Agree with the thehornedrat. Just because it's available in the UK does not mean it's available everywhere else yet.

If like the Mars rover that may have only been available for 10 days on from shop @home, its now on the shelves in half the stores in Australia, a rush may not be that necessary (especially since the stores have sales that would have saved me a bucket load of money if I had waited). It's actually made me skeptical of any claims of being exclusive now.

You already had it good, what with Lego.com available in your countries and VIP early access and all that.

Here, we can't even buy from Lego.com (blocked by TLG, seriously in this day and internet age there are still companies having such practices), and the official Lego stores here likely will not stock it, just like most of the other Cuusoo sets.

Even if we did get it here, say 6 months from now, it'd be marked up in price so no matter how you see it, we're basically screwed. Only option for us to get is from Amazon and local parallel importers/ebay, the latter of which will charge 3 to 4 times the price!

And we don't get free polybags like the mini Mini Cooper, which is now selling on our local ebay for US$30 per piece.

As I've said, you guys already had it real good!

I logged the UK site, put the Exo suit and the Research Institute in my bag there, than changed region to Hungary, where neither sets were available through the Hungarian site yet, it allowed me to keep both items in bag and I managed to check out, pay and buy them... tadaaa! :)

I'm seeing an error message saying they have technical difficulties and explaining how they won't add the promotional stuff until later. They also mention a bit about product availability not being up to date, which is of course nerve wracking for a limited release set. Maybe there was too much hype and we're crashing their systems? Well... It seems that the marketing campaign worked. I am sure Lego will sort this all out shortly. They may have to make more exo-suits at this rate. I hope Lego does more neo-classic space based sets, especially with green spacemen!

@thehornedrat it actually is a surprise since the said sites have different stock as ours, the UK one ships from the same warehouse but the list of items available is still different, when I started the order process couple of minutes before 7AM CET the set wasnt available in Hungary but it was in the UK, when I finished the purchase roughtly a few minutes after 7AM CET, it was already availabe here too, I guess it went live at 7AM CET

Should have gotten my second order trough, But with the slow response of the site I'm not sure... Processing payment... Done.

While I waited I made a VW T1 Pickup Truck version out of 11020 in LDD with only the parts that come in the set. (Sure do love making alternates.)

Had some success with the UK site but was slow going. My advice is to be patient - the pages will load but will take a few minutes to do so. Don't even attempt to sign in first - the VIP section isn't working. Just go through checkout and enter all your delivery and bank details manually - hopefully Lego will match up any VIP points appropriately later. Good luck!

Same drama here in Germany. Checked at midnight - only coming soon pages. At 8 a.m. I could get through and place a very suspicious order (no VIP points available, no free mini, no free shipping, high estimated shipping time). Well, an hour later everything went normal and I placed a second order, to get free shipping and the mini, using VIPpointsas well this time.

What the hell? Free shipping has changed to $200 for Australian orders? Isn't it enough that we already pay a premium for Lego simply for living here? I really wanted the exo-suit, but this might just be the deal breaker.

Haven't had any confirmation of my order yet. I can't believe LEGO underestimated this so badly that it sold out in 4 hours. This is as bad as buying concert tickets here in NZ for a popular band.

I don't quite get this... We have been told that there is only one run of this set and when they're gone they're gone. So surely they should all be ready to be shipped, especially with the lauch hype and expected demand. If they are now OOS and they are shipping 4th September does this mean they are running some more?

I have contacted lego customer service as I too haven't had confirmation, however they said to me my order is being processed and should be dispatched today or Monday at latest. In essence they said if the online status shows "in process" then it should be sent out, but they did 100% confirm I have got the two I ordered.

Picked up the exo suit and research institute at Lego store in Westfield, Stratford. They seemed to have quite a few in stock.

In the netherlands it is already out of stock, expected shipping date 4 sept. they better make sure I get one! :P

In the case of both The Simpsons house and Benny's Spaceship (albeit after selling out their initial batches) the sets shipped several weeks before the "Expected ship date".

There's also no need for anyone to panic: if LEGO.com let's you place your order then you'll get your set. Otherwise it would say "Out of stock".

yeah, i had to fork out for shipping after placing a $500+ order to Australia. emailed customer service with a polite WTF, mini Mini also wasnt in there (I assume they're giving them to Australia) and no VIP points. We need to keep in mind that Mark Stafford said only one production run was PLANNED. They may very well do additional runs if the demand is as high as it seems.

