By in Germany,

oh my goodness. I need to have tihis one... NOW!!!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I knew there was a reason I bought Ecto-1 :-)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Will it be classed as a Lego Ideas project though? Sorry I missed that point before. Quite a few features are different and I really like it. With over 4000 pieces I think I will buy a few of these just for the pieces, it seems like great value for pennies per piece. My Bricklink store is just about to get a whole lot bigger!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I think this looks great, but I simply cannot justify purchasing one myself at that price when it's not in a theme I'm already invested in.

Gravatar
By in United States,

^^ Nope, LEGO made this on their own. In fact, the very reason why the project was turned down is probably due to the development of this set already occurring at that time.

Gravatar
By in France,

MANDATORY!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

It looks nice and I'm loving the number of pieces, but I don't think I'll be buying it. I suspect I would display it with my modular buildings if I did buy it, and I never open those up to look inside, and the facade of this building isn't enough to justify $350. I imagine that the interior is amazing though, maybe when we pictures of that I'll be convinced.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Wow, as good in the flesh!! Can't wait for the box pics, it'll be huge!!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

So, based on the G+ image up above, here comes the obligatory "STICKERS? It's a $350 set and there's STICKERS?!?" comment. :)

I'm a little disappointed TBH, and I hope the inside is exciting. Do love the slimed Venkman minifig though.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Hmmm. For that price tag I would have thought it would be, bigger. Looks like my money is going to the Creator Expert Modulars then...

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm glad they're displaying it at the real New York firehouse there. That's a real location in downtown Manhattan that still has some Ghostbusters memorabilia on site, and they'll let you walk in for pictures. A few tweaks to the Lego set, and you have a real New York building there.

Gravatar
By in United States,

This has to be one of the worst unveilings of a major set like this in some time. Where are the good quality pics?

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

@TheBrickPal Although LEGO posted only one picture on their Google+ page, the picture they did post there is in higher quality than the ones posted on Facebook. Main advantage of Google+ ;-) You can still zoom in on the details there...

Gravatar
By in Czechia,

I wonder if Ecto -1 will fit through the garage doors!

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

A guess a 'holy guacamoly!!' is in place here

Gravatar
By in United States,

^^^ Thanks, but you can give Huw credit for editing that link in, so his opinion that the pictures are rubbish is no opinion of mine. ;-)

Gravatar
By in United States,

^^^^^ and "rubbish" remark. AFOLs are truly spoiled and complain about the stupidest things. Picture quality of the first media push? They do it this way on social media first because they can get the initial images out faster and reduce the likelihood of leaks. Higher quality images can then be pushed into the media stream...it seems pretty typical! :-/

OT comment -- why couldn't they do RED doors?!

Gravatar
By in Norway,

WOHOO! And it says "available starting January 2016"!!! ;)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

They are 'rubbish' because they've been taken with a wideangle lens close-up which has resulted in distortion. It's thus not possible to discern the true quality of the set and its design :)

It wasn't the size or quality I was referring to.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Looks great. So glad I bought the Ecto-1! This will be great to display at Halloween.

@ChicoCheco: the official set description says the Ecto-1 will fit inside.

Gravatar
By in United States,

$350?? No thanks.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Brick bank and this...January I will be mostly poor.

Gravatar
By in Greece,

A really really nice set but i cant see how i can justify to myself or my wife, paying 350 pieces of whatever for something that is essentially a toy... I will stick to the ecto-1. Memories are stirred with the car too :) LEGO is getting more and more expensive these days. And price per piece can be seriously manipulated using smaller and smaller bricks. Good luck to the more fortunate ones getting it. Judging from these preliminary pics it looks rather nice :)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Looking closely at the minifigs looks like we are getting a "slimed" version of Dr Peter Venkman....

Gravatar
By in United States,

I like it. I think Ecto-1 will fit in just fine - that would be a pretty big design oversight if it didn't. $350 is pricey but at 7.5 cents/piece, it's actually not a bad value. Looks like it will be time to drain the VIP money again. Nice to get the "slimed" version of Venkman instead of another repeat.

Gravatar
By in Norway,

From the same source: "The firehouse, which will retail for $349.99 on shop.LEGO.com, features opening walls for easy play access"

-Opening walls! Like the HH ;) But shame on Lego putting stickers on this massive premium set.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Cool now i hope Lego wil make us happy with a Ghostbuster minifig series 16 movie characters

Gravatar
By in Poland,

Mesa wants.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Stickers are a bit ridiculous...although easier for people who can't buy this and are building their own.

