One of the most successful cars in Formula 1 history, driven by one of the sport's most exciting drivers, has also been revealed this evening.

10353 Williams Racing FW14B & Nigel Mansell recreates the car Mansell drove in his championship-winning year of 1992.

It is great to see that LEGO has finally seen fit to produce wider slick tyres suitable for the rear wheels, something that was unfortunately absent from the similarly sized 10330 McLaren MP4/4 & Ayrton Senna that was released this year.

The 799-piece set, which includes a minifigure of the man himself, will be released on March 1st next year, priced at £69.99 / £79.99 / €79.99.

Also revealed at LEGO.com just now is another Technic recreation of one of the cars on today's grid: 42207 Ferrari SF-24 F1. It will also be launched on 1st March. Unfortunately, it does not appear to have wider back tyres, so its overall appearance suffers as a result.

View pictures of both after the break.

Fun fact: Nigel Mansell is one of only four drivers who have won Formula 1 and Indy car championships. The others are Mario Andretti, Emerson Fittipaldi, and Jacques Villeneuve. Mansell is the only one to do so in consecutive years, 1992 and 1993.

By in Hungary,

As a Technic fan, it's very annoying to see other collector-oriented themes' (SC, Icons) F1 cars getting printed tires AND wider tires at the back, but not in Technic... utterly saddening.

By in France,

Printed tires!

By in Netherlands,

Ah Shell is back to compete with Octan

By in Jordan,

I'm not really into Technic, so I'll leave the Ferrari to those who are.

The Williams looks pretty decent, though like the McLaren the nose looks a little rough. I'm super happy to see printed and correctly sized tyres though! I'll need to track down a set to upgrade my MP4/4.

By in United States,

Kinda shafted the Technics builders on the tires and printing didn't they?

If they release Andretti's Lotus 78 or Lotus 79 I'll lose my mind. Just sayin'.

Gravatar
By in United States,

They literally just revealed like a hundred of these. We don't need another just for a fancy minifig stand.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Williams looks great, classic livery too.

Might pick up the McLaren now that you could get some wider rear tyres for it

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

Another Ferrari!

Most people would sigh, but i'm a fan of the brand.

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

Okay Lego, these and the other sets are enough for F1 in 2025...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I might have to get a set of those tyres for the McLaren MP4/4, as that's pretty much the only thing wrong with it. I might get the set too - it actually looks pretty decent.

1984 McLaren MP4/2 next, please!

By in Germany,

I guess the Williams is an improvement on the MP4/4 in that it has wider rear tyres than the front ones.
But also typical of LEGO to not do that with the Technic set...
It's unclear what colour of axle bush they're using for the wheels, in some photos it's grey, in others in blue. Blue would make no sense, the Williams didn't use blue wheel nuts.
I think LEGO should think of doing special parts for the nosecones of these older F1 cars, the flat tiles give this and the McLaren a "duck-like" look which simply does not look good.
Also LEGO should learn to stop using curved panels just in front of the halo for the Technic F1 cars, there is no "bump" in there IRL at all, if anything it flattens out there from the nosecone.
At least here have been mild improvements compared to their previous efforts.

By in United Kingdom,

Really like the Williams. Although the nose looks a bit odd in the first picture it looks fine to me in the direct, side-on view, so hopefully just down to picture angle.

Not really got the space for the larger Technic (and got to leave room for 10 Speed Champs!).

I'd like to see a few 50s/60s winners too!

By in Sweden,

Great looking cars, both of them. The Ferrari f1 racers/technic nostalgia is strong.

The price however is a joke. Can’t recall of any other recent technic model being this insanely overpriced aside from maybe the undesirable RC cars

All 10 of the “Speed Champion” F1 cars have been posted to a Lego under new and are available for preorder shipping March 1

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I'm going to have to get Senna's McLaren now this has been announced. Totally my era for F1!

Great... a special bulk deal for ordering all 10 at once might be nice... a 25% reduction would do the trick!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Love the Williams. Now need a Murray Walker fig as well though.

In the US at least I can preorder for the Black Friday VIP double points this weekend.

By in United Kingdom,

Can't help but wonder what they will do next...Schumacher in a Jordan? Prost in a Ferrari? Stewart in a Tyrrell? Villeneuve in a Ferrari? Fangio?

