Disney Advent Calendar - Day 17

Posted by ,

The last three days have been dedicated to The Princess and the Frog. Considering we got five days dedicated to Frozen, shall we have another day with Tiana and company, or branch out to another movie? There's just one way to find out.

Oh my goodness, it's a festive build! Today we have a Christmas tree, complete with a gold star on top. Advent calendar designers always have a challenge coming up with new ways of creating Christmas trees. I think this is quite a serviceable model.

I notice that one set of branches is slightly askew - I'll just say that I did that for artistic effect.

Christmas trees in Lego advent calendars are inescapable. Like death and taxes, really, there's no way around them.

All the princesses (and at least one of their pets) have small Christmas presents with them that would fit nicely under the tree, so there's that, at least.

Meanwhile, we've got 7 days left, and we know what six of them are (four are the multi-day build, plus the final princess and her location, both of which are featured on the box), so there's really only one more surprise incoming, at some point in the next week, as we reach the final stretch.

A christmas tree belongs into every AC, period. But it's funnier when something that isn't a conifer is used as christmas tree, like occasionally droids or moisture vaporators in previos SWACs.

I find the avant-garde positioning of the branch on this tree to be a perfect masterpiece!!

The design of the set itself is quite basic, not much decoration, but suitable.

I wonder how large a forest we would make if we put every Christmas tree from every advent calendar together

Hey, just say that it's a natural tree as opposed to an artificial one.

Considering that some of the trees have had snow on them while others haven't, there might be some interesting weather around that forest, depending on how you placed the trees.

Snowbacca wasn't a tree, but was holding one. For those who don't know what I'm talking about: https://brickset.com/minifigs/sw0763/snow-chewbacca

Groot is valid, but has to be decorated. Like, a tree without christmas decorations is just a tree, not a christmas tree.
