Star Wars Advent Calendar - Day 15

Posted by ,

The packaging for this Advent Calendar exhibits an Endor theme and two items associated with the Forest Moon have emerged in the last two days.

I anticipate another on day fifteen...

The treetop Ewok village is perhaps the Forest Moon's most recognisable feature, although a difficult one to replicate at microscale. However, I think the designer has done an excellent job here, using a 4x4 ring plate to great effect as the main walkway. The trees are somewhat lacking in texture and could perhaps have included some leaves to make the canopy bushier, but for the size, I am satisfied with this model.

Overall - This rendition of the Ewok village is easily recognisable, not to mention quite substantial for an Advent Calendar model.

Looks like an agility course.

Not much of an improvement on the past AC Ewok Village. 75097

The old one had a Han-roasting fire!

I'd say this is quite the improvement of the 75097 village. It's larger and the round 4x4 captures the idea of bridges or platforms between the trees. The "ladder" ramp on the side is kind of weak, but adding an additional tree with some 1x1 brown cylinder bricks and some 2x2 green round plates allows for a nice expansion of the village.

Probably needs a fire, though. Maybe one of those small candle fire pieces, or maybe a 1x1 trans red plate.

This is going marvelously in my little microscale Endor diorama. The Imperial Shuttle in this year's diorama is far too big, but the one in 7958 probably works as a slightly exaggerated for scale model.

By in United States,

I choose to believe that Leia from yesterday is in-scale with today's gift, and she's going to feed the whole village with that one cookie.

By in United States,

The main reason I recognized what it was was because of Endor Leia the previous day. If it hadn't been for that, I would have been a bit confused.

I'd have gone for a dark tan 4x4 wedge plate or quarter circle if that were allowed. That would have also allowed for a couple other details like maybe a brown 1x1 bracket for C-3PO's chair, and a trans-orange stud for some fire in the middle.

Nah, no fight needed. Both models are similar, so they're entitled to their opinion.

The prior model was smaller (the village was on a 3x3 plate) and only had 16 pieces. This one occupies closer to a 4x4 space and is made of 23 pieces by my count.

Day 15:

5. Marvel - lame parts pack
4. SW - good parts pack (bc. browns & greens)
3. HP - the LEGO world needs more kegs, especially as they officially don't do alcohol related stuff
2. Friends - some normal colours for once, makes me feel warm
1. City - CAT!

I love this! It is second only to that celebrated Bespin microbuild of the 2018 Advent Calendar 75213 in my humble opinion.

Or they’re the same model, spread out over eight years!

It’s ok, but I like the build from 75097 in 2015 more.

By in United States,

Between the HPAC and SWAC, this is now the worst to build inside the bag, due to having six different long bits that only attach by one stud, and a fair amount of open space failing to stabilize them in the center.

@PurpleDave: I'm curious: After you build them in the bag, do you leave them like that, or do you then open the bag?

They go back in their spot in the tray, and the tray slides back inside the box. The only tape that gets cut is the end flap seal at one end, so the tray can slide out.

So, the ramp can become a bridge? And, it symbolizes a bridge between myself and my sworn enemy- who likes this new version?! And, this peaceful, holiday solution is proposed by a well-known agitator?!!

It's another FESTIVUS MIRACLE!!
