Holiday gift guide: $50-$100
Posted by Huw,Today's holiday gift guide examines sets costing $50 to $100, in which an outstanding range of 134 sets have been released this year.
There are plenty of 'adults welcome' sets at this price that would make great gifts for those who might not (yet) be AFOLs, as well as many that will be appreciated by kids.
Find out what Brickset staff have picked after the break, then let us know what you would have chosen in the comments.

40820 Up-Scaled Santa Minifigure (£46.99 / $54.99 / €54.99)
This is not the best set at this price point by any means but, like most 6-scale minifigures, it is very good, and would make the perfect gift for someone at Christmas, whether they are a seasoned LEGO builder or not.
Like the exceedingly expensive 41843 Family Christmas Tree Decoration, it can be built this year, then put away with the decorations and enjoyed for many more Christmases to come.

40806 Gingerbread AT-AT Walker (£54.99 / $59.99 / €59.99)
I know, I know, everyone expects me to choose Friends sets (after all, that's what I mostly write about). Also understand that I enjoy Star Wars, but I haven't bought a Star Wars set for the better part of ten years. Until I saw this! The AT-AT is one of the most iconic vehicles in the original trilogy, and presenting it as a gingerbread vehicle is whimsical genius. The gingerbread Darth Vader is icing (ha!) on top.
This is a set I would love to receive as a gift - if I hadn't bought it the first day. And yes, it looks fantastic in my Winter Village.
This set will appeal to Star Wars fans, Winter Village fans, and gingerbread fans alike.
(For those looking for a Friends selection, I would strongly recommend 42669 Beekeepers' House and Flower Garden. Elegant architecture and a multi-generational storyline for the win.)

72046 Game Boy (£54.99 / $59.99 / €59.99)
The Nintendo license is one that LEGO is definitely capitalising on lately, from the plethora of Super Mario sets to adult-focused models designed to tug at our nostalgia. 72046 Game Boy is an almost perfect rendition of a games console that hooked many of us in the 90s and triggered a life-long love of the company.
I would be delighted to receive this as a gift, and it's another example of a LEGO set that would be a perfect present for those who aren't necessarily into LEGO itself—yet! It looks excellent on display, has a wonderful surprise in tactile feel to the buttons, and the inclusion of two cartridges and swappable displays is the highlight on top.

75432 V-19 Torrent Starfighter (£59.99 / $64.99 / €64.99)
There are lots of exceptional sets in this category and my colleagues have chosen several that I would also recommend. I think 75432 V-19 Torrent Starfighter is worth highlighting though, as an excellent model for play or display and one with three great minifigures.
In fact, I think Star Wars performs well in this price range more broadly, also offering 75407 Star Wars Logo, 75433 Jango Fett's Starship and 75434 K-2SO, which warrant consideration.
I must also mention 71834 Zane's Ultra Combiner Mech for its impressive engineering and play value, as well as value for money!

43279 WALL-E and EVE (£59.99 / $69.99 / €69.99)
This pick is an easy one; I have to go with 43279 WALL-E and EVE. The pair is brilliantly designed and at a great price considering their piece count and detail. Including M-O is the icing on the cake! Any Pixar fan would appreciate receiving this set as a gift.
Speaking of Pixar, 21357 Disney Pixar Luxo Jr. is also a worthy display piece with even broader appeal, though not as impressive to me. For Disney Animation fans, they may prefer 43268 Lilo and Stitch Beach House instead.
10355 Blacktron Renegade is great for any LEGO Space fan, and 42674 Comic Book and Game Store is fantastic. Nintendo fans may adore 72042 Prince Florian & Castle Bowser, or the pretty much perfect 72046 Game Boy. My Star Wars highlights are 75416 Chopper (C1-10P) and 75432 V-19 Torrent Starfighter. 75689 Emerald City & Kiamo Ko Castle and 75690 Glinda & Elphaba Visit Munchkinland are also standouts from the Wicked range.

31161 Medieval Dragon (£54.99 / $59.99 / €59.99)
For the Castle fan in your manor, LEGO has another fire-breathing dragon ready to burninate some peasants (fire not included). The alternate phoenix and serpent models are equally majestic, but the main model also includes a small horde of treasure for the beast to protect. Bountiful NEXO Knights tiles are used to illustrate the dragon’s plated armour, and the wings have a nice range of articulation to achieve a fierce pose.
The green and red colour scheme is reminiscent of the classic dragon from 1993, so you could complete the look with Majisto the Wizard to ride on its back. While you’re at it, that's also the perfect colour scheme for Christmas, so why not ditch your current tree topper and slap this on instead?

60466 Bulldozer (£54.99 / $64.99 / €59.99)
Picking up my support of the perennial LEGO City theme is the yellow 60466 Bulldozer set for the $50 to $100 range.
It is packed full of play functions and details and continues the City construction machinery theme from last year.
Modelled closely on the Caterpillar D9 bulldozer, this set is true to real world scale. The bulldozer supports a beautifully assembled brick-built blade at the front, and it has a pair of rear ripper blades at the back. All of these blades can be raised or lowered.
The set comes with three minifigures: a site foreman (Ted Brickle) and two construction workers.
One of the best features hidden in the bulldozer is the ingenious working three-cylinder engine. More good news is that there are no stickers used in this set; it has printed parts throughout.
Matched with last year's City construction machinery (60409 Mobile Construction Crane and 60420 Construction Excavator), the bulldozer has an elephant logo printed on its body.