On first sight, it looks like a nice set, but not $350 nice. I'll have to wait to see the interior. But at $350, it would be most of my LEGO budget for the year, so I doubt I will get it.

I am currently building my own modular scale version. I put it on hold while this was being announced, but I think I will get back to building it after all. This looks like it will be too big for Modulars otherwise.

So far, I've seen better MOCs of it for the exterior, but maybe it will grow on me.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

This will be an excellent addition to my collection. Slimed Peter is a nice change as well. Can't wait to see the ghosts.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm not invested enough in Ghostbusters to spend $350 on this Lego set, but I'm very glad Lego is willing to make a set like this, and I hope it succeeds. As the proud owner of the Helicarrier, I hope they remain willing to create big sets like these for what may be comparatively niche audiences.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

It looks nice but want to see more of it before I decide. like the other minifigures

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'll wait to see how it fits in with the modulars. This would most expensive set I've ever bought tied with the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier. But I'm way into Marvel and modulars and not so much into 'Ghostbusters', although I like the films.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Really hope that there is a colander hat to put on Louis Tully's head!

Gravatar
By in United States,

This one will be a day 1 buy for me... Just watched Ghostbusters the other night, fav movie of all time!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Looks very similar to most good GB headquarters MOCs.

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

Looks great; although it'd be better if they used dark orange instead of the red.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Easy pass.

Gravatar
By in United States,

It says 2 story in the description, but isn't that a 3 story building..?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I like how they added a crack in the sidewalk with the "mood" slime coming out..

Gravatar
By in United States,

I don't blame haters for complaining about stickers, but I'm still going to buy it... Haven't purchased an Ecto-1, so I'll need to scoop that one up in anticipation!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I think they nailed the minifigures. The Library Ghost is my new favorite, with the Zombie Taxi Driver not far behind.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

BEST... THING... EVER!

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Paul: It does look like three stories, I was thinking the same thing.

Also, I don't see the hinges for it to open up. Maybe they are on the back? I do see the layers where it looks tiled, so that sections can lift up off each other like with the modulars. Overall, I like the look, but will need to see the interior to tell where all the pieces went.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

4,634 pieces so like the 3rd biggest of all time for something that is not a long standing theme, still seems odd to me, mind you it doesn't look super big to me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

^ Perhaps the garage(?) level isn't considered a floor?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

If it's as good on the inside as it is on the outside, then I'm going to need a serious boost in cash... :(

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Why is it dark red instead of dark orange. I think it would have looked better in this colour, much more like the real building.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I'd have preferred dark orange to dark red, but still a nice-looking exterior, albeit predictably pretty much a composite of the various MOCs out there.

I'm very much looking forward to seeing the interior, which promises to be lovely and detailed given the parts count.

Gravatar
By in Spain,

This set is cool, but is mostly targeted for wealthy people due to the fact of the high prize. I know LEGO had to pay royalties and the total of bricks is important , but as I said before, the prize (350 €) is ostrageous, not affordable for people like me, simple students who survive by their pay.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Looks great, but there's no way our household will be getting one. With the Ecto-1 and now this, though, I'd say it's a safe bet that we'll get the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man at some point over the next year or so.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@NeilCrosby
Thanks, I wondered why they weren't red too. It's been a LONG time since I saw the film. Red looks nicer, mind you, but I think sticking with the film is the best decision.

Gravatar
By in Switzerland,

I love buildings so will definitely be getting this, probably as a late Christmas present.

The hinge to open up the station isn't obvious. There are some sloped bricks on the roof (top left and top right) facing us that could separate and open up a portion of the building. Looking forward to more photos.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wonder where they stuck the containment unit since that was in the basement in the movie.

Curious to see if they tuck in some Easter eggs from the video game to fill out the interior since you don't see whole lot of it in the movie. Portrait of Vigo anyone?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Ectoplasm bubbling out of the pavement!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Sadly, I won't have enough money to buy this and the Constraction sets next year, so this is another miss for me. Very dissappointed about that, as the set looks perfect for City displays...

Gravatar
By in Puerto Rico,

Seems a great set for fans.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Looks like 32*48 studs? (one 32x32 and one 32x16 baseplate). Also from high-def photo looks clearly modular rather than hinged.

Gravatar
By in United States,

A castle like this, LEGO, please. One day, a castle of this scale and detail. Oh I can dream...

Gravatar
By in United States,

Welcome back Mr. Fire Brigade :p.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Well, I think it looks fabulous. Nice to see they put some proper hair on Winston and Peter... I really like all the figs. And it's quite possibly the 3rd largest LEGO set ever made. Too expensive to even consider purchasing though.

