LEGO Star Wars 75430 Wicket the Ewok revealed!

Posted by ,

There has been no shortage of LEGO Star Wars announcements over the past few days and the final set of the August wave has now been unveiled as well, 75430 Wicket the Ewok!

This 23cm-tall rendition of Wicket contains 1010 pieces and will cost £109.99, $129.99 or €119.99, coming with a minifigure version of this beloved character too.

View additional images after the break...

Kids build their love of popular character Wicket the Ewok with this LEGO Star Wars buildable model kit (75430). An awesome LEGO Star Wars gift for boys, girls and any fans aged 12 years old and over, this set makes a cool display and cute desk decor to wow friends and inspire memories of iconic Star Wars: The Return of the Jedi scenes.

The LEGO brick-built figure is full of authentic details and comes with a buildable spear and a treat element (like the treat Princess Leia gave him in an Endor forest). This LEGO Star Wars construction toy also includes a Wicket the Ewok LEGO minifigure, plus an information plaque to complete an adorable display piece.

I was dubious about this model when rumours began to circulate a few months ago, but I think the design looks surprisingly good in official images.

What do you think of this large-scale Ewok? Let us know in the comments.

Not the nightmare fuel of Chewbacca (or Yoda, per my wife).

Gravatar
By in United States,

he looks like he needs to pee

Gravatar
By in Canada,

The minifig doesn’t match the build, so…

Gravatar
By in United States,

I kinda like it. My main problem is I’m not interested in expanding my storage right now, and my browns and tans are slap full.

Gravatar
By in United States,

No. Thank you.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The big question, is it in scale with Chewie, R2, and C-3PO?

Gravatar
By in United States,

OMG cute! Not even that big a fan of Ewoks but this is adorable. The eyes, nose, and little teeth are perfect.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I love it! Will definitely be getting, but I was hoping the rumored price of $90 would be legit. Even $120 would’ve been a bit better. Great execution in my opinion, and I love the Wicket Minifigure too, best version they’ve done by far!

Gravatar
By in United States,

That’s a hard no

Gravatar
By in United States,

call me crazy or whatever but i think this captured the wicket photo i'm looking at on google pretty well.

not understanding the brown minfig with dark brown fur printing though?

He's nine inches, Chewie is eighteen. The plaque says Wicket is 0.8 meters; Chewie must be a little over 2 meters. So this Wicket is a little too big, but I think probably close enough.

I like this. Probably won't get it, but I do like it.

The gaps in the face are worse than Chopper!!!

The stane and the price are definitely a bit awkward. I wonder what the back looks like?

By in United States,

It's funny, because the killer teddy bears used to be almost universally hated when RotJ came out from what I've heard. (before my time) Then, along came Jar Jar, and then later still - the sequels. In the process the Ewoks became beloved, and then so did Jar Jar.

Maybe the same will happen to the sequel trilogy in another ten or so years?

....nah!

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

Do we really need another buildable figure this year?

Gravatar
By in Australia,

That looks terrible and that’s coming from someone who thought Chewbacca was awesome.

If it was anything but an Ewok, I’d say no, but this is the exception.

Gravatar
By in Austria,

I didn't need to sleep tonight anyway. Thanks LEGO!

Gravatar
By in United States,

The face looks off in subtle but really important ways. I get the idea for the tooth pieces on the face but they're not working in the same way as the ones used on the rest of the body. They come across like teeth, and don't look like fur at all to me.

Before Return of the Jedi, it was C-3PO.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I dunno what this is. I'll check Wicketpedia.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Would have been a buy for me if the large fig more closely matched the colouring of the minifig. The teeth coming out of his forehead (trying to look like fur) are also a put off.

Gravatar
By in United States,

What is going on with his stance?? The likeness and build look good, but the positioning of the legs just isn’t ideal at all.

This is a cm shorter than the R2 model, so it should be close.

No, the big question is how difficult/expensive it will be to modify this design into a recreation of the Darth Wicket I made back when I used to customize SW action figures.

@Murdoch17 said:

You never watched HIMYM, did you? Whether or not you hated the Ewoks really depended on how old you were when the film came out. My brother was on the high side of the line, and I was on the younger side. It was actually the same way with Jar-Jar, but nobody will admit to it now.

So...Bricket E. Warrick, I presume...:)

Gravatar
By in Turkey,

Sure,wht not...

Gravatar
By in United States,

Some of us would have reconsidered Chewy if we knew we were getting a bus load of buildable figures. So, if 3PO, R2, Chopper, Chewy, and Warwick are all in scale (roughly), what in blue milk were they doing with the Battle and Destroyer droids?

