Star Wars Advent Calendar - Day 17

Posted by ,

Yesterday's rendition of the Endor shield bunker was effectively detailed for its size, although the location is not necessarily ideal for scaling down to this degree.

I hope something more enjoyable arrives next...

The iconic AT-ST will forever be associated with the Forest Moon of Endor and this is the walker's third appearance in a Star Wars Advent Calendar. The last was in 2022 and portrayed the lighter version seen on Hoth, so I like that this design is bulkier. 2x2 angled corner tiles create accurate armour around the cockpit and the stud forming the hatch on top is clever too. Most impressive of all, however, are the twin laser cannons, despite their disproportionate size.

Overall - I am pleased with this AT-ST, which captures surprising detail for such a small model.

This one was fun. And my first attempt at completing the build inside the bag, so it was an added layer of fun

I didn't love this one, the angle of the head feels more AT-DP than AT-ST. I like the way the guns were done though

Somebody help me out: how well does this scale to the bunker? I can't tell if it's too big or just right. An AT-ST certainly isn't this *thick,* which may be what's throwing me.

This is certainly a very different design than the AT-ST in 75340 and 75184 . The one in 75340 may be more accurate to scale even if it's the Hoth model (which was a slightly different design than Endor).

Two cannoned AT-DP

5. Marvel - a character on it's own, maybe, but one piece is not enough to satisfy.
4. Friends - useful extras, underwhelming "model"
3. SW - "Stomp! Stomp!" always funs to stomp! through the woods and blast open the occasional bunker doors.
2. City - that's what I call a healthy christmas tree!
1. HP - minifig is a minifig, and this one has a cool torso design!

By in United Kingdom,

I had the toy version back in the 1980's which had a gun turret on the roof as well so I put the spare part on the top.

Looks the part and better than the poor flimsy thing yesterday.

I like this. Good for hunting down "Rebel Scum" until such time you are ejected by a Wookie and 2 Ewoks!

I think what's killing me is that it lacks the right side turret and whatever equipment is supposed to be on left (it used a roller skate piece last time). Any ideas how to mod it?

I won’t be under that thing or be squished

Another adorable SWAC walker.

@ResIpsaLoquitur: I'm pretty sure the one in 75184 was supposed to be an AT-DP, as the whole calendar was post-Lucas stuff. For that matter, 75340's was a different model of AT-ST. So this goes beyond the variations between depictions of the same craft sometimes seen between SWACs.

Same; that long body and gangly legs looks more like the AT-DP than the more squat Moai-styled AT-ST but I appreciate at this scale it’s tricky to get that kind of difference in

I saw the dark-tan 2x3 plate and thought this might be half of the SWAC models that weren’t spoiled on the box. Then I peeked inside the box at the back of the door, and realized they just left off the stand, same as the STAP.

A couple of 1x1 inverted brackets would greatly improve the legs just to give them and implied additional joint. And I don't mean add them to the sides, I mean take your bar stud and attach that to the bracket so that there's a that additional joint, even if it's locked in place.

I’ve been building this years entire calendar inside the bag!