I got the wallie and Eva for Xmas, but nothing else from this selection. I was briefly tempted by the dragon, but decided against it in the end.
Some classics at this price point especially 40806 Gingerbread AT-AT, 72046 Game Boy and 31161 Medieval Dragon! I reckon they’ll be remembered long after they’re eventually retired.
My favorite from this range is probably 60446. Lots of play potential in this one, I would argue it's even better than 10355, even if the ppp isn't as good.
Shame that both the Santa and AT-AT won't be available until after Christmas. That puts them firmly out of the running for Christmas gifts. Perhaps they're available elsewhere but not here on the UK site.

I hadn't realised that! Perhaps we should check availability before including in our list.
I ordered both more or less Day One. Eventually got the AT-AT but still waiting for the Santa. Clearly there has been a big demand. Great choices though!

Surprised to not see 21349 on the list, my partner is after that one!
If you'd told me, before I opened the article, that there were two Star Wars sets on it, I'd have guessed that @CapnRex101 had recommended one (duh!), but I wouldn't have guessed that @MeganL was the one who'd recommended the other! Also, "...burninate some peasants..." "I understood that reference."

40820 doesn't have an availability window listed, but 40806's page says it's been available since October First.

It was released last year.
Nice selection......3 sets I still want (Wall-E, AT-AT, Game Boy), and most of the other ones are pretty good too.
As for the ones I did already get, but have yet to build: Star Wars droids never disappoint (and I'm not even that big a SW fan, and haven't even seen the movies most are from), so I expect both 75416 Chopper (C1-10P) and 75434 K-2SO to hold up pretty well. Not quite such high expectations for 10353 Williams Racing FW14B & Nigel Mansell, probably not as flawed as the Mclaren that came before, but I wasn't sucha a big fan of that F1 era, I would probably have skipped it.
And two more I think are worth mentioning are 21357 Disney Pixar Luxo Jr (still on my Brickwatch....) and 42213 Ford Bronco SUV (considered it as a gift for my nephew before teaming up with family to get him 42175.....)

On the NL site: "Will be shipped by 16 January 2026"
Well, luckily no hurry since I won't be at home anyway during Christmas this year....
(and I do wonder if I'm gonna see knock-offs of that set in Taiwan....)
Does make me wonder if there's such crazy high demand (I kinda can imagine that in this case), or just very limited stock?
Too many great sets in this range: 31161 60446 10355 43279 60433 10373 76321 are only the firts that come to my mind.
Bonus points to @SetToBuild for the Trogdor reference!
I picked up 10355 on sale a few weeks ago. I just finished putting it together. It was a delight. It retails for $100 but it’s currently on sale and will probably stay on sale thru the holidays. Highly recommend it!

According to The US website, Santa ships in 60 days and AT-AT is OOS. Good news here is that Santa has just been updated to say it will ship by 8th December so I may well get mine before Christmas. YAY!

"This is not the best set at this price point by any means"
Maybe you can replace it with something that you think IS the best set :)
I’ve already built and have on display the Game Boy (one of the best LEGO sets EVER, IMHO!), and Gingerbread AT-AT (so whimsical and fun, great Darth gingerbread fig!), and I bought Wall-E & Eve after reading a glowing review (will build that in the summer holidays with my daughter, after watching the movie with her).
I will buy the Up-scaled Santa when it’s back in stock, and definitely pick up the Medieval Dragon when heavily discounted at one of the cheap department stores here in Australia!
I’m tempted to get the Bulldozer too, if on sale!
So the ONLY set recommended that i won’t have will be the V19 Torrent, and I actually like Star Wars a lot! (original trilogy primarily)…. Go figure!
Blacktron Renegade all the way!!
We wish you a merry AT-AT!
All of these sets, except Santa, I either have already gotten, or plan to get. 42213 I think is also worthy of this list.
Very interesting that each price bucket has had about the same number of sets.
Even more interesting is the continued dearth of great (not good) choices across the 3 buckets. I’m starting to come to the realization that 2025 may be a down LEGO year overall for me.
Here’s to the next bucket!

It was my pick in this price range last year: https://brickset.com/article/116041/holiday-gift-guide-50-100
Good luck getting the AT-AT. Worthless scalpers are already telling it for $100+.
Some great recommendations here. I love 40806, 43279, and 31161.

And the Trogdor comes in the niiiIIIIIGHT!
My pick goes to 43279 WALL-E and EVE
A really fun build of the best Pixar couple!

Nonsense, this isn't a "best set of the year" list (we've already gone through that whole debacle...), this is a "what I'd recommend" list. Those needn't necessarily coincide. The line "This is brilliant, but I like this" comes to mind.
Anyways, I'm pleased to see 3 of my most-wanted sets this year (40806, 31161, 60466) on this list. I haven't gotten any of them yet (I'll wait for sales next year), although my brother was able to snag a 40806 at his local LEGO Store this past Saturday. It's the most popular SW set of the year, apparently, and deservedly so.

As others have said, this is a gift guide, not a best set of the year guide. Big Santa would make a lovely gift, if you could actually get it before xmas...

I'll definitely be picking that one up once I work through some backlog. Heck, I might just go ahead and get it after Christmas (and thus, when I don't need the space for 21280), although I'll probably at least get 21358 built.

HA, same! There's another dino set 11041 Creative Dinosaurs that's I'd LOVE to have and build right now ;)
I bought the gingerbread AT-AT on back-order a few weeks ago, thinking it wouldn't take that long to ship... I guess I'll leave it in the box until next year then.

That's sort of like how I ordered 41706 after Advent 2022 on clearance had already started, and just saved it to go through in 2023.
