Harry Potter Advent Calendar - Day 12

Posted by ,

There are many options for magical artefacts in the Harry Potter Advent Calendar and I imagine we will receive another on day twelve, at the mid-point of the calendar.

Let's see what it is...

I am quite impressed with this bottle of Polyjuice Potion, including a label printed on a 2x2 round brick. The trans-bright green colour is appropriate and I like how the bottle is constructed, with a stopper on top. Furthermore, the label is nicely detailed, featuring uneven edges and a code like those on potions in Severus Snape's store.

Overall - Polyjuice Potion plays an important role several times in Harry Potter's story and this is a lovely representation of the potion.

Mine got printed on the side instead of the front, and I’m distraught.

Oooh, the super-save-maxi -bottle!

How proportional are these micro-builds to each other? I'm curious if, once the calendar is done, you could make a smaller display of 76391, obviously missing the books and giant owl. But, you know, you could make a little thematic vignette with these things.

I didn't realize that Snape shopped at Costco.

Ye can't get ye flask. But old Internet references aside, I like the way they did it, although a transparent nipple tile would look better than a gray one.

Another item in the HP calender mainly identified by a one-off print. I'm not complaining that we get so many prints, but I wonder how they got that much budget and other sets and themes and calenders seemingly have to scrape by

Tastes like goblin piss, according to Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody.

Probably less recolors, and maybe a lower piece count? I mean, I haven’t really compared it to Minecraft, and the MAC may have done something similar if we weren’t so distracted by how bad the models were. But the SWAC always focused on the models themselves. CAC used to be fairly weak until they stepped up their minifig game the past few years.

Now this is a creative build.

One of those little divergences between film and book; film it seems to taste awful always, book it varies wildly depending on who you’re identity thieving. Harry apparently tastes delicious

By in Italy,

In my opinion, the best one after the lovely Chocolate frog. Immediately recognizable, elegant, iconic and well executed.

Does that mean Goblin Piss is delicious? Does their urine have lots of sugar in it, are they all diabetics?

There's a sentence I wasn't planning on reading, today.
