The second of four restaurants of the world gifts with purchase, 40907 Restaurants of the World: Mexico, has been revealed at LEGO.com.

Like 40906 Restaurants of the World: Japan it has a oversized version of the product it sells on the roof, and it looks to be just as good as the sushi establishment.

We believe that the 326-piece set will be available from the 10th to the 17th of April, and you'll need to spend €180/$180/£160 to acquire it, but that's not yet been confirmed.

Are you planning to collect them?

I’ll be grabbing this one as well, although I don’t have an immediate use for it, unlike the Japanese one!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I'm going to grab all four if I can

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Yes, loved the sushi restaurant, this looks great too. I'm collecting them all so they can be food stalls at my Zoo MOC

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

It’s very good, but with May the 4th on the horizon I’m biding my time for that. Maybe one to get on the secondary market.

By in United States,

Like the first one, this one is so cute! I love the colors, the seats, and the giant taco display. The fig is very cute too, with her gloves and cute apron. I wonder what others they might have planned for the rest of the year? These first two are setting a high standard for them to live up to!

Now that the new season of Dragons Rising is out, I'll probably put in a Ninjago order to get this. I've gotten some of the Legacy sets but have yet to get any of the sets with the new villains.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I like it, but what keeps these from being fun little sets I can just buy at the store?

Gravatar
By in Brazil,

F* this false scarcity and FOMO policy

Gravatar
By in Brazil,

They could make 195 of these.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

It's a shame, but I just don't care enough about these to hit the spend threshold

Gravatar
By in United States,

Quiero esto.

But I'm a bit concerned with the lack of cooking equipment and the prevalence of machetes.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Looks okay, though less interesting to me than the sushi place. And that one already wasn't interesting enough to buy some overpriced stuff just to get it.

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

Just bought the Japanese one on a New Zealand online auction site as am up to date on my LEGO set purchases and next big buy will be the June City sets. Will buy this one online to go with 18 of my MOC food trucks, the 4 Toys R Us Bricktober promotion food stalls and the BDP Snack Shack.

By in United Kingdom,

Excellent little freebie, and sooner than expected! Still several Lego exclusives I'm after, although a couple are already on back order!
And those who don't like GWPs just ignore them. Many like them, and they obviously do their job of promoting early full price sets before they're reduced

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

The GWPs this year have been so good, I got the previous two, now I feel obliged to get this one.

Gravatar
By in United States,

That inverted brown cone should be in a kebab shop. I almost thought it was a horchata tank at first.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I like this way better than the Japanese one. I couldn't find anything I wanted enough to spend $180 to get that one. Now I have to see what I can buy to get this one.

Mexican cuisine does actually have that too though

The meat in Tacos al pastor works just like gyro and shawarma

By in Canada,

I have a seriously large PaB order on the Lego site for quite a while now because the most recent GWPs were not to my liking. This will do just fine! I did not like the 'shops' of the world of last year because they were not minifig scale. These ones, I like a lot. I certainly have another expensive set to buy to get restaurant 3 . And I'm sure there will be some upcoming sets announced later on to get restaurant 4 .

Gravatar
By in United States,

They packed a lot of details into this small set. Looks decent.
Sing it with me!
Burrito, taco taco, burrito, taco taco taco!
Don't think just because I got a lot of money
I'll give you taco-flavored kisses honey
Fulfill all your wishes
With my taco-flavored kisses!

Taco taco, burrito burrito, taco taco
Fulfill all your wishes
With my taco-flavored kisses
Taco taco!

This is my plan as well!

Not really interested in getting these myself, but it does put me in the mindset of making a gingerbread stall, with a giant gingerbread man mounted to the roof, run by a gingerbread man.

There is an Al pastor meat spit with radiant cooking grid to its back. Seems sufficient and accurate cooking equipment to me...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

These are so delightful and I’m thrilled they’re doing four of them. Tacos were one of the ones I was speculating about, too. They could produce ten small food(/shop/museum/etc) places with giant roof signs a year and I’d still do my best to get all of them.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I don't usually collect these but this one looks great.
May put in an order to get it based on May the 4th.
If the sets and/or GWPs aren't good, I can get this.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Are the chair legs and seat brackets new molds? They look cool but at 1 side wide are too small for mini-figs if you can stop them sliding off.

The legs are the same Minecraft box element that they used to make the One Ring table in the Rivendell set. The seat back is just a standard 1x2-2x2 down bracket, which leaves four plates of seat for a minifig.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The single sticker is a bit lacking compared to the ones in the sushi set from this series, but the matching torso here swings it for me. Well, this is a series that is helping us tick off the buylist!

Gravatar
By in United States,

YESS!! I am going to get one of these for my kids and I to have TACO TUESDAY!!!

I would like to see a lot of these, and they don't all need to be GWP sets. Likely end up building out some little stalls for the unlikely foods so I can have a nice Tastes around the World in my Amusement Park (like Epcots Food and Wine festival).

Unlikely Food Stalls from Lego that can make for fun story stalls?
Haggis
Lamb Gyro
Pão de Queijo
Maple Candy

Raw herring.

You have your proud garbage food, we have ours.

Gravatar
By in Brazil,

I think these will be way more successful than the Houses of the World Series as these present a minifigure with every package. I like the minifigs as they give a real live felling to the set, instead of just being a display piece.

Gravatar

Needs little margarita elements.

I just realized how weird cheese bread sounds, and I guess that’s why we use the Portuguese version. It’s also lovely.

What’s weird about cheese bread?

Gravatar
By in France,

A lot of the latest GWP's are fun sets, but they just aren't interesting enough to get me to buy the sets at full price. Lego has just become way too expensive for that sadly

Gravatar
By in United States,

Oh, they're so cute in Mexico!

Here in Southern California it's plain white food truck that shows up at random corner dirt lots to dodge the LA County food vendor license.

"Taco Grande"!

Gravatar
By in Puerto Rico,

This opened my appetite.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Cute, but I can live without this series!

I’m happy for those that are excited for it.

It just doesn’t make you think about something that looks like Pão de Queijo, at least to me. I might be alone in this.

Nope, you’re not alone. It doesn’t make me think of, um…that, either. But three different grocery chains in my area are now selling cheese croissants, and they’re nummy.

Yes. It is a mystery. I'm guessing this is probably Belgium, famous for its delicious tacos. After all, it is said that tacos were invented by a legendary Belgian waffle-maker during a time of great scarcity, but out of adversity, this staple food was born.

"Restaurants of the World: Mexico" is written right on the set box, images of which are included in the article.

When I started collecting LEGO (about 1000 sets now) 40 years ago Stars Wars wasn't around so it was Town sets (and Train, Pirates, Western) that I collected. Town has turned into City ;)

Took me a second to get that one.

Gravatar
By in United States,

As someone who grew up eating street tacos...this set is disappointing. The design doesn't look like anything you would find in Mexico or even the US.

I know they needed to make it 'fit' with others, but besides the meat skewer, nothing looks good. The sign makes 'sense' but again, it's not how tacos are usually marketed, and the cactus...yes, there's a LOT of dessert in Mexico but that's not it.

By in Serbia,

Why aren’t these actual sets? This sucks for everyone who doesn’t live in places with a proper retail / online store system or simply doesn’t plan to buy four major sets within one year. I’d love to get a full collection of these to put on my shelf, but I can’t even get them BrickLinked since they blocked services in my country.
