2025 LEGO Advent Calendars revealed!

Posted by ,

It may only be May, but JB Spielwaren has revealed images of the six LEGO Advent Calendars for this year's Christmas season, which will all be released in September.

As usual, Friends, Disney, City, Star Wars and Harry Potter are accounted for. However, the Marvel Super Heroes calendar has seemingly been retired after four years, replaced by an interesting choice: Minecraft!

You can view images after the break... but beware of spoilers!

The sorting hat is cute. Not enough minifigs in the SW set though!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I certainly need the Star Wars, for Babu Frik.
Also B-2EMO, though I could probably design a better one myself.

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

Very good to get new ones this year.

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

And I must say, the Star Wars one is very impressive. Evil C-3PO, Babu Frik, and B2EMO are welcome surprises.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Was the Marvel one retired, or put down?

Gravatar
By in United States,

wow people are just never happy...I love them all just the way they are

Gravatar

Why does Threepio have his Sith eyes?

If you want to know, watch The Rise Of Skywalker. Actually, don't. You're better off that way. Same goes for the other two sequel movies.

Gravatar
By in Jersey,

Some of the droids I like but.. a tools rack and not one, not two, but three literal boxes of rubbish?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Kawaii

Also we FINALLY get Babu Frik!!!

Realistically though I'm probably only getting the Minecraft one. Pretty interested to see what their first advent calendar is like!

Hey Hey!!!!! LEGO BABU FRIK!!!!

This makes me so happy! I’ve literally waited years for this! I mean, look at my username — I love this little guy! Also, that Sith-3PO and Christmas Jawa make this look like one of my favorite LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendars in a long time.

The Frozen one looks cool, too.

Aw, no Marvel one? Ah well, that’s probably for the best.

I will recommend the opposite. Do they have issues? Of course they do; but that’s Star Wars in general. ;)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I see they’re giving the Marvel one a rest. That’s…probably for the best

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Time for a Kevin Bloody Wilson Advent calender!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Minecraft get an Advent calendar but not the Lord of the Rings???? The Star Wars calendar is awful, complete with multiple weapons racks. It looks like Tony Stark's workshop got raided for this one. I love the change with Harry Potter, well done Lego on doing something different.

A Lord of the Rings calendar would be fire.

I'd like a Jurassic Park / Jurassic World one, too.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I was going to skip this year, but City has got to be had for the space stuff and Christmas tree costume.

Gravatar
By in Hungary,

In the droid calendar, is C-3PO a drum lackered version or the regular/usual pearl gold version?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

That City one is a must have! Space Xmas jumper, alien plushie, great tree costume, an alien, a puppy, a kitten, a bear and a pretzel! That’s a third of the days being awesome!

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Christmas Tree fig, Babu Frik and alien squishmallow are the big winners imho.

I love the star wars one. Just builds of droids, Babu Frik and a christmas jawa. Nice. You can make yourself a workshop for robots.

Gravatar

Some of those new city figs look like they're CMFs!

Gravatar
By in Germany,

The really cheaped out on the SW one...

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Kind of on the fence about the SW calendar. Last time they did a single theme calendar - the Mando one about 5 years ago - there was a lot of filler, and this one seems like it will end up the same. Doesn't matter as Lego knows that EVERYONE will be buying it for Babu Frik.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Is that a toilet in the Star Wars calendar?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Having the SW calendar be a droid calendar is a really cool idea, I’m glad they’re doing that instead of the usual mini ships (though I do enjoy those as well).

Also, BABU FRICK??!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'll probably break my Star Wars streak and just get the Minecraft one. I want that Santa Villager and those sheep.

@gatorbug6 said:

That's exactly what I thought! Is... is that tree guy a new mold?

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

More collectible plushees and babu frik?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

And who said Lego would never do a Rise Of Skywalker set again? It looks a solid set with most the builds designed to interact with each other.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Babu Frik and B2EMO! Brilliant choices for an Advent Calendar, assuming they are characters unlikely to appear in their own sets, unless we get a large-scale B2EMO I suppose.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Star Wars calendar really went downhill without Hans Burkhard Schlömer.

Gravatar
By in France,

I find the Lego advent calendars less and less interesting. They're pretty much the same iteration over and over. Playmobil has pivoted and their calendar make up a real playset in the end, not a collection of random things. I think Lego should head in that direction too (even though they probably don't need me to tell them what to do ^^)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

So they've included Babu Frik so that every Star Wars collector will want to buy it, then thought in that case we can fill almost all the other days with tat.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I like that we get a droid workshop for Babu along with evil 3po and Cassians droid, plus another bd unit!

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

That minifig christmastree is a reason to buy the city advent. The SW advent is dissapointing. But the HP has a great amount of minifigs.

Gravatar
By in Japan,

Only two minigures (one of which doesn't even have full size legs) and zero vehicle builds in the SW calendar????

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

I like the Christmas tree costume in the City calendar. Just looking at the Star Wars one, there aren't as many full size minifgures as there has been in the past, I think. I know this calendar is more droid-based but the tiny figures mightn't be as desirable for me.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

The Minecraft ones works well because all those small builds mean something, you can't really say that about any of the others.

I like the Anzellan in the Star Wars one and I like that it's all figured scaled stuff like the castle and Kingdoms ones from my childhood but only 2 proper minifigs is kinda lame.

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

The modules for the Minecraft Crafting Bench are 6×6. I think you can replace the snow biome on top there with 4 of these little vignettes. One of them can be attached on a 2x2 jumper plate, the other 3 vignettes will just rest on the tiles

Gravatar
By in Poland,

0 BAD CALENDARS????? HOW?
There is always bad one.

I even LOVE SW one. So many droids! Zero stupid miniships!

