Harry Potter Advent Calendar - Day 15

Posted by ,

I believe the mini magical artefacts have been a strength of this calendar on the whole and the Polyjuice Potion bottle from day twelve was particularly well-designed.

Assuming we receive another today, I hope it rivals that bottle...

I am quite pleased with this mug of Butterbeer, making perfect use of an icing element for its frothy top. The trans-orange round bricks underneath also work well and the handle looks fairly realistic. The only minor issue is the uneven curvature around the base, where 1x1 round plates are used, but there was not really any alternative that I can see.

Overall - This mug of Butterbeer is instantly recognisable and like the Polyjuice Potion, it adds some colour to the Advent Calendar.

It doesn't take much imagination to see what it's supposed to be. I, however, have no idea how a minifig is supposed to hold this convincingly.

One of the Bogeyman's horns is the top of the handle

I thought the blue flame was some sort of magical cold flame to keep your beer cold. If the whole handle would have been the same color it would be more convincing as a handle. Definitely not a fan of this year's art style. At least, there are 8 minifigs (even if only with 4 different torsos).

Oh, you guys have a good eye for details. Didn't think about the colour.
