CMF series 15 figure list found

Posted by ,

Hoth Bricks has found a list of the figures in collectable minifigures series 15 on Amazon.fr which, when translated to English by Google, reveals that the series will contain "the Queen, head of animal control, the jewel thief, a tribal woman, the dancer, steering wheel warrior, wildlife, scary knight, the wrestling champion, the man in costume shark, man awkward, kendo wrestler, astronaut, laser robot, the concierge and the farmer."

I wonder what the 'man awkward' is?

The series will be officially launched in January, so will probably turn up someplace before Christmas.

By in United Kingdom,

I think "faune" should be the satyr that had been discussed in Eurobricks and not "wildlife" as suggested by Google :-)

I'm hoping "Homme maladroit" is maybe an interpretation of a clumsy person with lots of bandages/casts or with crutches. That would be cool.

Both Kendo wrestler and wrestling champion seems a bit odd, though the translation is probably more like Kendo fighter.

Worth pointing out that the French "danseuse" means a female dancer and "volant" also means "flying", though flying warrior is also rather enigmatic!

Hopefully "concierge" will be more of a porter or bellhop than a caretaker. The Friends porter in the Grand Hotel set was very cool, a minifig version of him would be great.

By in Viet Nam,

I'm so exciting for "the man in costume shark"

Gravatar
By in Australia,

"The concierge" is a bit intriguing.

By in United Kingdom,

steering wheel warrior

Do you know who i am? Ronnie Pickering minifig, hehe.

By in United States,

"Man awkward"? HEY! They must have stolen my likeness!

These sound great, return to generally random characters, sounds like a few female equivalents to existing ones. I'm guessing "man awkward" may be a goth a la "spooky girl".

By in United Kingdom,

Wondering whether "The Queen" will be a generic (perhaps medieval) queen to complement the series 13 Classic King or perhaps an actual Queen (Queen of Denmark or UK; the UK Queen has just become longest reigning monarch ever in the UK). Definite article suggests an actual queen but this is probably an over literal translation as I think French can use "la" as indefinite.
Awkward/clumsy man might be a Mr. Bean type character and "Steering Wheel Warrior" sounds like something out of Mad Max!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I was thinking "Awkward Man" could be a Jerry Lewis type of bumbling klutz.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Auto translate often doesn't rearrange words into the correct order...so man awkward is most likely something like Clumsy Man as LostInTranslation suggested.

Gravatar
By in United States,

So for the "steering wheel warrior" we are probably taking about a "wheeling warrior" - aka - a Dervish.

Gravatar
By in United States,

As LostInTranslation says, it's probably kendo "fighter". Since kendo is swordfighting, I'm not sure how someone wrestles with swords.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

My translation rather than Google's: Queen, pest controller or zoo keeper, jewel thief, tribal woman, female dancer, flying or winged warrior, satyr, scary/evil knight, wrestling champion, shark costume guy, clumsy guy/klutz, kendo warrior/kendoka, astronaut, robot with laser, receptionist and male farmer.

My guess is that these aren't the official French names, but descriptions of images by someone at Amazon in France.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Another space guy and robot is always welcome in my collection.

Also when I translated awkward into French in google translate and back again I got "embarrassing"

By in Belgium,

If I can help with my native French input, Zander has it all correct and better than I would have.

I'm a bit disappointed, though. after reading the article, I was hoping for some kind of Mad Max minifig for the steering wheel warrior, but there's absolutely no way to translate it like that from the original 'guerrier volant" that's in the amazon description :(

By in Netherlands,

"Le faune" might be a "Faun", the half human-half goat mythologic creature.
EDIT: oh ok, some people already said Satyr. I wasn't aware of that name!

Gravatar
By in United States,

The shark costume better be like left shark.

Gravatar
By in Spain,

All mythological minifigures are welcome in my collection :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Head of animal control?

SHARK SUIT GUY?