Wait a minute... what color are the walls?

But it looks ridiculously similar to the Ideas submission. This is beginning to disturb me; although I would be thrilled to have a set based off of one of my rejected Ideas submissions, the fact that they pay people who get their design passed doesn't sit well with me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

It is listed as an Ideas set on the French Lego shop at home site so someone will get paid. Click on the pic on Hothbricks and it takes you to the Lego site.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

We need Hell Dogs and Mr Staypuffed :-)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Isn't that what IDEAS is...a platform to take ideas that are wanted in LEGO format???

Why pay someone else royalties when we don't have to? How much money does the 1% actually equal I wonder.

The set looks better after the Hi-Res picture, but I'm still torn based on cost. And it is upsetting buying Ecto-1 and then basically getting the same figures again. Yes, I know there are differences, but it is ultimately the same figure.

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

C'mon LEGO, bust out the press release and images already! We want to see how it looks inside!

Gravatar
By in United States,

OMG I love it! Might have to buy 2. One just build straight up and then use the other for pieces. So nice!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

If I'm not mistaken, this is the 3rd largest set ever released (piece wise).

Gravatar
By in Australia,

This looks awesome!
$500 price in Australia, need to start saving...

Gravatar
By in United States,

At least this will finally plug the gap made in my Modulars street when I deliberately passed up Fire Brigade to get Town Hall.....

And of course there's a reason why it looks so much like all the good MOCs. They're all copying the same building; how many different ways can there be to make it look?

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

€350 in Germany, €390 in France, €400 in Holland. There is no way to justify these enourmous changes in Euro-prices

Gravatar
By in Switzerland,

Very nice building! Can anybody tell me why the door is in black whereas it is red on the real building ?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Now can we please have quality pictures for other 2016 sets. ;)

Gravatar
By in United States,

^^ Reading on Shop at Home. The width doubles from 9" to 18" "when opened up". I'm envisioning a Kwik E Mart style hinge system.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

If this is to be marketed as a Lego 'ideas' set does that blow the theory out of the water about only making small sets between 20-60 GB pounds in the ideas range?

I'm a ghost buster's fan and this would be on equal cost to the death star I bought several years ago. For some reason I'm not as keen to splash the cash this time. Maybe the interior pics will convince me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I really hope this opens up and the interior detail redeems it. For now, it looks like a very expensive set that is very boring to build.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Not paying $350 for something that is the wrong color.

The MOC got it right -- dark orange bricks and red main doors.

Gravatar
By in United States,

That's an incredible price-to-part ratio, although I'm curious how it has almost 5k pieces when it doesn't look that much bigger than a modular.
The window over the main doors looks awesome.
It must have some crazy interior details to have as many parts as it does.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Some of you people crack me up......$350 for this set is pretty decent considering it's over 4600 pieces! What did you actually expect the price to be!? $199?!

I think it looks great and can't wait to have my ECTO-1 beside it.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

$499.99 in Australia - that is just ludicrous.

I saw $349 clicking the lego link and thought, meh, not so bad all things considered.
Change the region and... forget it.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Everything looks really nice and I'm very tempted, but STICKERS!?!?!?!?!?!

COME. ON. It's getting to the point where we can't keep saying "Lego is a high quality product so naturally demands a premium price" if they keep pulling this nonsense. The last time I even saw a toy decorated with stickers was the 80s, yet Lego keeps on doing it! They even double-dipped Dana Barrett's legs and included arm printing, but they can't PRINT a few tiles?

For the sets clearly directed at AFOLs and hardcore enthusiasts, NEVER use stickers! EVER.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

$499 in Australia is actually cheaper than I expected. It's a big wad of cash but better $ per weight than the Helicarrier I think.

Gravatar
By in United States,

It's boring, it's plane, it's $350....and I like $350 better than this.....plus I never really liked the movie :)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I am a huge ghostbusters fan, went to see the movie 3 times when it was in the cinemas in 1984!!! This set is a must have January purchase for me along with the brick bank. I can't really afford it but what the hell, that's what credit cards are for lol!!! 2016 is looking like an expensive year already and there is still many sets from 2015 I haven't got yet. One thing, they should've included a Walter Peck mini fig.

Gravatar
By in United States,

oh man. well, this will be the biggest set I have ever gotten. I can't wait to see the interior.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Curious if the need / desire to fit the ECTO-1 drove the size. Once the doors and interior were to ECTO-scale, the rest of the building "needed" to be the size it is. Just thinking out loud...

