Star Wars Advent Calendar - Day 1
Posted by CapnRex101,The first LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar was produced in 2011, so we have now reached the thirteenth edition! I always look forward to the annual Star Wars calendar and this addition to the long-running series is no exception.
Let's see whether number thirteen proves lucky on this occasion...
Unusually, the backdrop for this year's Advent Calendar is quite similar to the design last year, focusing on the Forest Moon of Endor. I love the wooden recreation of the Emperor's famous throne room window and the Death Star II shield projector draped in lights in the background. Otherwise though, this backdrop for the contents of the Advent Calendar is relatively bland, in relation to previous years.
Our first item, on the other hand, is outstanding! Omega originates from The Bad Batch, as an enigmatic clone of Jango Fett created by the Kaminoans for unknown reasons. This minifigure returns from 75323 The Justifier and is a welcome addition to the Advent Calendar, particularly since I expect Omega will be a new minifigure to many.
Omega is unchanged from her prior appearance, but there was little need for updates because the figure already looks marvellous. The printed arms are appealing in particular, while this tan hair element suits Omega nicely. Of course, the character's season two garb would have been even better than returning to her season one appearance, but that would obviously require new pieces.
The minifigure alone would have been good, but Omega also comes with a brick-built sled. In some years, the minifigure and her accessory would have been split over two days, so pairing them together is fantastic. There is space for Omega to stand on the sled and I like the runners on either side, assembled from reddish brown tiles.
Overall - This is certainly my favourite of the items revealed today, as Omega is an impressive minifigure and her accessory is quite substantial too.

Agree. Rare Character AND built accessory. Comparably generous. By looking at the box I expected the sleigh to be a gift by itself.
Nice start for the SW calendar!
I don't keep up with SW so I 've never heard of her, but a lesser known minifigure is nice to see in a calendar, and with a brick-built accessory on the same day.
Finally, I have a complete Bad Batch! Such a great figure and addition. If this was the Marvel calendar she would be one day and 1/4 of the sled would be tomorrow.
Am I the only person who follows the Star Wars countdown intently waiting for the weapons rack?
This is the main attraction of this year's advent calendar as there was no chance I was shelling out for The Justifier. However, this minifigure still wasn't enough to justify buying the advent calendar. Just not enough value this year
This is where the fun begins!
The inclusion of an accessory is excellent as well!
The advent calendar was revealed about one week after I shelled out for Omega on bricklink. I'd love to say lesson learned, but... well.
Delighted to see a proper build with a fig! A surprise, to be sure...
I enjoy seeing these advent reviews (even though we've seen the contents images already...) as it's fun to compare them all.
I'm doing a vintage Advent-urers Calendar on my instagram as well https://www.instagram.com/classicstylecastle/
Surprised to see Omega as day 1, but definitely a welcome one to be sure.

Done that many times, bought a second hand set or figure online only for a new version to be announced a few days later! :D
I was incredibly surprised to see both a minifig and a built thing on the same day! Has that ever happened before?
Also, I'm ashamed at myself for not recognizing her.
So if Omega is day 1, does that mean Alpha is day 24?
Great minifigure, Even has arm printing, which is a rarity in Lego star wars!

That's surely going to be only on all the even numbered days.
"Strap in, kid. You’re not gonna want to miss this view.” (Hunter-Bad Batch).
Excellent start to this year's Advent Calendar.
The only problem I see with such a good start to the Calendar this year is it's going to be hard to keep up this quality. I'm bracing myself for some disappointment.
Oh, a minifig and a build? That’s a bit of a rarity, normally I’d have expected the sled to have been in its own door tomorrow. I hope this unexpected generosity now doesn’t mean an extra weapon rack down the line…

No, no, no. Nothing too fancy.
So that's who that is! I've only seen Season One, and that when it first came out, so didn't recognize her when I built the minifig. I was like, "Well, at least @CapnRex101 will know..." Also, I find it interesting that they used two colors of brackets to mount the runners on.
Last year’s SW AC was one of the best ever for the theme, and a return to glory after the less-than-great 2021 calendar. I had feared this year’s AC wouldn’t be able to keep up, but a desirable minifigure *and* a build together, right off the bat on Day 1? There could hardly be a better start, and it bodes well for the rest.
Omega would lose her mind seeing snow. The girl didn't even know what dirt was and loved it; snow would be magical.
@CapnRex101 : Wish you had not abandoned the numbered grades to each entry in the Advent Calendars, although from the excellent review I do not doubt this would be an obvious 5,0!
Having said that, receiving Omega today finally puts a end to any unwanted plans of purchasing the unjustified Justifier.
Thank you for doing these calendar reviews, they are much appreciated here in my corner of the world.
The arms would be great for the purist homemade Spider-Man suit from SPider-Man: Homecoming
Great start! I hope the rest of the calendar is as good.
@Blondie_Wan: Yes, I was *very* glad I got last year's SWAC.
This is not the Omega I wished for when we started hearing about the second year of Sonic, but I'm not complaining.
I am not familiar with the character of Omega, but getting a kid and the sled on the same day works for me!
Ironically, this year I’m kinda dreading the larger builds. I always pull the tray out the side so I can put the model back in its compartment for storage, but the janky cardboard trays don’t really work with this. So, I’m building everything in the bags.

Wow, and I thought I was being cynical, figuring it would be spread across three days…
@Judgeguy:
Some Walmart stores accidentally clearanced the 2023 SWAC for &18.00.
@TheOtherMike:
Two colors is pretty typical, especially with advent calendars where you get one tiny panel for the instructions. What’s actually weird is that they didn’t reverse the order so the 1x3 tiles would tie the two brackets together.