I ordered both Ideas sets at around 8:45am UK time this morning. My order is still showing In Process and I haven't received a confirmation email. I think I might give Customer Services a call. I also popped to the Legoland Discovery Centre at the Trafford Centre on my lunch break. They hadn't received either model yet.

Just got out of bed and noticed my second order was just short off €55,- and doesn't qualify for free shipping and free mini Mini Cooper... On the phone right now hoping they can still change my order.

Edit: Could have changed the order had I called within two hours of placing it (Which was undoable as I ordered around 07:00 and the lines don't open until 09:00. And I really needed some sleep.) and the free mini Mini Cooper was limited to 1 per household according to the spokesperson I talked to.

I did get to order 2 Exo suits, the order went through, made around 5.30 am in Portugal Time . I made the order in the US store because somebody will bring them to me... half an hour later it said out of stock. WOW.
I didn't receive the email yet, and paid the express delivery tax because it needed to be delivered tomorrow or monday so that the person can bring the exo suits. and the order status is as customer service... I hope that everything is ok... any of you guys happen the same thing???

9am CDT USA, ordered 2 Exo-Suits and the Ghostbusters set, received a free mini Mini Cooper model from shop.LEGO.com. Exo-Suit is OOS with expected shipping by August 15, and I was able to complete my order under this condition. When I went to add multiple Exo-Suits to the order (I only wanted 2), it seemed that the maximum allowable order was 2 for that set.

Excellent! I'll be at my local LEGO store this evening, so I'll be picking up both sets then.

Ordered exosuit and research institute this morning at 7 - plus about £20 in pic-a-brick to receive mini-mini. Order went through ok, but no email and now says 'in process'. I have ordered stuff before and not received the email until the next day however.

Called the local Lego shop and they have them in stock and are holding one for me to pick up after work :)

Went to the Lego Store in Queens, NY when it opened at 10am. Picked up 2 of the Exo Suits and there were 2 other guys there who did the same. Within 10 minutes they sold half their Exo Suits. Also picked up the Research Institute and the Star Wars Snowspeeder. Got the Mini MINI as a bonus, too.

Not only am I receiving the same message as everyone else (Out of Stock; Will Ship in 30 Days) but I can only add one copy to the shopping cart. Even once in the shopping cart screen, I can't change the quantity to anything except 0 or 1. While that is disappointing, I'm actually happy that the set is doing so well. I'm sure in the future we'll be able to once again order more than one at a time. :]

Ordered mine this morning from the Swiss online shop, had no problems whatsoever. But it's out of stock there now as well...

Checked just after midnight but nothing there. Logged in again before going to work (around 7:45 BST) and there it was. Put in an order for 2 Exo's, an Ecto and a Research institute. Order went through fine, redeemed VIP points, earned VIP points. Just haven't received the order confirmation email.

For a little more perspective, I got to the LEGO Shop moments before the doors opened. They had maybe twelve or fourteen Exos on the shelves which flew off in fifteen seconds tops. Didn't get to them soon enough, but one of the employees announced that we could only purchase one per household. So a kind gentlemen who had two gave me one of them. Believe me, I thanked him a LOT for that.

They put another four up after a couple minutes, which subsequently disappeared as well. By any rate, the Exo is a huge success. I hope TLG will continue to meet the sheer demand for this set.

Can LEGO cancel orders?

To anyone who tried to place an order at Target...I think that $49.99 price only appeared after it went out of stock for some reason. I had it in my cart at the regular price, but couldn't complete my order before it went out of stock. When I checked again, the price had doubled.

Some of the other out-of-stock LEGO sets also have weird inflated prices. It must be a computer thing, because it's not like Target jacks up its own prices or allows secondary-market sellers onto their site like Amazon does.

Considering it's out of stock at the store and may well not be coming back, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I just got back from the Lego Store in Sacramento. I arrived about an hour early and one person was already waiting. By the time the store opened and we all got in line at the register there was about 10 of us waiting. It seems the store had switched from 2 per person to 1 per person by the time the west coast stores opened. Everyone was excited to get the new sets, with most everyone picking up the Exo-Suit and the Research Institute sets. I have never before waited for a store to open to pick up a Lego set before, but the second I saw the Exo-Suit I just had to have one. Fingers crossed Lego sees the demand for this and thinks about revisiting classic space. I can only say I feel like I am a kid again, which doesn't happen very often in your 40s.

