Spider-Man Advent Calendar - Day 9
Posted by CapnRex101,
A tiny version of Miles Morales' car appeared on day eight, inspired by the vehicle in 76244 Miles Morales vs. Morbius from last year. Miles himself will presumably follow.
Find out whether he arrives today...
We actually receive another web-slinger, in the form of Ghost-Spider, also known as Spider-Woman or Spider-Gwen. The minifigure has appeared several times before, but I understand making her easily available in multiple sets because this character has become very popular in recent years, especially after the Spider-Verse films.
As always, I like the magenta accents on her torso and Gwen's pink eyes look perfect beneath the hood. However, it would be nice to see a second pair of more expressive eyes on the other side, since they will be hidden by the hood. Technically, the inside of the hood should be pink as well, but I am not sure how that could be achieved.
The minifigure comes with a pair of dark tan wands, representing drumsticks. Gwen is shown to be a keen drummer in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, so I think these are a fun choice of accessory.
Overall - The same minifigure has appeared many times already, but at least it is an excellent minifigure.

I don't even collect Marvel and somehow even I've ended up with one of these. Spider-Men (and Women) are basically the equivalent to Battle Droids.
I still think the old hood works better on Ghost-Spider. This one just kinda makes it look like her forehead is huge

Pedantry! Spider-Gwen first appeared in Edge of Spider-Verse 2 , the 2014 comic series which led into the Spider-Verse comic crossover, which was a very different version of the film adaption years later. (The comic involved energy vampires who were eating Spider-men across the multiverse. The film was about the Kingpin trying to find an alternate version of his wife and son.) Nonetheless, the ITSV film relatively captured comics Gwen, who was a drummer in a rock band known as the Mary Janes.
Gwen's name is a source of frustration. In-universe, she's Spider-Woman. In official marketing, she's Spider-Gwen. The "Ghost Spider" name was added a few years ago for...reasons, probably to differentiate her from Jessica Drew, Julia Carpenter, Mattie Franklin, and...argh.
I just wish she came with an alternate fleshy head and hair. Oh well.
(And, of course, Gwen is an alternate universe version of the main universe's Peter Parker's girlfriend, who is primarily known for being thrown off a bridge. Oof.)
Abraca-pocus! Pocus-cadabra!
I was like, "Why does she come with wands?" until the drumming was mentioned. Nice touch!

[]£\Dazzler may rightly be considered to be an absolutely useless superhero, but based on her musical popularity alone, she's basically Mutant Taylor Swift.]]
So basically her super power is being able to convince everyone that they really like her music?

Hello, Count. What's up, doc?
Funny enough, I was in Wala-Wala this summer. I bought some good wine, sweet onions, Ranier cherries, and honey on my way to Mt. Ranier.

It's actually spelled Walla Walla and Mt. Rainier. I have no idea, however, if it is, in fact, rainier there.
Fingers crossed for a Josh Allen minifigure tomorrow!
Sticks!

Writing too much editing too little. Check tracks.
Depends on what side of the mountain you're on.
