It's priced at US $199.99, CA $229.99, DE 179.99€, UK £149.99, DK 1499 DKK which is slightly over my estimate but not as high as some had feared. It'll be available to VIPs mid-May and everyone from 1st June.
A full set of images is available on the set details page; the designer video can be watched below:
So, now we have decent pictures of it, what do you think? To me, it certainly looks better than it did in the small pictures we saw earlier in the week although the colour scheme seems somewhat subdued, as other commentators have said. A splash of red on the gondolas would have worked wonders.

That`s amazing! I really, really love it and it will be a day 1 purchase for sure!
It looks fantastic in the video, doesn't it!
I think it's cool, but I really can't understand why they didn't make the inside of the wheel also in white...but not in black like how it is now...
I'm not sure. I like seeing more detailed pictures. It is a touch expensive for what I normally spend on sets. Plus, I have backstock to pick up before I could even think about this.
After seeing pictures the other day I was looking into the Grand Carousel and what I could modify to make it a better price, but then I looked up and saw my Winter Village Carousel and was more than content with that. So maybe I'll just MOC my own smaller version of a ferris wheel and call it good.
But if I come across $200 with nothing else to spend it on, then I'll pick this up.
Edit: After watching the video, I am impressed at the size of this thing!
It looks incredible.
Such a nice display piece. They did a great job with it. I hope this means we'll be getting a new fair ride each year. How cool would it be to have an entire LEGO fairground?
The only thing that I don't like is that the balloon design (although is far better) doesn't match the ones on the Balloon Cart (40108) from last year
Looks magnificent! I agree with @OscarWRG that the balloon is not as good as the ones from the Balloon Cart, but the set is still amazing. I will definitely try to get my hands on this one.
Didn't care for it much from the initial photos. See the close up and the video, and realise the scale of it. Looks awesome.
Finally, a reasonable place to stick all those minifigs that are piling up. Jamie says three is the limit, but I bet I can stuff 5 or 6 in there is they hold on to the edges.
I prefer the, shall we say, 'gentler' colour scheme. I think garish bright lights worked for the Fairground Mixer because that was a carnival ride, and it's what you expect for a travelling show that comes alive at night. But ferris wheels are often built to remain stationary, and if not then the design aims to be more timeless. I think the blue struts and yellow fins work perfectly as a skyline effect.
My biggest problem right now is where to put it. I think I need to rearrange a lot of stuff. And I need to buy the Mixer now. Not going to regret it in a couple of years that I haven't bought it. Don't like to much, but I'm not risking it.
Oh good, I'm not the only one thinking of getting this as a display for various minifigs. Quite the impressive model. $200 is a lot, but looks to be worth it.
I would LOVE to get this, but I'll see if my wallet can handle it after a couple BSA summer camps. They did a brilliant job.
Like others have suggested, this looks far, far better in the video than in the photos.
Looks like there are no stickers, a must have for me.
Love it! Not sure there is much else to say!
Maybe next they'll do a roller coaster! This looks awesome to me, priced about right.
I hope this means that they'll create a new carousel to go with this awesome set!
Would be nice with some LEDs on the wheel when motorised
@Dursagon: I really hope so because the one from 2009 seems to me like being outdated and a bit off compared to the Mixer and this new FW. Not mentioning I do not own a copy and it is pricey :) Actually I think the Mixer and Ferris Wheel go together quite well.
Honestly, I prefer the new balloons. The inverted dome+ dome combination lessens the ugly gaps that the two upwards domes created when inverted, and the inverted dome will grip the bar better, since it can stick inside the dome, rather than just being inside the hollow stud. Shame there's only one. We could have gotten blue, green, and orange inverted domes!
It's growing on me, but I still can't seem to get past the gondolas stretching past the actual wheel. That just looks odd to me.
Love, love, love it!!! Well worth the wait. A definite VIP buy for me. Then I can display it with my mixer... Missed out on the carousel as I got into Lego after it had retired and I don't have the £2000 going spare to buy one on eBay!! Fingers crossed for a roller coaster next-that would be, in the words of Emmet, awesome!!! :)
It looks fantastic, the colours look great and the size is impressive. I also like the variety of minifigs. But I'm not into very expensive sets (that one will be expensive for sure), I prefer to buy couple of smaller sets instead of one big. If I had that much money (It will cost like half of my month salary ;) ) I would consider getting this one, I like the concept of build and cheerfulness much more than all modulars. Same thoughts for the Fairground Mixer.