@ColoradoBricks, thxs...you're right...even with the price gouging $44.99 of the exo suit up here in Canada. I going to end up cancelling my LEGO.com order anyways, as I managed to swing by local Lego store and grabbed two Exo-Suits! And they gave me a mini mini as well!

I was able to place my order for two Exo-Suits and two Research Labs. I was charged for shipping, didn't have my points accrue, didn't receive any mention of the free mini-Mini Cooper, and didn't receive an email. However, I called LEGO and they said it is going through, but there is a hold up apparently related to their deleting the shipping charge and adding the free mini-Mini Cooper, so I should be getting the email shortly.

Just an FYI for people in US going to Lego Stores. My local store only received roughly 20 exo suits and they say they are only expecting one more shipment mid month of about the same number. Limited to 2 per customer. All 20 sold out in my store in first 5 minutes... fortunately no one was turned away without one who was there at opening but whoever came after opening will be out of luck.

Just got back from TRU. Not in stock in the stores near me according to the CS attendant. So it's not available online or in store...typical TRU shenanigans.

I ordered from Target an they were the normal $34.99. Not sure why it says $49.99 on the site now, even though they are sold out. It's definitely some sort of error.

No emails so far, Confirmation or shipped notice, But both orders I placed this morning have shipped and will arrive tomorrow. Can't wait.

Ordered two exo suits this morning around 10 (GMt+1). Still no email. Order states "customer service" and the individual items show "customer service" (the mini mini) and the exo suits state "back order". :(

Mine has shipped to the UK too. Still no email though.

The Lego Store in Troy, MI had about a dozen of them as of 4:00 PM when I picked mine up.

I was the first one on here to post about successfully being able to order from LEGO.com. 16 hours later, I still haven't gotten a confirmation email, but my LEGO.com order status now says "Backordered" for the Exo Suit. Do any fellow Americans have notification about a shipment, or are we all waiting?

This is amazing. I thought for sure the same pandemonium would have ensued for the Ecto-1, but it didn't seem to sell out at all. Very interesting. I guess that shows the power of Classic Space.

I don't particularly care for the build. But I bought one anyway with VIP points plus a free shipping coupon, so it cost me $0.00. I am quite pleased with that price.

I completely forgot about this set becoming available today and that it was indeed August 1st. Sleep deprivation and non-stop work does that to a person.

It is still at ships in 30 days, so I will expect it sometime next month. My online order status says backordered. I don't think I've ever received an email from them saying my order has been shipped or received, so I don't know why everyone always worries about that. Make sure it registers on the website and you're all good.

Over the last two years whenever I've placed a LEGO.com order there's never a confirmation email. Once the order is shipped and tracking number available from the courier an email is received with a pdf of invoice and credit card is charged.

From what I've read above, folk are panicking for no reason whatsoever - all sounds routine to me. Until it's shipped all orders have a status of 'processing'. If there's a problem, such as someone placing three £50 orders for 3x freebies the status usually changes to 'customer service', i.e. they've identified you're being greedy and are cancelling two of the freebies :-D

Lego store in salt lake had full shelves of both exo suit and research lab. No wait.

Placed order on website this morning for 2 exo suits and research lab online. Order status is "shipped" with tracking number. Done.

My order status is also showing as blank, I checked this with CS yesterday and was told the order is fine and valid. The system can't handle the sheer volume. Mine were ordered at 06:30 BST so I assume like all the other early orders, they were shipped on Friday evening. No emails at all for this order.

Like most other UK folks on here, I placed my order early AM on 1st August.

Unlike @mr_skinny, I usually receive an order confirmation and shipping email. Although, the emails usually come a many hours after the event.

However, this time, it seems we're all in the same boat re: the emails; I also have received nothing this time. It seems their email system is a bit slow or buggy.

I can see my order status online, though, and it shows shipped. So all is going well for me, thankfully.

...I have a different problem - the LEGO.com website won't let me enter my credit card details. Old card has expired and I can't add my new card details. Argggghhhhh!

I didn't write down my order number because it said I would receive a confirmation email shortly... 24 hours and no email yet! Obviously I should have written the number down anyway, but you can see why this is annoying.

Ordered yesterday morning, order status was contact customer service until I went to bed last night, now it's in process. So everythings looks fine.

Over the last year I think I received confirmation emails for about half of the orders I've made, all items were always shipped on time, so not particularily worried about not receiving a confirmation.

Of course, all the online hype regarding confusion if the exo-suit is still available or not is making me feel more worried than I feel I should be (I sincerely hope so at least...)

