Vibrant coral all the way baby!

By in France,

I often mistake Lavender and Medium Lavender. In my mind medium lavender should have a lighter tone.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I loved that lots of rock-things were Lavender in Elves. It added to the magical vibe.

SAND PURPLE SUPREMACY!!!

By in Australia,

I ordered a bunch of leaf pieces in that lavender colour second from the top left. Is that medium lavender? These were used to swap the green leaves on the Winnie the Pooh house and therefore create a lovely Jacaranda tree!
I don't usually like any of the colours here, but I'd really like to see some official Lego Jacaranda trees in sets (including white Jacarandas).

Paradisa pink is the real number 1 :’)

Wow okay. Magenta getting a lot of votes... I find this surprising since it feels just as rare as bright light blue. I've got like 3 pieces in that color.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I like them all

By in Germany,

My top two purple colors have Long been discontinued:
1 - Bright Violet (Onepu's mask, Cyber Slam)
2 - Sand Violet (Life in Mars)

So I picked Medium Lilac (Dark Purple), since it Made at least an important appearance in TMNT.

By in Sweden,

I have a long standing feud with Dark Purple. It is neither a good purple or a good violet imo. It is just too red, too blue, too dull, too vibrant, too dark, and too light to be anything.

Dark pink meanwhile, inspite of its change from id 22 to 221, remains largely the same. Annoyingly, this makes it hard to identify which is which, but clearly this is because it was already perfect.

By in Germany,

For this poll I actually pulled out a piece in each colour to look at them side by side. On the previous ones I had enough of a mental image of all the colours to already have a favourite in mind, but this one just doesn't come up as much for me.

Interestingly, all but two of the colours could be found in 41935 Lots of Dots.

By in Sweden,

I really miss Bright Violet. In my opinion, that's the best purple, but sadly I only own a few pieces in that color. I went with Dark Purple instead, which comes the closest. Difficult choice for me anyway, because to quote Atomic Shrimp "Purple is the best color!"

I did want to pick Dark Purple because it's an even rarer Technic colour than Green, but I just couldn't say no to Magenta!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Has to be Dark Pink, as a friend had a Reliant Robin in that colour (aka The Pink Pig), until he rolled it. A mercy killing to be honest.

Gravatar
By in United States,

While I do like Vibrant Coral, I had to go with Lavender on this one, partially due to its use in Elves, as @slotb mentioned. As an aside, gee, I wonder what PurpleDave's favorite will be?

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Not my favourite colour category, but I guess Medium Lavender

Dark purple is best purple. It’s perfect for Buzz Lightyear, the Knight Bus, Starro the Conqueror, Donatello, and Joker. It works for Holley Shiftwell, and it comes in a good variety of both basic bricks/plates/tiles and specialty detail parts.

I vote for PurpleDave. What do you mean “that’s not a shade of purple”? :~P

By in United Kingdom,

@CapnRex101 can I just ask why the Voting buttons dont match the colours as displayed ? I had assumed the first option was top left.....4th top right down to 7th bottom right but clearly Dark Purple is not the last colour. I wanted to vote for the 2nd one, but now I cant decide if it is and if so which lavender that is?

Gravatar
By in Germany,

I unironically can't wait for the poll of black, white and all the greys!
It would be really interesting to see what shade would win :-D

If Lego Games taught me anything Dark Purple is the symbol of wealth.

Dark purple is my favorite color in general. I remember back in the late 2000s and early 2010s purple was uncommon compared to other colors and it was always nice to get a purple stud here and there. I was super excited when the 2011 Knight Bus came out because it was almost completely purple and I still have it

The arrangement is:
Lavender - Medium Lavender - Bright Pink - Vibrant Coral
Dark Purple - Magenta - Dark Pink

I hate coral with a passion. One of the ugliest lego colors ever. My vote does to lavender, very underrated

Gravatar
By in United States,

I really love all of these colors - purples and pinks are among my favorite hues, and IMO you can’t go wrong with any of these choices.

I picked Dark Purple because of MAJESTY and RARITY. Any set that makes heavy use of Dark Purple has my attention, like the Space Police 3 smash-and-grab set. I wouldn’t have bought that set under normal circumstances, but it’s SO PURPLE.

By in Canada,

Favourite Lego colours: yellow, red, blue, white, black - the original five (+ trans-clear and baseplate green). The others are just to add a bit of detail.

(but I think you have to add grey (and trans-yellow) in there because of SPACESHIP!)

Those are not part of the original 7 (yellow, red, blue, white, black, trans-clear, and dark green), so I picked magenta (looks like I'm the only one in that camp - because a spaceman in magenta would be nice - I did one on Stud-IO). While I like most of them equally (except coral), I never build in those colours and don't think I ever will. If I buy stuff with those colours in, I'm fine with it (otherwise I would not buy it). The reason for that is: there are not many (I did not type ANY, I typed NOT MANY) things in life that are those colours - mostly they are for decoration and/or fantasy builds and it is fine like that.

Dark purple FTW! I remember getting that for the first time in 2004 with the first Knight Bus set. It has been known as "Knight Bus purple" in my family since then.

