Look interesting, not seen the swashbucklers sword before.
The Video Game Guy looks really disappointing as I was certainly hoping for an actual controller piece rather than just a printed tile. The rest however look to be pretty good, particularly the Battle Goddess and Space Miner.
I am still most excited to see the Pizza Delivery Man and Piggy Guy.
^ I think it the sword from the musketeer from series 4 only in gold.
Notice there is a signature of Matt Goerning the Simpsons created on top the video game guy. What could that be? And also it costs 370 yen.
^ The Simpsons figs are on the same page.
I'm a bit disappointed that the Dino Tracker fig doesn't come with a dinosaur for her to track (how hard could it have been for LEGO to include a little Velociraptor mould or some other small dinosaur), but one can always hope that they simply cut it from the image :-)
Otherwise... not bad at all. I'm hoping the Wizard's cape is blue and not that ghastly purplish tint that doesn't even match his robes. And hooray for more short sleeves! I hope this becomes much more regular :-)
Best ones so far are the Wizard and Space Miner.
Bit disappointed with wizard. The printing looks nice but would have prefered the existing hat just in a different colour. It looks like his hat is a new mould, as worn by the baddie in the new Cmf MMO so guess that's a character we'll see in the future.
Nice to get the musketeer hat in brown though.
As above, I'm a bit disappointed by the video game guy, but the wizard looks good. Can anyone translate the text?
That battle goddess will look great hanging out with wonder woman
Is the Miner's helmet new? Feels like I've seen it before. Totally want the orange Ray Gun.
Love the shirtless Musketeer! Got a good laugh out of that to start the day! lol
I like all of those so far with one exception that some others have said - Console gamer.
The figure itself is fine, just the rather lazy joypad they made rather than a molded one (or joystick) heck why not even a lightgun?
And it seems you can now get your very own Lego Lara Croft now!
@Mojoest
The text is kind of bland, it just says "Lego and Collectible Minifigures bring you a new series of 16 minifigures! You won't know which you'll get until you open it!" etc, etc and then it lists the figures.
I really like the Wizard and Battle Goddess, digging the new hat, her skirt and shield. Also like the stand in for the Dread Pirate Roberts!
Not too happy with the Video Game Guy, but not because of a non-molded controller, but because it looks like it's based off the Xbox360 controller. I'm not a fan of the Xbox line. If you're going 1x2 tile, the classic NES controller seems like it makes the most sense. At least close to it as to not infringe copyright.
@DanRSL I don't think his controller is based off of an xbox 360 controller, 360 controllers have the joystick above the D-pad on the left, and the other joystick below the 4 lettered, colored buttons on the right. this more resembles a PlayStation controller, which features a joystick along the bottom of both sides, while the D-pad 4 shape-matched buttons are above.
Disappointing that there is no dino with the dino tracker, but love the gamer guy! Will definitely add him to my collection :-)
I love the wizard. And I'm sure I'll get the wizard once they are available.
My name is Merlijn, which is Dutch for Merlin, which is the famous wizard ;-)
>Serious Love Wizard
Okay.
Also Dino Hunter looks like a Katniss Whatsherface clone.
@Legonizer It looks exactly like the 360 controller with a swapped left side D-pad and control stick, which both being round is kind of negligible. It's the only one to natively come in white and has the same button colors. He's playing a 360, no doubt about it.
I like that at least two of the figures have the two tone sleeves
Who is the battle goddess meant to be? No goddesses or even female humans rode Pegasus, so I don't see why she would have Pegasus on her shield. Athena/Minerva would be the obvious goddess to depict as a "battle goddess" but she wasn't blonde; she's normally depicted with black or brown hair. Artemis/Diana wasn't blonde either.
The dino Tracker makes me think Hunger Games....that being said it still is nice to have a new female character...was kind of hoping the swashbuckler would be a little more Princess Brideish...I really like that wizard. The gamer nad the Space Miner don't interest me much (The space miner is okay but doesn't fit the themes I collect.
Kinda disappointed the dino tracker doesnt come with a dino.
Go to the link and see the whole page of the catalog.
LEGO Simpson Minifigure -> 370 YEN (Japanese currency)
LEGO Series 12 Minifigure -> 370 YEN...
TLG increases the price of minifigure and gives us the two colored arms.
I wished the price change was just a rumor.
And Piggy Guy seems like the Panda from the previous series based on the description on the catalog.
Piggy guy -> a male wearing a Pig costume
What about the online game tie-in?
That wizard would work well as either Alatar or Pallando (the Blue Wizards - from Tolkien's Middle-earth).
Video game guy looks ok, but I'm not sure if I'm willing to pay $4 for an ok figure.
I want that wizard!
Without the beard or cape, he could used as Yensid from Fantasia.
I like the "Battle Goddess"... who is obviously Athena.
The Space miner is also quite good.
The swashbuckler is giving me serious Errol Flynn vibes... that is the second time the CMFs have done that to me now!
The video game guy is okay, but if they had to do a printed tile controller, they should have made it more similar to an NES controller, since they were basically a rectangle anyway.
Hopefully these aren't always out of stock like the LM CMF…
Also, these won't be $4, will they?!
The Battle Goddess is epic! Must have for me! The wizard too is really fantastic. I like them all, though I don't care for the gamer.
Lets hope all of them have back-printing. I am always a little disappointed when they don't have back-printing.
These all look great! Glad to see more torsos with two-colored arms. Can't wait until we get a torso I can use for a "summer" version of my sigfig, who normally wears a bright orange coat.
All things considered, some of these figs are on par with what I was expecting. The swashbuckler is indeed an Errol Flynn type, and the video game guy is indeed a "gamer" rather than a virtual character of some sort. But I did not expect the dino tracker to be female, which is a fantastic surprise. I had hoped that the Space Miner might be a reference to a previous space theme such as M:Tron or Rock Raiders, but the design is clever enough that I have no complaints.