My local LEGO Store had the Suit on the shelves since Monday. Tons of them. But I specifically waited for today's special offers for Community members.

I was somewhat worried this morning, what with all this sold-out talk last night, but they still had plenty left. Even though the store was being overrun and absolutely *everyone* was getting one. But they still had dozens on the shelves when I left, and more in the back.

So anyway, just got two Suits, yay! Had 1600 VIP points to burn, too. So basically I got them for free. (Yeah yeah I know that's not how the VIP math really works, but wevs.)

Caveat emptor: The normal clerks enforce a limit of one per person. I had to talk to the manager, and even so I think it helped tremendously he recognized me from my numerous previous visits on which I had been spending hundreds of bucks. There was another customer who likewise got two in the same manner, but everyone else was only allowed one.

Tried around 6.30am in Belgium, it was advertised but not yet available. Tried again around 12.00 and was already sold out. WTF ?! Still secured an order but with expected delivery date 04-Sept. Now as you would expect, clusters of overpriced Exosuits (around 60 eur) are popping up in ebay.
Morale : announcing the item would be scarce was really unforunate. It made a resellers' heaven (+100% easy and quick return on 'investment') while it made the loyal lego fan a real nightmare.
I'm not even talking about the usual forex rip-off (35 EUR vs 35 USD).... TLG would really need to address this.

@legoguysw : if the order process went till the stage where an order ID has been issued, then the order should be visible in the Shop / order Status section. Many, including me, have not received any email confirmation.

Yeah it is really unfortunate they announced that there would be a limited run. I'd rather not know how many there are, so that it's fair for all, until they sell out.

This surely has to be a wake-up call to TLG to release the classic space range again in some way or form... the popularity of the Exo-suit, Benny's SSS and the Minifig deal a month ago almost melted down the internet... This is what the masses are after, it would be stupid not to cater for it.

TLG... you can make tonnes of money on this.

I am thinking of getting it through Lego Shop and waiting till september to get it but before i commit i thought i'd ask about other shops.

It was out of stock, and would appear on september the 3rd.
Not sure that will also be the case. When I ordered the back to the future car it also said it would be out of stock until next month, but I just got it 1 day later than the other things I ordered back then, so I'll just have to see.

@leerock I would not hesitate and wait till september for this set. If you really want this set, if you see it, id recommend that you jump on it.(maybe just take it off the shelf, its a really nice box so you probably don't want to crush it by jumping on it)

I was at a brick and mortar store this morning (Saturday, Aug 2nd). They are limiting all buyers to only one exo-suit. I was told that they were allowing two per customer on Friday, but as of this morning they MUST limit one per customer.

I needed two (one for me and one for a buddy who is currently deployed in the military). Luckily, the lady behind me and I were talking, and as she was not buying one (she was on a Mixel hunt), she helped me get the second one.

Ordered mine at 12:40 AM (US East Coast Time) I secured two :-). I have ran into the same problems as many other people I didn't get a confirmation email so I called Lego and they smoothed it out for me. I don't know how it worked for the rest of y'all tho

What's the Brickset record for most commented article? This has got to be up there. Hopefully the interest in the Exo-Suit is a sign of more space-related sets in the (near) future.

My order from 1st August has just arrived.

Well I ordered 2 suits on Friday morning in the UK after the status changed to out of stock - delivery 4-Sept. I got an order confirmation on the website but no email. I also have nothing showing in the order history and no new VIP points 3 days later. I called a human at Lego and she told me that they did have the order and I was scheduled to get the free mini soon in a separate shipment. Every other order I have done on the Lego site worked perfectly.

Placed an online order last night. Limit 1. From the listing it's to ship in 30 days. Went to my local Lego store today and they had about 5 on the shelf. Limit 1 per household. They also had about 5 of the Research Lab sets. Also, limit 1 per household.

The lady told me they sold out of the research lab on Sat, and just got a few more today. I was actually surprised they had any today, but I thought it would be good to check, just in case. I'm glad I checked. I almost decided not to go today.

My 2 Exo-suits from Target are scheduled for delivery on Wednesday. It's been tough waiting, but at least they are coming! Can't wait to build it!

Foolishly didn't order mind until pm on the Friday (umm'd and arrrr'd) about what else to get to get the order to £50 (then I was disappointed to find the Mini Mini was free all of August as I already had one when I VIP'd the Big Mini). My order now says " Partial shipment balance on backorder " which I assume means Sept 4th for Exo, this week for the rest. The only Good news is you still seem to be able to order one so its not End of Line (Life) its just they did not expect this many to be ordered on days 1,2,3,4....

