Harry Potter Advent Calendar - Day 23

Posted by ,

Day 22 brought us another dining table, lacking any food, but with a 2x2 jumper plate ready for something on top. I imagine today will provide that something.

Find out below...

An enormous turkey arrives today and this is exactly what I expected, as no Christmas feast at Hogwarts would be complete without one! The turkey element and its attached drumsticks look superb, as usual, while the platter underneath is nicely decorated with golden leaves and berries. The whole assembly looks very festive.

However, its sheer size really overwhelms the dining table. The same could probably be said for food at Hogwarts in general, but I would rather the platter was omitted and the turkey provided yesterday. That would arguably work better for scale and it would vacate today's window for something else.

Overall - I am always glad to see a LEGO turkey and the platter looks nice, but I think the turkey alone should have arrived yesterday.

Bold of you to assume that's a turkey and not, say, Fawkes. (If it is, he'll get better.)

It’s Scabbers, after someone used the Cruciatus curse on him.

Problem with cooking phoenix is that no matter how careful you are when cooking it, it always tastes burnt.

I’ll admit I was wrong yesterday: these aren’t underwhelming, but clearly overwhelming!

The berries tie this together. I don't mind this being a two-day ordeal if it looks this good. The lavender also looks less overwhelming this way, which retroactively makes yesterday's build look better too.

Nah, Pettigrew is more of a chicken than a turkey--though I suppose he's foul* either way.

*fowl (couldn't decide which to use... you get the pun)

This feels a bit illegal with the turkey being pinched on the sides

I'm sure you are aware that transmogrification is not to be used as a punishment for students!!