Gravatar
By in Poland,

SEVENTEEN Characters in SW Callendar. Crazy!
(16+ You can make your own battle droid from pieces)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

It's lovely to see the recent Space theme come through in the City Advent calendar with the mini-builds, small Alien figure and that classic Space logo sweater (with wee Alien 'furby') - nice range of other seasonal figures too with the Christmas Tree, Polar Bear, and the evergreen Mr and Mrs Claus. Oh, and even a nod to pirate on the snowman, nice. And there shouldn't be any SW tax so this should be really reasonable to get in the run up to Christmas. Definitely one I will be looking to pick up.

You know what I'm really surprised they haven't done yet? Ninjago. I mean come on, a LEGO Ninjago Advent Calendar would basically be an infinite money glitch.

(I do kinda want to see Jurassic World though NGL)

Gravatar
By in United States,

In case you don’t want to buy the overpriced Ahsoka’s Jedi interceptor, Lego offers you another likely $45 set to get R7-A7. Not to mention the sw advent calendar has LESS pieces than the interceptor. I think once people realize how overpriced advent calendars are (let’s admit it, you’re paying for a cardboard box), they won’t hate Ahsoka’s Jedi Interceptor as much. I only got the sw Advent calendars fort the occasional clone trooper, so I’ll probably skip out on this one.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm not seeing the problem with the Star Wars calendar. It's clearly focused on play, and I imagine that there's options to build and rebuild lots of wacky droids. And for once, the spare pieces are going to be a feature and not just a manufacturing bonus.

The Harry Potter one is interesting. Pro: EIGHT minifigures. Con: the mini-builds aren't compatible with any minfigure sized sets, unless the characters have all shrunken.

No strong feelings on the rest, although my kid may want the Minecraft one.

Gravatar
By in United States,

...I guess the "tree" in the Star Wars calendar is supposed to be FX-7. It's a little off from the version in past Hoth sets, but the parts could be rearranged to fix that (the 2x2 cone brick should be on the top, not the bottom).

I think I have a thought.

The SWAC seems to be themed to Babu Frik's workshop, and naturally that's the version of C-3PO that people would want to see in that setting.

Also, it's the perfect set for people like me who had no interest (or spare change) for the Dark Falcon, but really wanted that red-eyed 3PO head piece for this very scene. Now, he comes in a far cheaper set (cheap, I suppose, is relative) with the appropriate arm color!

Not me! This and the Palpatine book exclusive are definitely LSW highlights for me this year. I also heard rumors that Ochi of Bestoon might be included with the $1000 Death Star. I'm curious as to why they chose to include him (not that I'm complaining, though). There must be some comic or novel that I'm not aware of where Ochi winds up on one of the Death Stars.

The Friends one has all the core characters & their pets. I think that may be the first one I grab

Wow the minifig selection on that Star Wars calendar is sad. Looks like they bet everything on that tiny gremlin thing from Rise of Skywalker.
I'll probably get the Harry Potter one as usual but the City calendar has a lot of interesting Christmas costumes, which is pretty sweet.

Ochi featured heavily in one of the post-TROS novels and also the Marvel comic series from 2020-2024, primarily the Darth Vader book.

There’s still seven months left in the year. If they’re going to do Christmas-themed CMFs, they’ll likely be in the third wave, which could beat this to market by a couple weeks. Speaking of which, shouldn’t the second 2025 wave have released today? I don’t even remember seeing any rumors about it, much less sanctioned articles.

Gravatar

Gravatar
By in United States,

I am surprised. This may be the first year I don't get any Advents. I like some parts of them, but for how much they cost anymore, it isn't worth it to me. Maybe I'll see how much some of the pieces go for in the aftermarket.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Love the CMF-adjacent christmas tree minifig and the scarves on the reindeer and polar bear!

Disappointed by SW though. I live for holiday-themed SW figs and that Jawa just isn't doing it for me compared to stellar Luke and Leia last year. I guess Babu Frik and Sith-3PO are good to have, but like the IX Palpatine, why now, 6 years down the line?

The Harry Potter Advent Calendar is an easy pass for me. This will be the first time I'm going to skip this year's offering. The builds are cute and have some interesting building techniques, but they seem more appropriate for a mini-Brickheads theme set than a full advent calendar. I see they tried to increase the appeal by including a couple more minifigures than they normally do.

That box of scrap is a Droid.

By in United States,

The city advent calendar really went for broke this year with custom minifigures. Many of those really could have been CMFs.

Also, it's nice to see the alien pilot from 60439 and 60446 in a non-space set. Now that Lego City has achieved peaceful interspecies relations, I wonder if we're going to start seeing these guys hanging out at the mall.

Speaking of which, Olivia also found some aliens in the Friends line last year (42605 and 42602). I wonder if an alien pet shop is in Heartlake City's future?

Kawaii Harry Potter? I love it! I will pretend this set is based on the anime adaptation of Harry Potter that I occasionally wish had happened.

I like the seasonal sweaters, but I think it would have made much more sense if the sweaters matched the Hogwarts house animals (Lion, serpent, eagle, and badger).

Can someone please shed some light on what the animal on the Slytherin sweater is supposed to be? Gryfindor has an owl, Ravenclaw has a Cornish pixie, and Hufflepuff has a Mandrake plant, but the Slytherin creature is a bit more baffling to me.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

It took me awhile to figure out what the SW calendar was going for, but once I twigged that it’s droid-themed and the little bits of scenery all go together to make a droid workshop playset, I get it. I'd have still *liked* another holiday minifig, but this is a cool idea and works well, and I think kids will get a lot out of it.

The City calendar might well be the best yet.

I’d really like a Ninjago calendar and I don’t quite understand why they’ve never made one. (Or Dreamzzz would be cool too, but less of a license to print money.)

Pretty sure that last one is supposed to be a Grindylow, given the tentacles.