The wizard is brilliant! Love his staff, hat, and cape. Not a classic LEGO wizard by a long shot, but he still fits that archetypical wizard design with his pointy hat, blue robes, and star and moon patterns. The Battle Goddess is also quite clever. Look at that skirt! Incidentally, the white crest on her helmet, the gamer's brown hair with black headphones, the Space Miner's orange gun, and the swashbuckler's gold rapier already appear on LDD in its basic mode, so you might be able to use LDD to predict some of the other new recolors for this series.
I think my favorite fig is the battle goddess, and I love the printed sandals on the toes.
@DanRSL @Legonizer I believe it's a super famicom, or SNES controller it's modeled after
@chrisbstm Super Famicom has the colored buttons but was gray and didn't have control sticks. Plus its about 25 years old. 8 year olds will recognize a 360 controller.
If the "Battle Goddess" is supposed to be Athena, which it probably is, then there should be an owl on the sheild, not a Pegasus.
The pictures are interesting. I rather like the Katniss clone. Did anyone notice her side leg printing??
I don't know why people would think she'd come with another accessory, since she already has two. I thought 2 was usually the maximum any got? Plus, she has the new molded arms, which adds a lot more to her than normal.
The wizard is very welcome. I like the printing and hat.
The gamer is as expected. Again, molded arms, so that looks neat. I wasn't expecting a molded controller. LEGO loves putting printed tiles in things (just look at the Simpsons!). I think they made the printing look like a mish-mash of controllers so you can't pin it to any one system. To me it resembles an older style NES, but with joysticks. I realize they had 2 red buttons instead of the 4 multi-colored, but I still get that vibe. It speaks differently to everyone it seems.
The warrior is awesome. I bet she will be hard to find, 1 per 30 pack. That shield is amazing. I'll have to grab as many of her as I can.
The driller is a weird combo of colors. I don't like it. I'll get one for the 16, but no multiples like I had hoped if it were an older faction.
The price was confirmed to be elevated at the Toy Fair earlier this year. I don't know how people still think it is a rumor. They have new molding techniques which will add investment to the series, plus they have slowly increased them over the last few years anyway. It was about time they took more money from us...
Matt Groening's signature is there because it was cropped from a larger image that had The Simpsons and The LEGO Movie series above it.
Goddess seems to be the most popular, great looking figure. I don't picture Greek Goddesses as blonde, but that doesn't matter much.
It would have made more sense for the Dino Tracker to have a dinosaur baby or at least a dino-themed printed tile, since other than that there's nothing to suggest what she is. I like the figure though, nice torso and new hairpiece plus I don't have the Lime syringe.
Wizard looks great. Would've been good if they'd given us a new/rarer coloured gem (I don't have any purple ones), but I suppose blue matches the figure best.
The Miner is a really nice figure apart from the colours: he seems to have two different oranges, the bleys but then the random dark tan arms? Also think it would've made sense to reuse the paintballer helmet here, but oh well.
Swashbuckler and Gamer have good recolours and are nice figures, but probably won't get either if these are priced £5 (I know US price is confirmed at Toy Fair - is the UK price confirmed?). I just think that price is way too high - I'll get the ones I really want, but will have to pass on the ones I don't want quite as much.
Has anyone else with LDD noticed any new parts that could be Series 12?
@Gregorovich I have noticed a flame yellowish orange jester hat, that might be for the series 12 jester. If you type "608" into LDD's search bar, you get all the confirmed series 12 and Ultra Agents parts. I think I found two new pirate hats, for next years pirate theme, as well.
I like the inclusion of a bow with the Dino tracker, bow hunting dinos sounds awesome. The others are kinda "meh" however. I'm looking forward to seeing the pizza dude.
The Dino hunter kinda reminds me of a female Turok. The space-themed figure is a refreshing touch, not being completely fighting and shooting aliens. I know it's a new piece, but does anyone think they might use the space miners helmet in the Exo-suit? Seems like it would be a cool and different alternative to the helmets we're used to seeing. Getting past the "thrown-on" controller, the video game guy seems pretty cool. (Cool in a sad, lonely, video-gamer kind of way) :)
@dragonboy1
I imagine anything other than classic space visor-less helmets like Benny's from The Lego Movie or the original visor style would be blasphemous for the Exo- Suit.
After seeing the prices in the new Lego summer catalog that arrived today, I'm betting TLG is going to squeeze people for $4 a pop. I don't know what's going been going on with TLG over the past year, but they are pricing themselves out of the toy business at almost $1.00 per piece of plastic.
I like em all except the the wizard. UG-LY!
I like them. Space Miner in particular, he has a lovely, bulky look to him I like.
Perhaps VGG just enjoys his NES?
While I like the Miner, I do agree with some people that the color looks a bit off. Hopefully that's due to the lower quality photo. I don't see some peoples problem with the Wizard, at least he's different from the wizards we've had before. He actually reminds me of Merlin from The Sword in the Stone.
As others have said, disappointing that there is no dino. Just looks like an unused figure from the recent Dino line.
Space miner has made me sad, was really wanting a RockRaider reference. But He is still pretty cool.
Wizard!
All shown minifigures look great so far!
Would be very happy to see a gardener sooner or later. With a nice hat and a watering can in hand. How about that, TLG?
As I can read Japanese, the text below from the catalogue pic confirmed the previous list. Though the Video Game Guy and the Swashbuckler aren't very appealing, the series do raise a new bar and is a great comeback.
Isn't it Series 14 Because the Sims were Series 13
@ Lego City Fan, no, the Simpsons and Movie figs are not part of the numbered series.
