Harry Potter Advent Calendar - Day 8
Posted by CapnRex101,
I think the standard of items in the Harry Potter Advent Calendar has been good, but it has also been rather repetitive, between similar statues, similar tables and similar minifigures.
With that in mind, I hope for something totally different today...
This pair of Christmas crackers are certainly different and make neat use of crowns and cupcake cases. Clearly, they are massively oversized beside the minifigures, but that feels appropriate for the Wizarding World because Wizard Crackers explode with much greater force than the Muggle equivalent! I am not a huge fan of the colours for these crackers, but at least they are vibrant.
Overall - These crackers are cleverly designed and offer something completely new for Harry Potter Advent Calendars.

I don't really like it, at first i thougt it was some kind of christmas decoration.
And when you crack them open, a handful of LEGO pieces fall into your hands!
It's a shame they are not in House Colours. But clever all the same
I have never heard of a cracker. Here in Durmstrang we don't know them.

I’d heard of them some time ago, but immediately assumed they were some type of food, like soup crackers, oyster crackers, graham crackers, or Goldfish Crackers.
What a cracking design!
Gromit! We forgot the crack-
ers
I'm American so I have no idea what these even are
I learned about these things from an incredibly awkward Christmas-themed Transformers comic story by a writer who happened to be British.

Did that writer happen to be Simon Furman?

If LEGO introduced a line of Christmas cracker mini-sets, I'd reuse them every year. The UK wooden puzzle company Wentworth has some.
