City Advent Calendar - Day 8

Posted by ,

We now have a quartet to experience winter adventure, with a cat added yesterday to our previous pair of minifigs and the dog. One thing I have missed, however, are festive builds. If not for the sweaters on the minifigs (and the dog), one would hardly think this is a holiday season at all. Perhaps that will change as we head into the second week of the calendar.

Well, perhaps tomorrow? This is a nice scooter, and if you count the fact that it's red as festive, then I suppose we can call this a festive entry. I hesitate to call this a build, since there's not much here for building. Except for the mini models, there hasn't been much to build in this calendar.

I mean, we were all expecting the Marvel calendar to be the dud because they always are, but the fact that this year, the City calendar has been surprisingly lackluster really caught me by surprise (because last year's was so good). I wasn't expecting that at all.

Again: great if you specifically want the parts. But it looks a bit anemic again. Barely a build and as it often seems to be the case with City Advent Calenders it barely has anything to do with Christmas for days on end.

Could have at least stuck a bow or other decoration on it to make it look like a present and feel like more of a build

It's got a spot for Dreadflipper on the back, and is even painted appropriately for him. How thoughtful.

No E-deco tile on the back, so this must be a gasoline-powered version that’ll create enough global warming to melt all the snow in town.

Or it can be a normalized scooter, who knows!

@BaconKing:
I know not this “normalized” you speak of.

One of my favorite Christmas time activities is watching the potheads cruise around downtown Denver on scooters and ice.

It's a quite festive look. The blood on snow.

Paint?

That scooter was painted silver before Dreadflipper started his day.