Maybe Prost in a McLaren - with the extra pieces to attach it to the side of Sennas! Sorry, failed to resist...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Lego do have very strange official release schedules! Loads of March releases already announced, yet the widely leaked (and absolutely gorgeous looking) January Modular still remains in limbo.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Nice - my favourite F1 car of all time! I remember spending months saving up for the Tamiya 1:12 scale that came out in 1993.

Looks like they're even trying out the coloured wheel nuts to an extent (blue on one side, red on the other).

Gravatar
By in United States,

Oh thank God! I was worried there wouldn't be a Ferrari this year. Whew!

Now, let's have some dressage pony sets.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Hopefully those wider tyres will be available via PaB or by some other means, for people who have 10330.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Looks fantastic - but on the Mansell car, did I just count 32, yes thirty-two, stickers. And the Ferrari has more!
AAAAARRRGGGGHHHH!

Gravatar
By in Germany,

As for wider rear tires, LEGO should update 10330 to from now on include these as standard going forward.

Gravatar
By in France,

Oh how I loved the FW14 and Mansell, great news !

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

My era of following F1 (no interest at all these days) so that will be a very rare day one purchase.

And will also definitely source the printed and wider tires for the (currently unbuilt) McLaren MP4/4.

Only disappointment in the thread so far is there's just been one hysterical post about the stickers and nothing about the price so far.

Mine too. I lost interest when Murray Walker retired.

I saw Mansell race this car at the 1991 Portuguese Grand Prix, when he was black flagged for mechanics working on his car outside their pir area, and 1992 at Silverstone, which he won.

You can't actually have seen Mansell driving this car in Portugal 91, because the B-spec was not introduced before the first GP of 1992. :-)

The 80's and early 90's are still the best years of F1. This Williams will be a day 1 purchase. Furthermore I bought Senna's 88 McLaren last week just hours after the Williams was announced.

I'm very curious if there will be more old cars in the near future. It would be nice to see more champions. The first 2 cars are from teams who are still active nowadays. I wonder if Lego also has the rights for producing cars of teams which are no longer on the grid anymore. It would be great to see Piquet's 83 Brahbam or Clark's 65 Lotus-Climax.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Gonna need to PaB a set of those Williams wheels to fix the MP4/4!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

great set, bet there be aftermarket stickers to make it more in tune to era, just like MP4/4

Perhaps a https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tyrrell_P34. That would be something different!

By in United Kingdom,

I know I mention this every time something F1 crops up but I still prefer the MOC sets from Rebrickable that RoscoPC creates there - he has already done the Williams in 2013, the McLaren MP4/4, the Lotus 79 with ground effects (and even the 6 wheeled Tyrell with working 4 wheel steering and suspension!) - I appreciate they are expensive to source parts for but if you love this era of F1 as I do too, check out what is possible - the gallery on his page is awesome...

That Nigel minifig looks great! Reminds me of that grand tour episode...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Very excited for this - along with the MP4/4 this was my Dad's favourite F1 car, so it'll be nice to have them both on display to remind me of him!

I think from this era they could do Mansell's 1989 or 1990 Ferrari. The only other really memorable car from then would be the Lotus 99T, which could work using Flame Yellowish Orange (with LOTUS rather than CAMEL branding!).

And if we're going to go full on "il leone" then Mansell's CART Indycar title winning Newman/Haas car which be perfect.

How did I not think of that? Probably because, while I've been collecting the line since it came out, I don't have any Friends sets with horses."

That's why we're here for each other. To collectively think of what we would otherwise miss.

So, I don't think I have any of the old Friends horses with straight legs. The front hoof raised version always made me a little uneasy. Now, I know why:

"When a horse has one front-leg lifted, it can can be a mild threat."

By in Netherlands,

Will they offer two of those wide tires to everyone who got the MP 4/4? Now also some properly printed parts and it stops being a mostly decent but severely flawed set. Senna deserved better in the first place.

Not that interested in the FW 14, but I do want that minifig! As for the car, not bad, at least if they get the prints right this time. That said, did they ever run with those big W's on the side? Totally cannot remember that.
