LEGO Star Wars 75414 The Force Burner Snowspeeder revealed!

Posted by ,

LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy season two will be released in September, but before then, we have a set inspired by the upcoming series, 75414 The Force Burner Snowspeeder!

This set will be released on the 1st of August, containing 349 pieces and costing £44.99, $54.99 or €49.99. Doubtless of note to many LEGO Star Wars fans will be the new canopy, created specifically for the Snowspeeder and perhaps hinting at a standard version to come in the near future.

More images and a short set description follow...

Gear up for fast action play with The Force Burner Snowspeeder (75414). A top Star Wars gift idea for boys, girls and any fans aged 7 and over, this collectable building toy for kids recreates authentic features of the unique Snowspeeder vehicle seen in LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy Season 2. It’s got eye-catching flame decals, an opening double cockpit with a hidden, detachable speeder bike, and a rear stud shooter. Press down on the seat in the back of the cockpit (or the head of the LEGO minifigure sitting in it) to release the speeder bike.

This buildable play set also includes LEGO Star Wars minifigures of Sig Greebling, Darth Dev and Solitus. Each character is equipped with a Lightsaber, including Solitus’s dual Lightsaber with a chain, plus Solitus also has a cool STAP for battle play.

What do you think of the Force Burner Snowspeeder? Let us know in the comments.

In case you missed it, four other Star Wars sets were revealed earlier and there are still more to come, so keep checking Brickset for those!

The Sandspeeder? Somewhere I have a prototype deco of Galoob’s proposed Action Fleet Sandspeeder, which ultimately never got released.

By in Japan,

I have to admit, Rebuild The Galaxy is one of the few fresh new takes on SW with its story, character twists, premise, and general reinvention. A total win for Lego, especially in the choice and expansion of sets and minifigs. (Plus I enjoy seeing who switches to good/bad sides too! XD)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Is that an actual orange lightsaber I see? That would be great to have for Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati! Also, our first Muun minifigure! Although, why it’s not Plagueis (sp?) is beyond me.

Pretty sure you're not allowed to pilot this thing without frosted tips in your hair and Smashmouth blaring out of the speakers. If Guy Fieri were a vehicle, he'd be this one.

I do like the canopy, but considering the entire scheme of this thing - the canopy would then be Fieri's reflective wraparound sunglasses, and I can never unsee that.

I can HEAR these images.

I don't think this is for me. I haven't a clue who any of these characters are even before the "rebuild the galaxy" aspect is taken into account. I understood Jedi Vader and Darth Rey, but not this time.

Bad price, but the canopy will change snowspeeders forever, and that’s a great thing. The orange-y lightsaber is cool and would definitely be a great fit for Cal Kestis. Finally, the Duros looks really good! He definitely should’ve been in the Cantina.

Am I the only one that prefers the old stud shooters to the new tile shooters? They were less bulky, easier to load, and a lost stud is 1% easier to find than a tile. Not sure what they were thinking with the upgrade.

The new ones can launch both tiles and studs.
The studs were very easy to knock loose on the old ones.

"A top Star Wars gift idea for boys, girls and any fans aged 7 and over..." Nice to see that Lego isn't ignoring nonbinary fans. Anyway, I was tempted, until I saw the price. I haven't even gotten around to picking up 75388 yet, there's no way I'm dropping fifty-five buck on a snowspeeder, even one that looks as cool as this. Final thought: I still maintain that "Sig Greebling" is the greatest Star Wars character name ever.

Ah, you’re right! I feel like they’ve been using tiles for so long now that I forgot they could launch studs. Wonder what their reasoning is for including studs vs. tiles in a particular set.

I'm reasonably confident it's yellow, based on the lifestyle images. The 1X2 plates with rails behind them appear to be regular orange, and the 1x2 plates above look to be BYO, and you can see the slopes are brighter than both. This could be wrong if my perception of colour is thrown off by any reddish orange, but I don't think they've used any here.

They still use studs a fair bit (many of this year's Dreamzzz sets, for example). I think the choice often depends on both color availability and whether they want the "ammo" to match other parts in the build. For example, in this set they used trans-orange studs in the build but trans-red tiles for lasers, probably since they wanted to use different colors and by making them different shapes there's less chance of builders mixing up the two.

I don’t know, but plates are far more ideal than tiles, because there’s frequently space on the underside of a model where you can store the extra ammo. Tiles, not so much, plus they change the look of the model, and rarely for the better.

Gravatar
By in United States,

$55 for a snowspeeder is insane for the most compact compact evergreen ship, on par with Eta-2s in size and with only Vulture Droids being smaller. 75259 was already pushing it at $40, and that one had a fourth minifig. Hopefully the price is only this ridiculous to offset the upfront cost of the new canopy and the eventual plain one will be cheaper, but this is 2020s Lego Star Wars, so I doubt it.

I still think Rebuild the Galaxy as a product line is a messy concept; I understand historical staples of the line seeming repetitive and thinking that remixing things with goofy concepts would be fun, but the LSW team rarely pulls a Creator or Technic car with having two color options of the same set on shelves at the same time, so it seems like despite the new specialized mold, it'll probably be another year at least before we get a proper modernized playscale snowspeeder. [Granted, if rumors are anything to go by, maybe the Christmas set this year will overlap with a 2026 set... who knows.] That said, ignoring screen-accuracy, having the gunner seat actually be a drop-out speeder bike is pretty cool.

Re: the whole stud shooter debate: the 2.0 stud shooters are definitely easier to use, don't misfire as often, and aren't under tension all the time, which is a definite improvement, but in cases like this it means that the projectile is less customizable - while there are a handful of ways you can try to build unique projectiles that are compatible with existing parts, we can see via the Mario Kart sets that they'd rather make new specialized pieces for variable ammo types. As such, it's regrettable that there's no actual tow cable and hook on this thing.