Also, this is the color that got Teal killed by Mark Stafford in 2007. (it was either one or the other going to be axed) NEVER FORGET!

@EpicMindvolt:
I belatedly realized I should have bought several of the first Knight Bus, so I compensated by buying 20 of the 2011 version.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Loads of excellent options here. I'm not too fond of the lavenders, but they're great in some contexts. Coral, dark pink, dark purple and magenta are all top tier. I can't even remember which one I went for.

Gravatar
By in United States,

All of them! This is the hardest choice.

Coral Purple

Gravatar
By in United States,

It's a little confusing that the color names on the poll are different from the color names they link to. For a minute I thought Bright Reddish Violet (my pick) was absent.

Gravatar
By in Poland,

Purple is my least favorite colour in lego, followed by pink shades. I almost never use those colors in my mocs. But vibrant coral is my top favorite colour, so I'm happy I'm not alone here.

Gravatar
By in Russian Federation,

I love them all! Can't choose just one

Gravatar
By in United States,

@PurpleDave: Why am I not surprised that I was able to call your pick?

@Murdoch17: At least Stafford made up for killing teal by designing a lot of great sets. And they did bring it back.

@Andrusi: They're using the Bricklink color names for the polls.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm also confused by the names, since there's definitely a mix of LEGO/Bricklink names, with "Vibrant Coral" here, and a previous poll had "Spring Yellowish Green".

Gravatar
By in Germany,

I really like vibrant coral, but my favorite of this bunch is magenta, hands down.

And the Rise of the Snakes, Tournament of Elements and Possession Ninjago. That color is one of the best accent colors for snake/ghost stuff. And who can forget the honorary Purple Ninja?

I haven't followed all the comments so please forgive if this has been answered previously. It seems there is a mix of LEGO and BL names. Is there a reason?

Lego as a Danish company doesn’t use the color pink. Instead they use bright purple. Lego also uses more specific color names. Bricklink simplifies the names so it’s easier to understand for the community.

I never fail to add sand purple parts if they show up in BL stores I'm buying from. Lovely color. RIP.

By in Canada,

It might be controversial, but I think dark/new purple was the right call to save over teal. I find it more versatile, and it'd be strange to have something as basic as purple completely unrepresented (outside of trans colours).

Bright/old purple is a nice colour, but I don't think it was ever used especially well, just a few Bionicles, Harry Potter minfigures, and some very strange Technic and Belville. Maybe in another world, though, Pohatu was purple and it became one of that line's core colours.

@RogueWhistler the old purple was used for accents on several Ninjago villain factions such as Skeletons, Fangpyre, Nindroid, Anacondrai, Ghosts. It was even used for the Honorary Purple Ninja Lil’ Nelson.

By in Australia,

For everyone who comments that "sand X" is their favourite shade in each of these colour polls - I'm wondering which SAND colour is your favourite one (whether discontinued or current).

Perhaps @CapnRex101 can add a "What is your favourite LEGO colour? Sands" poll into this colourfully fun survey mix?

Gravatar
By in United States,

These are all of my favorite colors, too hard to choose one. Unfortunately these are not listed by LEGO color names, as there is no pink in name by Lego. So I can't tell what actual color I ended up choosing.

Overlord with purple accents is mainly the leader of the Nindroid faction. In legacy of the green ninja he was more black because he possessed Garmadon and in Crystalized he was more gold and black/dark grey than purple and black.

I think black looks best for him but I like dark blue for accents. Also I like the trans pink accents on crystallized sets

"Coral Purple"

I don’t think Coral is purple. In the comics, he should still be a healthy shade of pink, and on the TV series he’s more a rotty shade of greenish black.

@TheOtherMike:
Because I said what it was a few days ago? And Stafford made up for killing teal by _not_ killing dark-purple. Consider that regular purple and sand-purple were already gone, so what other opaque purple color did they even have at that time?

@Endermen39:
I didn’t list anything that was color-matched to the LEGO palette. My list was only existing IP that the LEGO palette had to replicate. So I also didn’t include TLBM Batgirl and Catwoman because, other than the shiny yellow capes worn by Batgirl and Robin (and which I hear TLG strenuously objected to), all of the character designs would have been developed using the existing color palette. I doubt Nickelodeon did the same with their TMNT series, so it was just a happy coincidence that Donnie’s mask is such a close match to dark-purple. Based on the die-cast I modeled my minifig-scale MOCs off of, Holley’s color is almost a perfect match for medium-lavender (if it was metallic), but the giant version that was gifted to the actress was built in dark-purple like mine (probably because there’s a much better part selection).

Regarding the use of regular purple, you mean deco, right? Because the molded color has been dead for about two decades, well before Ninjago even hit the concept phase.

That is not old purple, that is dark purple.
Old purple (104 Bright Violet) has not been used in any form after 2005 (2003 not including obscure bins of bricks).

Dark purple was definitely the right call to save, though had it not been I have no doubt a purple would have been brought around in 2011 for Friends.

I honestly thought they were the same. I didn’t know there was a specific old purple. My collection that I got from my dad ends in 1987 and my own collection begins in 2008-2009. I feel like they should have saved sand purple too. We are due for another Zam Wessel remake.
