after reading and being influenced by the other comments...)

You could buy a real motorbike for that money!

By in Germany,

Way to expensive, looks kinda neat, shouldn't be a technic set in the first place!

Gravatar
By in United States,

That price is — extravagant.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

The BMW is now $250 btw, which is just insane, so is the price of this model. A third of the pieces are small pins and axles and chain links.

Gravatar
By in France,

One day LEGO will make a blue set but will use black pins instead.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

It's kind of disheartening to see a Technic set on a display stand. To me anyway, Technic should be about exploring the mechanisms and functions built into the set. This set doesn't look like it has many actual functions at all. Still, hopefully the review will prove me wrong

Gravatar
By in Poland,

It should cost much more. 230 euro for 1478 pieces is not enough.

Gravatar
By in France,

just a few years ago, a 4000 pieces technic set was the same price. (and you could easily find them discounted)

Gravatar
By in Slovenia,

meh... i wonder if lego is going to make every car, bike, excavator, tractor... in lego form? hyperproduction will kill lego.

my prediction:

the end of lego will happen with the death of genX.

Gravatar
By in Brazil,

Nah, thanks. I will stick with my 8838, 8810 and 8210.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Ouch on the price...I think I'll wait until it goes on sale to buy it, or maybe not at all.

Gravatar
By in United States,

STICKERED PLAQUE >:((((((((((((((((

Gravatar
By in United States,

The Yamaha MST3K? That's a bike I've never heard of before.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

A bit of a step up from the Yamaha FS1-E that everone had when I was at school!

Gravatar
By in United States,

240??? What are they thinking??

Gravatar
By in United States,

I am into motorcycles, however, I cannot justify the exorbitant price of this model. Perhaps if I didn’t collect so many other LEGO themes. If the price point was closer to the Ducati Panigale VR4, I’d definitely buy.

While a terrific bike, the Yamaha MT-10 doesn’t seem to have much cachet, at least in the US.

Err, this Yamaha is virtually the same size as the BMW from last year; it's still really big compared to the other bike models."

Yes I know... precisely my point! There are now 2 that will look good together.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

The real MT-10 is ugly as a busted pie but actually looks ok in Lego form.

This is the SP model so you get the Öhlins suspension. That’s probably why it costs so much.

Yes I made a joke.

Ahh I gotcha, I misunderstood, I thought you skipped the BMW cos it didn't fit with the other smaller bikes; I didn't clock that you got that bike!"

I didn't get it... but I will now as there's something to go with it. (and often cheaper now!)

Gravatar
By in United States,

That is beautiful. - Very expensive though

I won’t be getting this because of the price and I don’t have space to display this.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

This is not the "Technic" you're looking for.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Bold of lego to make something that's not a car though.

Although.. Bikes are just trunkless open cars with two wheels and with their innards rearranged ;)

They think: some people will buy it right away at any price, and others will wait for discounts, which still give plenty of profit. At least, I don't think they seriously believe $ 240 / €230 is reasonable.

By in Singapore,

Gravatar
By in Slovakia,
