Tans and browns, texture like sun…

I'm guessing trans colours will be thier own category?

By in United Kingdom,

I wasn't aware of either warm tan and medium brown. Great to see this colour family expanding. Presumably 'warm tan' is not the TLG colour name?

Gravatar
By in Norway,

I hope we get more regular medium brown parts, not just minifig heads and hands. It would also be a much better hair colour than reddish brown for ep. III Anakin Skywalker

By in United States,

I don’t think I’ve seen warm tan or medium brown yet. Are those new this year?

By in Australia,

After recently building Viking Village and Chewbacca, tan is by far my favourite

By in United Kingdom,

I do like dark orange, especially because of 8584 Hewkii and 7418 Scorpion Palace, but standard tan is basically a classic for me, ever since I first encountered it through Adventurers, in 5938 in particular. It felt so unusual and special at the time, compared to the relatively few colours I'd had before, and even though it's pretty much as common as any other colour these days it still has some element of that 'this is special' feel to me.

By in Ireland,

This is the hardest one... no clear favourites for me.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I chose dark tan. I like it.

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

Ok. I don't really care here. Or rather, there are several that I like equally well. Or something like this. Picked one of them almost at random.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

I like several, but light nougat would be my favorite.
Come to think of it, in every category so far, the lightest colour was my favorite. Only magenta in the pinks and purples category broke that rule.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Dark orange for me, probably. I'd have also stuck orange in here with the browns, then had tan and nougat separate.

I have a query. I came across some pieces the other day from a colour I'm certain is retired, but is brown with a kind of pink-ish tinge to it? Anyone know what that is?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Honestly Dark Brown is my favorite of them all. Medium Nougat and Dark Tan are close behind though

Gravatar
By in Hungary,

That's tan!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Orange is my favorite color IRL, so Dark Orange gets my vote here.

Looks like new for 2022, mostly used for skin tones?

You can click or tap the color name to open up all the parts with that color on Brickset.

Dark Tan, my favourite colour....

Gravatar
By in United States,

Tan... It's corse, rough, and irritating, and it gets everywhere.

Nougat, it's soft and smooth.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Don’t click on Nougat! It’s a trap!

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I'm glad to see parts assortments in this range expanding a lot lately. Be it nougat and light nougat parts appearing in non minifig parts or the addition of medium brown and warm tan minifigs (and some warm tan non minifig parts too)

By in Netherlands,

I hesitated between Tan and Medium Nougat for a minute, then went with the latter. I love tan as a hair color, but medium nougat is just so beautiful for buildings or Geonosian-esque environments ^^

Gravatar
By in Poland,

Tan is my absolute favorite Lego color!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I like tan, about a quarter of my buildings are tan in one way or another.

But then again, that makes sense... if they were real-world buildings, they would get a lot of sun. Thus, they are tan. ;-P

By in France,

Hard choice, I love all of these !

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Dark orange - a proper red brick colour for town applications...

Gravatar
By in United States,

Reddish Brown still gives me nightmares whenever I use it... but I really like the color ;_;

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Mmmmmm Dark Tan. A deliciously good colour

Gravatar
By in Germany,

None of these colours appears to be necessary in Technic builds. I don't think that colour coding of parts is really necessary.
I didn't participate in voting.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm not choosing brown or reddish brown for my favorite color bricks...

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

Dark orange for me!

Gravatar
By in Serbia,

Ye Black and Tans!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Very hard choice, as I like all of these both for building and minifigures. So I went for light nougat. I wish they would expand the number of regular bricks in that colour.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Oh for a bar of Caramac!

Pronounced ‘noogah’ without the ‘t’. Yes, even in your head. That’s just the way it has to be :~P

No *clear* favourites for anyone. They’re all opaque! :~D

I voted for dark orange. I thought it wouldn’t be popular but at the time of writing it’s polling pretty well.

After Building 21343 Viking Village my favorite tan/brown is medium Nougat.

Edit: spelling

Tan and dark orange are both great, but I went with Medium Nougat, I remember it being an exciting new colour at the time.

Light/Metru brown maybe?

Fine. I guess dark brown, whatever. I'll be in my trailer."

I would want to get trans neon orange back but trans neon green is fine with me as well. But i guess those will not choosable when it comes to trans colour voting..

Gravatar
By in United States,

I know voting for your favorite LEGO color has been a recurring series on here but maybe we should’ve considered the implications of the concept of voting for which is your favorite out of these a bit more before posting this…

Old brown, oh how I miss it.

Gravatar

Perhaps I’m biased, but this palette screams Tatooine to me.

Everyone knows the struggle of having their reddish brown pieces shattering.

The new star wars Christmas set, 40658 actually has a trans-neon green lightsaber. It's barely hanging on.

By in United States,

Finally decided on Medium Nougat because of all of the container parts I have it in. Ice Cream Cone from TLM2, Maui from Moana, the Blue Meanie from Yellow Sumbarine, and Bullseye from Toy Story all being molded ion that color helped.

I haven't had any break either, but if and when I get any sets with it out of storage, I'll definitely be careful.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Several of my favorite colors are in this group--presumably because I love making buildings so much. It's nice to see such a wide range of skin colors, but they also represent a wide range of stone types as well.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

tan and dark tan, they are perfect for beaches! and beaches are important for all my boats.

@Trigger_:
No, I think people need the catharsis of talking out their frustration over Brittle Brown, and any holdover resentment over the 2004 color change that wasn’t covered in the previous poll.

@TheOtherMike:
It won’t help. At a certain point, it will be so brittle that simply attaching it to another part will cause it to burst into splinters. Sometime in the last few years, I pulled a 6x8 reddish-brown plate out of 7598, and it snapped as easily as a graham cracker. I figured it would either be perfectly safe, or there was no way I could ever use that part to build anything.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Hard choice here, yet again my true favorite (25 Earth Orange) is long gone.

I picked Tan/Brick Yellow, as I have fond memories of Adventurers and early Star Wars (it even did appear scarcely in Western, Divers and Ninja, which were also nice). Also it' one of the original 12 Kanohi colors!

As I had an incident very recently involving the dreaded 'brittle brown' I am definitely not going to pick up either Reddish Brown nor Dark Brown, as breaking pieces leave quite a bitter taste for these...

Dark Orange is a nice color, but to be honest the only memorable thing I associate with it are the 2000 pterodactyls and other dinosaurs from Dino Island (well and Huki/Hewkii of cause), so not that much of a memory. Dark Tan is even more so, it just came way to late for me, to associate that much with it, although I do remember it from Fantasy Era and TMNT.

Never been much in the nougats/fleshy colors... Despite having a few Duplo figures lying around for ages, I never released 18 Nougat was an actual color up until 2003, when Sports began using it. For most cases their usage is limited anyways and their neither really flashy bright nor really dark (I like their names though :D).

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Hard decision this time, but I went with dark Orange: it's just such a "lego" colour to me, mostly because of the drumsticks.

Wondering about that too. I fought there would be a final poll where the winners face off for the grand title.