I know I've been saying this since Series 11, but this might be the first series I actually buy!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Series 15 will be orange so might wanna change the image

also, a ton more 2016 descriptions and listings are on Amazon.fr

By in United Kingdom,

Lots of interesting minifigs this time round. :)

Queen: Most likely Queen of UK / Denmark or a Classic Queen.
Head-of-animal-control: Usual pest control guy, maybe a new rodent part and syringe for accessories.
Jewel Thief: Similar to CITY crooks, maybe with a new hat and new jewel.
Tribal Woman: Most likely a female counterpart for Island Warrior. Maybe a Druid-type fig?
Dancer: No idea. Hopefully not a male Flamenco.
Steering-Wheel-Warrior: Almost certainly not a mechanic that throws car parts at everyone. :P
Wildlife: Female explorer...?
Scary Knight: Yes, like S7's evil one. Hopefully this will not be a rehash, but a decent foot-soldier.
Wrestling Champion: Evil version of the S1 Super Wrestler...
Man-in-costume-shark: Yay, more suit-guys. :)
Man Awkward: Perhaps something like Mr. Bean...?
Kendo Wrestler: Swordfighter, probably. How interesting, when we've had loads already...
Astronaut: Can we have a Classic Space one in orange, please?
Laser Robot: We had one already.
Concierge: Porters are fun, but we need a CITY / Creator EXPERT hotel first...
Farmer: Finally. New duck piece?

Mixed feelings about this series, but hopefully it'll be OK.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Left shark!!! ??

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

A concierge means not so much a 'porter' in my opinion. It's a groundkeeper, like groundkeeper willy for example :) that's how we use the word in my language (belgian dutch)

Gravatar
By in Poland,

As a hotel receptionist the concierge minifigure would be a must have for me :D

Gravatar
By in United States,

I must say, individual figs aside, it is a breath of fresh air for me to be seeing a regular series of collectible minifigures again! It has been too long!

As for the actual figures, it seems like a pretty mixed bunch. Things like "laser robot", "scary knight", or astronaut all sound like they could potentially be rehashes (though I could very well be wrong, I've proved wrong on my minifig predictions before.

On the other hand, I have high hopes for some of these- shark suit guy, kendo warrior, even farmer, could all be great. I'm also holding out for this "winged warrior" hoping for some sort of valkyrie. That was the first thing that came to my mind at least. Could be a great addition to some of our Norse minifig collections!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Shark Man cant wait, hope the queen goes well with the king and looking forward to seeing what animals we might get. Thanks for the news and to @Zander for the translation.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The Amazon link already leads to a 404 error.

Brickset Effect, am I right folks?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

^ Almost certainly!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm hoping the farmer includes a barnyard animal, the goat from 7189 Mill Village raid would be great.

Gravatar
By in Poland,

According to rumors on Eurobricks farmer will go with pig.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The "Steering Wheel Warrior" and "Man Awkward" are...clumsy... translations of "Clumsy Man" and "Winged Warrior". No drivers in this series.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I do wonder what the utility of an Astronaut figure is when Lego just released an entire Astronaut line in City. It's weird when they include a figure who already has a hefty counterpart in an existing line, like the Police Officer.

"Jewel Thief" is another weird one since 50% of Lego City's residents seem to be burglars. My guess is that he'll be more like a cat burglar than a striped pajamas person, maybe wearing an all black outfit and carrying a grappling hook or something.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I am guessing the astronaut will be more prototypical and have a flag of some sort. Possibly inspired by the apollo missions or a modern astronaut on a spacewalk. Possibly even in a flight suit.

I hope the jewel thief includes a new jewel (new color or new mold)

The guy in shark costume makes me think of Chevy Chase and old-school SNL
and the land shark sketch.

I hope the concierge evokes the Grand Budapest Hotel...

