Posted by CapnRex101,The second season of ONE PIECE was released just over a week ago on Netflix and introduced Tony Tony Chopper, the Straw Hat Pirates' doctor.

I firmly believe a major factor behind doing a live action adaptation of One Piece was the ability to sell more Chopper merchandise that’s slightly different than the anime/manga version. Nevertheless, I’m pumped.
I really hope we don’t have to wait until next year for a Nico Robin minifgure.

We must support the agenda!

I think it's a documentary about the 1x1 stud

LEGO's latest Ideas set. It has only one piece, but due to part inflation it will cost 79.99 (99.99 CAD)

It can't be an Ideas set, they've done that concept before: 88006.
You'd think they would have released of at least announced new sets coinciding with the new season, going with the hype....
Still, it will be interesting to see what they come up with. S1 had the benefit of mostly rather obvious sets, will be a bit more difficult for S2. I have yet to watch the last three episodes, so no idea about Chopper yet. As for the season so far:
* Loguetown: Smokers trike? I don't see Lego do the execution platform....maybe just the fight with Buggy and Alvida?
* Reverse Mountain: a big Laboon? Not so sure about that....and the Rumbar pirates seem to random.
* Whisky Peak: eh.....plenty of characters, not that iconic locations.
* Little Garden: I don't see them do Brogy and Dorry, nor the creations of Mr. 3. Maybe big scale Unluckies?
Since we already got the Going Merry, I can't really think of another ship for this round....though maybe just Garp's ship? Not all that prominent in the series, but would make for a good set.

The first season cost US$144 million to make, the second season 180 million, and with the third likely at least similar we're already at over half a billion in total.....that's quite the investment to sell a bit more merch ;-)
And Nico Robin can wait....first get us a Miss Sunday!
I think a baby minifigure would have scaled better :( but great to see him here!

Look at all the snow. Clearly he’s freezing.

Better idea: just an instruction manual for $59.99

I knew a stud at Uni called Chopper.

It was conceived as a passion project by Matt Owens, as early as 10 years ago. Chopper merch might’ve been a Netflix/Shueisha incentive.
@WizardOfOss The names have leaked, but I draw a blank at what “Chopper and Dr. Hiriluk’s Wipeout” will be. I’ve only seen the first episode of Season 2. Is the “wipeout” gonna be a set of… uh… a spoiler that happens to Hiriluk? Would be extremely morbid if true and I can’t see LEGO doing it.

Usually only one piece of fried chicken, fries and a drink.
I prefer Popeye's 2-Piece Chicken Deal. You get two pieces of Popeyes’ famous fried chicken, typically a leg and a thigh, for just $2.99. This offer lets you enjoy their crispy, perfectly seasoned chicken at a great price.

The wipeout refers to the episode where Hiriluk challenges Chopper to a skateboarding-contest, but then loses badly when Chopper transforms into a hawk. Specifically, Tony Tony Hawk.

I see it now...
75641 Chopper & Dr. Hiriluk Wipeout (€30)
75642 Loguetown Marine Chase (€60)
75643 Brickbuilt Toni Toni Chopper (€70)
75644 Little Garden Duel (€80)
75645 Castle on Drum Island (€100)
75646 Loguetown Marine Battle Ship (€170)
"Wipeout" indeed sounds a bit morbid....
For the brickbuilt Chopper, would obviously be great if it was a 3-in-1 set, but also considering the price that seems a bit optimistic....guess they rather sell us multiple sets over the years....
The castle and ship seem pretty straightforward, the Loguefort chase sounds like a Smoker focussed set to me. I am curious about that duel though....that sounds more like the two giants than the fight against Baroque Works...
4,000 piece set ship that has space to slot in four copies of 75637

No the "smart" brick includes a set that fell of the shelf and got repaired by a 5 year old
It's great to see the interest and excitement from others around this second wave of One Piece. I know that its pirates [disclaimer not seen the show] and sets can be MOC-ed and the first wave was well received but I can't help but feel that it just means no chance of Lego's own pirate theme any time soon. This second wave pushes that further down the line. We are now over 10 years since the 2015 theme granted with some exceptional sets like Barracuda Bay in the interim - and some Bricklink options. Perhaps though, going with One Piece is not a surprise, with Lego's active link ups with IP partnerships and a strong drive for brand recognition, having product on the shelves which lines up with Netflix etc makes commercial sense for them. The old AFOL in me though laments the lack of a Lego theme and the freedom of expression, imagination and play which it can ignite - and not tied to a particular IP. Will be interesting to see these new sets though, the only current one which piqued my interest was the smaller Windmill Village Hut/Bar 75636
Damn, I don't really watch anime but got into One Piece live action by accident and now I see all those crazy LEGO sets from that franchise. Telephone Snails are so hilarious they make me giggle.
Looks great.