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Huh, this is actually decent! Still not interested, but this definitely is the first not creepy looking star wars creature.

Gravatar
By in Czechia,

Best buildable figure so far, change my mind.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Not in the market for Lego Star Wars, but if you don't look too close this is pretty good. Just don't look at the face for too long...

Gravatar
By in Poland,

Who buys these? D:
Why we are not getting smaller playsets with Eewoks?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Every parent recognises a toddler toilet-strain face.

While it’s not the minifigure laden Endor playset I wish Lego would produce, I’m convinced there is a buildable thermal detonator hidden about Wicket’s person and that could actually win me over.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I wonder why this is a set aimed at children whereas Chewie was an adult set.

Gravatar
By in France,

Waw I love it, it looks great.
Though now thanks to you guys I cannot unsee the poop face ! ^^

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I like it and a reasonable price for a change. Are that new pieces for the nose?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Never thought we would get a set from Ewoks Caravan of Courage!

If you are unaware of the Ewok short films, (Yes, films plural, it got a sequel)
They are on Disney+.

I cannot reccomend them.

Because the Chewie set was and will always be a thing of nightmares that no child should ever be exposed to ... actually, fair point, as this set is no better.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I always saw Wicket as more of a greyish colour, so I never really liked the reddish brown Lego versions. I mean, I can see that he is brown, but the colour still doesn't look right

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I am generally into these character builds, but I have to admit I think droids and the likes work and look much better. For me, the organic characters don’t translate to Lego as well unfortunately

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Looks good, but can in no way be to scale of Chewbacca, this head is about 15 studs wide, Chewbacca is about 6.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Easy pass, but I think it's a fairly good set.

Ja Ja still annoys me and Anakin.

It looks like it could be the telephone piece?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Needs a TIE pilot fight suit, and arm and leg extension prosthetics, so he can be Lieutenant Kettch!

(quietly waits to see who else gets the reference...)

Joking aside, he actually looks decent? Granted I find more appeal in the brick-built figures than a lot of members here seem to - although even I found Chewbacca's face horrifying...! - but for a very round and furry character he seems a surprisingly accurate depiction... right down to the vaguely unsettling face that's also somewhat true to the movie!

Don't want to own him myself, but I can appreciate the model design at any rate ^^

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Wicket and Wicked announced at the same time. LEGO should have also announced a wicker basket GWP :~P

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I like it! The brick built construction provides a good match to the scruffy, moth eaten appearance of the original character from the film.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Well its a hell of alot better then the abomination that was the Chewbacca attempt, but it still feels slightly off and not for me.

Gravatar
By in Spain,

No poll?

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I like it and I liked Chewie.

Although must admit, I like Chewie far more in person than any image I saw, so perhaps I'll like this even more irl.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The only correct way to display this is among Imperial ground troop helmets.

Decent buildable character. At least he doesn’t have freaky eyes like the Chewbacca from 2023, we all know how that went.

Also happy Fourth of July!!!!!

Gravatar

Love it! Just pre-ordered. Wicket was always my favorite when I was a kid since return of the Jedi came out at just the right time, age wise for me. This will earn a spot of honor in my collection. :-)

@bnic99:
Caravan of Courage at 97 minutes, and Battle for Endor at 94 minutes, are just long enough to qualify as feature films under the most restrictive definition (90+ minutes), not short films (max 40 minutes including credits per AMPAS).

No, it's a piece that just came out this year. I grabbed a couple from OPAB, just to see what they were like:

https://brickset.com/parts/design-6908

The telephone receiver doesn't have a groove at the bottom, while 6908 has a very distinctive one that I don't recall seeing on any other element.

@Zander:
Maybe they'll announce a Wiccan festival scene for Halloween.

Gravatar
By in United States,

For a second, I thought the blown up pic of the minifigure was the Ewok.
One big sticker lol.

a Wiccan festival scene for Halloween. would be nice ...
how would I say this nicely and cryptic... A lot go skyclad...
ow festival scene.. like May Day hmm

a little hocus pocus, halloween, scary haunted theme, just guessing
ghosts witches ... ...

what I would wish they would make, a bigger cauldron 4 spaces instead one or the basket in crows nests, mini apples so can have a nice bobbing apples display.. like in christmas sets have little booths

R2 is 9" so Wicket will be probably by 2" too tall to be at-scale with this trio. Guess you can presume he's the adult version LOL