Amazing! LOVE the pic of the little girl who's lost her dollop of ice cream. I agree with the guy above who questioned why they made the insides off the wheel black.
At £150 it isn't as bad as it could have been! I'm planning on making a Lego city with modular buildings and this set will look excellent in it!
I will buy it and mod some the gondolas to be blue and red (in addition to the purple, green and yellow), and it will be good to go.
$200, not as high as I feared but I don't have yet that amaunt set apart (phone and food bills).
I think this Ferris Wheel is one of those sets that will be remembered for a long time. Everything in it just has that LEGO feeling to it; that feeling of brightness, and happy, and bricky goodness. Not many sets capture that essence so much anymore, at least not for me anyway.
I was surprised the number is pieces is that high at first. Having a closer look, it adds up now. The first thing I noticed in the photo is a minor assembly error next to the upper right yellow gondola - had to smile. The only thing I am not happy with are the large trans yellow pieces next to the hub, would have preferred some some brick-built decoration instead. But the whole thing looks fantastic nevertheless.
Am I the only one who discovered its very repetitive build for USD 200 ?
Not that impressed now I've seen it close up.
It looks very nice, but I don't get why $200-350 sets don't have the power functions included. This one especially!
This set is a must have for me, I think it'll be great in a Lego City as a London eye type attraction. I really regret selling my Grand Carousel set now!!!
This looks wonderful, hopefully I can buy it soon.
That is a spectacular feat of LEGO engineering. Incredible. I know what I'm asking for this Christmas. xD
Looks great. This weekend I'm going to work on converting my Mixer to a "park model" attraction. Removing the wheels and securing it to a large grey base. The Ferris Wheel will be a great start to building a LEGO amusement park.
if it wasn't for the limited colours available in the dish it would be very simple to create your own colour scheme on the gondolas. This will be great!
Regardless what you think of the model itself, you have to tip your hat to Jamie for selecting the coolest torsos. Every one of these are the newest, freshest designs, and they all go perfectly with the amusement park theme.
It's just one more example of the exquisite level of detail associated with Jamie's designs.
I love it. I just wish the gondolas came in a range of colours like red, green, blue, yellow, orange and so on instead of just yellow, green and purple.
Otherwise it is a must have.
$200 is a bit high, but considering there are almost 2500 pieces in the set it would be a little too much to ask for a lower price tag.
I still feel like the set looks unfinished somehow, but it looks amazing regardless.
Looks a bit better from this view over the others we've seen. But one thing that still bugs me is the color scheme of the cars. Why yellow, green and purple? The green especially is odd because it clashes with the grass ground. I'm surprised they didn't stick with the scheme of the mixer and make it primary colors yellow red and blue. Not only would it not clash so much, it would make the carnival out to be more of a cohesive whole.
Would have been the most awesome ever if it could light up as well. Being new AFOL, I'm not ready to try my hand at that myself. Literally cannot wait!!! So excited.
I've never been into the carnival sets before, but this looks so brilliant that if I can find the money and space to display this, I will most certainly buy this. This year is becoming more expensive by the day...
Add it to the list. I love and hate new releases.
This looks awesome. I like it much better than the Mixer. Personally hope Lego continues this theme with stand-alone, impressive rides and ditches the trucks. I actually think it is a good thing Lego didn't use the same colours as the Mixer. From my experience, rides at amusement parks and traveling fairs don't have matching colours.
I admit that I didn't like it when I saw the initial post a few days ago, but now I have seen these, I love it. Now there are two issues, where do I get the money from and how do I tell the wife? A great looking set and I can't wait.
I wonder if it'll come with some promotional polybag. Like balloon cart last year.
So excited for this. This is an amazing set ... and it's massive, I love it!
@Huw It's safe to say that the 10248 Ferrari F40 is a LEGO Creator Expert set (Advanced Model), it's still listed as a Speed Champions set in the database, which is a shame.
This is fantastic! I worked at an amusement park so this set will bring me some good memories.
cool
must buy.
