By in New Zealand,

These two sets are nice additions to the theme. Sonic is one of the most underrated licenced themes.

Robotnik in small set <3
Shame there is no new characters. I expected Cream or Chao.

Not something I feel the need to get, but a pair of very solid sets. I wonder if we’ll be getting any more characters from the games.

By in Poland,

There's something cool about this mech, i might get it for my kid and me to play with.

One step closer to getting a Grounder badnik.

In a new wave of Sonic sets, I was hoping we'd get at least one new character (COME ON GIVE ME BLAZE, PLEEEEEEEAAAAAAASE)
But these builds are so nice and cute, I gotta have that van!

I'm hoping next wave gives us some Chao Baby-figs, a Chao garden (depicted on a screen in the Sonic RV) is ripe for a set! It'd especially amazing if they included multiple varieties of Chaos... And maybe even an early form of Chaos (confusing names but still) as a badnik stand-in built in trans-light blue.

Fun sets but still a missed opportunity to get a new mini-fig character in the line.

Those two badniks are fantastic! Absolutely evidence that I was right to criticise the previous efforts.

"I realise that this very much along the lines of "why does Spider-Man need a buggy" and "why does Superman need a mech", but why does Sonic need a truck?

I can't wait for the Fantastic Four sets. I really hope Sue Storm gets a lovely ghillie-suit, maybe Reed can get a set of extendo-grabbers."

I mean, it seems pretty straightforward, looking at the set? It's so he doesn't have to carry his bed, TV, game console, sound system, ping pong table, and entire kitchen around with him.

(Which suggests the secondary answer of "because a house can't move unless something is very wrong with it.")

"Isn't that truck just a recolour of 60418 ?"

Not really? Apart from both being trucks that open up like that (a classic sort of play feature also seen in themes like Agents and Friends), they're very different designs.

They *do* execute the idea pretty similarly (chunk of roof and left side flips over to become a second floor, little extra room in back), to be fair.

I'm surprised to find myself mildly tempted by 77005. I have no real interest in Sonic as a franchise (I only bought 30676 because it had Mixels vibes), but I like the mix of cartoonishness and greebled realism.

These are both great. I’m pleased that Dr Robotnik is finally in a smaller set and that truck is fun with great colours and excellent badniks. The Sonic range really is full of bangers, even if the many unique moulds and plethora of printed parts tend to make the prices a bit painful.
