Disney Advent Calendar - Day 8
Posted by MeganL,
The first week of the calendar was definitely Moana-dominated, with us meeting both Moana and Pua and two settings from that story. We also met Ariel, so perhaps it's time to move on to something from The Little Mermaid.
Today we have a section of Ariel's grotto, dedicated to her collection of human objects. In this section there's a box with a jewel and the all-important dinglehopper! Also found here is a statue of Eric, her true love.
I wonder why this wasn't placed closer to Ariel, but I'm happy to have a small build regardless. A little holly wouldn't be remiss here, though.

Though it's quite simple,I love the bust design, think it's just perfect. Very cleverly imagined

... King Triton?
Gotta say, your internet connection is pretty decent for the bottom of the ocean.

Triton might also comb his hair with his trident as Ariel does with dinglehoppers, you don’t know. He has to keep it looking that luxurious and full somehow

It’s funny because much of his country lies below sea level.
Effective, if a bit simple.
-I say as I am surrounded by water and probably fish in it. No mermaids, sadly.
Although the real 'Atlantis' for us is the area between the Netherlands, the UK and the coast of Germany up to about Denmark. It's called Doggerland because in prehistoric times it used to be land until a flash flood (or several) filled it in after the climate became warmer. Animal bones and remnants of prehistoric human activity are often found by mud sucking boats called doggers, hence the name.
Technically the dutch polders reclaimed some of that land. Most of our lakes in the west are the result of the mining of peat (veen in Dutch) that left holes in the ground that filled with rain. Some of those ponds were subsequently filled in again, such as a relately large area around Schiphol called the Haarlemmermeer. 'Schip' means 'ship' for a reason, because there used to be ships there.
Another such area is the continent underneath New Zealand up to New Caledonia of which the current islands are only the top of, called Zealandia.

71033-1 had a similar bust, and yes, it's nicely done.

Haven’t you heard about the intercontinental cables? The ones the CIA tapped into with the blessing of Danish intelligence agencies and government - until Snowden ratted them out that is…
If CIA can tap those, it should be a piece of cake for King Triton ??
A statue for dinner?