Gravatar
By in United States,

At this point, the concierge could be anything. The term has been perverted from its original meaning to encompass various wacky things, especially here in the US.
I grew up in France and a concierge was either an apartment building manager ("la concièrge est dans l'escalier") or the front desk clerk in a hotel.
The faun is most definitely a satyr, and the warrior is flying, not using a steering wheel. :)
Google Translate can't even begin to understand context.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@ Zrath: That's why I only use it for Latin occasionally. :\

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Google gave me an Aztec type warrior for the french version of 'winged warrior'. We've had something similar (series 11) but it's not unknown to have figs on a theme. I think the 'awkward man' translation is more likely to be 'clumsy'. Be great to finally have an official fig that's bandaged or on crutches.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I think that the ''Winged Warrior'' could be some sort of fighter pilot, maybe with a new crash helmet* piece.
(*They're very unique helmets, because fighter pilots always wear hats with built-in sunglasses)

Either that or they'll be unoriginal and make something out of a Greek myth...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Queen: to match playing card style King & Jester? Expect Knave or Jack later?
Man Awkward: AFOL male getting caught by his other half buying loads of Lego sets.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@ NBJMarks, The dancer can't be male. Please see my translation above.

@ ResIpsaLoquitur, I don't think the names are official French ones; they're probably descriptions by someone at Amazon.fr who saw pictures of the minifigures. If the thief were a cat burglar, the minifigure would probably have been described as a "cambrioleur" or "monte-en-l'air". I suspect that it's a criminal of the City type with stripy shirt and toothy grin.

By in Ireland,

I'm surprised there haven't been images available of this series yet, with just two months before their inevitable release. Can't wait to see them, but had hoped for another musician character or a new sports player - a golfer is such an obvious choice, really surprised they haven't done one yet.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Three cheers for "man awkward!"

Some serious chinglish going on here!

Gravatar
By in United States,

They need to bring a Hockey Goalie into the mix

Gravatar
By in United States,

Lost in translation for sure. Hoping that 1)Kendo wrestler = fighter = swordsman = new Samurai 2)Astronaut = Classic Astronaut like Benny and the ExoSuit figs and 3)Scary Knight does not = Evil Knight rehash. Otherwise unimpressed with this round.

Gravatar
By in United States,

What is a stering weel warrior!?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Still no marching band figures.

Gravatar
By in United States,

If anyone has picked up a US Club Jr. for November/December, the back cover has pictures of a few of these. The Clumsy man is a Mr. Bump-esque character, with a cast and crutches. There's only 5 of them on the back cover, and not all of them are new figures.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@ Jener8: Thinking about it, we're supposed to have a Satyr, and so "Awkward Man" might me more "Satyr". Just a thought... And the one you suggest would be a complete rehash of the "Where are my Pants" Guy.

Gravatar
By in France,

Faune is a satyr. In english, the Del Toro's masterpiece is called Pan's Labyrinth ; in french, Le Labyrinthe de Pan but this is a mexican/spanish movie originally named El laberinto del fauno = Le Labyrinthe du Faune (fr) = The Labyrinth of the Faun (en) and I can't wait to see if this is a scary faun like in Pan's Labyrinth or a cool faun like in Narnia... I bet on the scary one, to go with the Minotaur and the Goblin :)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I guess Awkward Man is the guy with the crutches.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The cartoon image showing what appears to be at least three of them (shark costume guy, clumsy guy and queen) can be found here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=113150&st=400entry2365021

With the greatest respect to Huw, please ignore his Google Translate translation and use the one above provided by me instead. I'm a human being (I think) and AFOL; Google Translate is an electronic dictionary.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Steering Wheel Warrior? Sounds an awful lot like Mad Max!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I've heard a rumor about a possible Disney CMF series for next year. Does anyone know if this is true or not?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I can't wait! Finally another normal series! I'm really sick and tired of all this stupid stuff like the Simpsons.

Gravatar
By in United States,

"Land Shark" vs. "Left Shark" - the new generational determiner.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@ Jener8: Someone was told the Gargoyle's headpiece would be used for one of these figs. Whether that's legit or not, IDK, but that's where the rumours of a Satyr emerged from.

Gravatar
By in United States,

A Classic Space style astronaut in any color, especially one that has never been done before, would be welcome.