Finally got mine!!

I bit the bullet and bought 1 set from evilbay at US$75 (inclusive of shipping).

Local Lego shop seems to indicate this set only available sometime NEXT YEAR, and the parallel import shops said have to wait till at least Sep or beyond as now OOS everywhere.

Anyway, when it is available here I can always get another set or 2. For the record I've got 9 Ecto-1 sets :))

Don't know if anyone else noticed, but the US online Lego store went from "out of stock, ships in 15 days" early Friday to "out of stock, ships in 30 days" later Friday and over the weekend. As of Monday it was updated to "out of stock, expected ship date august 17", and now Tuesday morning it says "out of stock, expected ship date August 16". Seems to me like maybe they're getting a better grasp on shipping availability and is some extra hope to those of us who have theirs on backorder.

I wonder of this is it for the exo suit of the second production will create more of an availability for this set. For example like the minecraft set

Didn't know the Research Institute is so popular, it is fetching almost same price as the Exo on the secondary market.

Built my Exo Suit last night. The end result looks great, but I didn't really enjoy the fiddly build. I think I'm more inclined towards modulars and things like that.

Disappointed to have this be the first set to have a missing piece. I was short of a 1x2 plate w. 1 knob, and had an extra silver 1x2 grill. I've already submitted a request for the missing piece, but it's just a shame when things like that happen.

I wasn't able to get 1, the lego site says that it will be back in stock on august 18. Is that true???

Well done LEGO. I Just emailed customer service about my day one order... I won't be getting my two exo-suits this month. Probably early September, they said. They also cancelled my mini mini cooper because I already received one with the 10242 VIP promotion. Although I don't think this policy is maintained properly, I did receive two balloonstall polybags last month. And what if I went to a LEGO store instead?

I think that LEGO should apologise us for this pandemonic introduction of 21109. And maybe compensate it in some way.

My order was cancelled because:

I ordered around 3 AM on August 1st, and at the time, expected ship date was August 15th. Well, I just got a shipping notice that my Exo Suit was shipped today! Can't wait! I'm also getting the Research Institute tomorrow. So glad I ordered both!

Mine was also back ordered, even with an August 1st purchase date, yet shipped to me today.

I hope that means mine will ship soon. I ordered at like 3:45 am on august 1st and at the time, it was still saying it would ship august 15th. Of course as long as I get one, I don't care if I have to wait a bit. I did get my research institute already though.

I still can't se my order when logged in to the UK site but it is there when I set the region to USA, weird. The VIP points are not showing anywhere.

Also, my email from Lego suggests there will be a second production run -" The Exo Suit has proven to be a very popular set and we’ve had a lot more orders than we expected. We don’t have any in stock at the moment, and we’re working hard to make more."

The same way I LOVE LEGO I am starting to HATE it too .. :D .. all my orders are on backorder .. at least .. anyway LEGO finally did a good thing it was a bout time they started to approve fan based designs ... they are way up above the average lego set level ... and this just proves it! ..

I haven't been through all the forums, but I've gone through many connected to the exo-suit. I haven't found anyone talking about what I feel is a real truth: AFOL's love the original classic space minifig.

Now, 30 years after the solid-color classic space figure disappeared from the shelves, the last space minifig that only explored (no enemies or good vs. evil storyline), Lego releases a new color of the most classic of Lego minifigs (personal view).

To solve the demand for the exo-suit, all Lego need do is release a "minifig pack" that includes a white, yellow, green, black, red, and blue classic space minifig. Or possibly two minifig packs, splitting the original colors up and including the highly desired green minifig within both.

I was able to buy more than one exo-suit at the Lego Store, and I bought them for the minifig. I'm not afraid to admit that fact.

I miss the age where space sets were about exploration, instead of a pre-created good vs. evil concept. The excitement around this set, in my opinion, shows that I am not alone in this desire to return to what once was, and always has been, the original classic space line.

GOOD NEWS, EVERYONE!

First, the bad news: My Exo-Suit arrived partially crushed in the cheap shipping box Lego uses. I e-mailed customer service about it, hoping to have the box replaced...

They sent an e-mail in reply. Pertinent information: "The good news is, we are expecting to receive more of the Exo Suit in the near future."

If you did not get the chance to order one, WAIT. Don't pay stupid money on ebay/bricklink from the prospectors!
