This year's Christmas GWPs revealed
Posted by Huw,
LEGO has just uploaded pictures of this year's seasonal gifts with purchase to its server.
The sets, 40603 Winter Carriage Ride and 40604 Christmas Decor Set, will most likely be available at different times during December. Spend thresholds are not yet known.
View photos of them both after the break.

I like the carriage but not too keen on the decor set. I'm all spent up for this year so may try and pick up the carriage on ebay.
Lovely!! That horse colour... is it new?
Loving the carriage ride. Very Central Park NYC. Nicely executed. I love the minifigures. They so accurately portray young adults on a date. I love her freckles.
Love them both. Would like multiples of 40604 for my Christmas tree :)
I'll bet Chris McVeigh designed the ornaments. Those look similar to projects he posted on the internet before he became an official Lego designer. He had a variety of designs you could download for free, all reminiscent of these ornaments.
Anyhow, I'll be getting both sets if I can. Both are lovely!
I like both this year, they look good!
Does it strike anyone else as odd that the carriage driver has no reins to hold? Aside from that, it is a lovely set.
The proportions of the carriage seem off to me.
Glad I didn’t spend too much over the Black Friday period now.
The carriage is almost perfect, but oh-so-close. I agree with @Schmopiesdad about the missing reins for the coachman.
Nice carriage, but I do think it looks a bit too big for just one horse to be pulling. But then also all LEGO cars are too big for the scale of a minifigure person. 3300014 is still my favourite and is always the first set I build every year before the rest of the Winter Village. Can't quite decide whether I want it - depends on the threshold.
Come on, it's lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you...

Same horse as 60327.
While 40603 is lovely and all, that certainly does not scream Christmas or even holidays to me at all. That said, I will try to get it depending on the threshold. 40604 is neat but not the kind of things I usually go for.
Love them both. Just got a modular during 2xVIP + 2x GWP, so not sure I'll have anything to hit that threshold. Hmmm
Coachmen always use a whip, that's definitely missing here. Otherwise it looks pretty good!
Lego carriages never had reins but a whip, examples: 6044 6056 6038 6716
J'aime la caleche.Elle me rappelle celle du VIEUX-MONTRÉAL et celle de la ville de QUÉBEC.
Aw, very nice. I'm starting to feel festive!
The Winter Carriage is lovely.
I bet the threshold will be ridiculously high.
Ooh. I like both a lot. The baubles would probably be a good template to make your own, as well, Perhaps using some trans colors for the slopes?
Edit: Somehow missed that those aren't cheese wedges around the top and bottom. So a slight modification would be necessary for my idea.
>Jingle bells refers to one horse open sleigh
>Lego releases one horse open carriage
You had one job
Just joking, it looks cool especially those wheels
The man riding in the carriage has dark gray eyebrows; obviously, he dyes his hair dark brown. I guess?

In past sets with a horse drawn carriage, the carriage driver would have a whip. Maybe TLG decided it wasn't nice to whip horses. But yeah, could have figured out something else, although the horses do not have reins, and no way to attach reins, so I'm not sure what an alternative could be.

Good call! 3300014 is a great set!
Both look nice enough to me but neither is enticing enough to get me to spend money extra in order to get them.
Also, that poor little horse. The carriage is massive by comparison.
I definitely want the carriage! Maybe I can hold off on buying the Orient Express until the carriage is available.
Carriage is lovely.
Nice to know I didn't spend my budget to obtain the christmas market stall.
Hope the carriage is available December 1st.
I get the feeling they'll go and release the baubles Dec 1st -_- so people can decorate their trees. I hope not though.

I checked a few professional sites (US Equestrian at usef.org, CoachmansDelight.com, PetHelpful.com) and learned that a driving whip or riding crop is used to signal the horse when it doesn't immediately respond to a verbal command. Because horses in herds naturally communicate through touch, this is akin to shouting. The American Driving Society has specific rules about "excessive use of the whip" as a form of cruelty.

Part 4599734 does the job for a rider but might not be long enough to reach the driver.
In other news, I would like to see the minifigure scarf come in a few more colors.
Just needs a Kramer head swap and a big can of Beef-a-Reeno.
What happened to that blanket that was supposed to be a GWP for Cyber Monday but then wasn’t? I thought it was meant to be a GWP for December instead.
Quickly, call PETA for animal cruelty! That horse is forced to pull a giant carriage with 3 fat people on it. Should have included 2 horses at a minimum. ;)
They better get a move on! Judging by how slow they ship my stuff, I might get it in time for Christmas 2024.

LOL…that’s a great idea.
‘I’m so keen-o on Beef-a-Reeno, what a delicious cuisine-o fit for King and Queen-o!’
2 excellent freebies hopefully with the fleece blanket to make the 3 threshold levels.
Are we sure this isnt just a companion GWP for 6346109-1? I am talking some awesome Ben-Hur action here.
The prophets on IG say that it both will be available from Dec 1 to Dec 14.
The threshold for the baubles will be $70 USD.
The threshold for the horse and carriage will be $150 USD.
Consider the source, and use the appropriate amount of salt...
This will go perfectly with 21328
Liking the carriage ride, that one screams that its a higher price point (180USD?) to get one though. Most of my LEGO spending is done. However, if they have enough promos, double points, AND if the Orient Express is still available, I may make that purchase, but guessing the TOE will be on back order if not temp sold out my then.
All these years and I’ve still not got a LEGO horse. Maybe now is finally the time.
official comunication from italian Lego Store: 70€ and 150€, from 1 to 14 december

I think the prophets might be right this time. Our local Lego stores in New Zealand have sent out a promo email stating both will be available from 1 December for $120 NZD and $260 NZD respectively which pretty well matches. Our local stores don't always mirror what shop at home are doing, but on this occassion I'd wager that they are.
Now just hope they will be ready when TOE launches. I'm sure I had one occasion when I waited to order something as soon as it was out and the gwp wasn't ready. I think it was the Blacksmith and I had to get something else later to get them.
Just got both with my Orient Express order.
I'll probably get them with my museum

Often all they will use the crop/whip for is to tap the horse, not much harder than a tap on someone's shoulder. Luckily, there are a lot of black whips around so it is easy enough to find one for him!
Also, I think a single draught horse would have no problem moving a 4 wheeled carriage. I would love to see Lego actually produce a Clydesdale or similar somehow.

The info is on Lego's site now, and both these respective numbers are correct.