Gravatar
By in Australia,

YES a Rick Moranis minifig!!!

Best minifig ever.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

"It just seems a little pricey for unique fixer-upper opportunity, that's all..."

Interesting they chose grey and red instead of tan or reddish-brown. The colours of the real building are somewhere in between... a very reddish brown and an off-white/light tan.

The front of the building in the first film only has the "4 Hook & Ladder 4" and the blue-backed stars for one shot (when it's decrepit). For the rest of the film, there's nothing out front besides the Ghostbusters sign (first a text banner, and later the logo). With the addition of the red lights, this set actually reflects the look of the firehouse in Ghostbusters 2 (besides that "2" logo that never made sense). Of course, if you hate the second film and want to be really accurate to the first film, you could easily remove those features on the front.

One thing the designer got very right: the black doors within doors. The cartoon and toys had red doors, and the real building currently has red doors, but they had black doors in the film (to match the interior shot in LA which had the black doors). The designer even included the A/C unit on the window (which most MOCs seem to lack).

Personally bummed out about the blue one-way sign (why not black?). The blue looks really weird to my North American eyes. They could have included a manhole out front, too... the guys do emerge from a manhole in the second film, and there's one right outside the real building, so I think that's a very small missed opportunity.

Would have preferred Walter Peck over the zombie taxi driver (as cool as he is), just because Peck is so integral to be able to play through the storyline.

The description on the LEGO Shop has me excited about the interior! Wonder if they'll stash a Vigo painting somewhere inside (like they did in the Ghostbusters video game)...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The description says that it comes with a Dana minifigure but looking at the image there is no Dana, only Zuul.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Even though I've only seen Ghostbusters 2 (I really want to see the original), this looks fantastic. The price, although expensive is a much better deal than the Helicarrier (Hellicarrier: 2996 pieces for $500, 5 minifigures, GB HQ: 4,634 pieces for $500, 10 minifigures including slimer and 2 smaller ghosts). But I've still got so many sets from this year I haven't bought as well as the bank next year.

Gravatar
By in Norway,

$430/€390 in Norway. Not too bad for this massive licensed set.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Looking at the hi-rez photo on the set description, it would appear that as well as modular style lift off sections (roof, and halfway down between the windows is obvious), the left side of the set swings open - see the join in the roof line where the tiles and roof slopes align, normal modular design would have these always overlapping. My bet is those 2 odd slopes in the roof, left near the front and back left side, are the hinge bricks.......

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Odd that it's an IDEAS set, as Waller's project got thorugh last year with no mention of a Firehouse coming. Disappointing to see that it won't be part of a theme, I would have liked to get some cheaper ones...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

....although it can't open like that all they way to the floor as the baseplates are clearly one 32x32 and one 16x32 stud. Hmm maybe this won't be so boring to build as I first feared.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@NBJMarks: Presumably, it is marketed as an IDEAS set because the theme originated from IDEAS. I think they did that with the 4 Minecraft Micro Worlds as well, because I had a Lego catalogue that had The End Micro World under the IDEAS branding. Also, I don't think this has any links at all to Brent Waller's project. They will have been planning a set of this size way before that review started.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

A huge $500 set from a 1980s franchise? If this set doesn't scream AFOL, I don't know what would :)

Interesting though it is, I'm more excited about the Brick Bank and the Tardis, mostly because I can afford those (even though I'm an AFOL myself!), and because I know my kids will enjoy them.

Obviously we only have the outside to go on and no info about what's inside, but it just feels sooo huge. How many do they actually expect to sell? How many can afford it and who has space to display it?

I'm certain they've done their research, but I guess I'm nostalgic for the days of 200+ bricks per set which were easy to build while still offering tons of playability. Yep, that's how old I am :)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@ pagaini88: Looking it that way, it makes sense. The Ghostbusters project was probably given the green light because a set was already in the works. Perhaps we're going to get "anniversary" sets. We had The Simpsons and Ghostbusters, so...

@ Lego Husky: Life-size models of the 1960's Batman characters would scream AFOL louder. :)

Gravatar
By in Germany,

new window on the right side of the front door?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@NBJMarks, do these exist? Shut up and take my money!!! ;)

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

I do like the printed arms with the logo's on the Ghostbusters minifigs

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

The fact LEGO is producing this is amazing all by itself.
Nothing has influenced a big part of my childhood as much as Ghostbusters, so I'll have to start saving..

The actual building seems to have more of a sandstone (or limestone?) colour which, IMO, makes for a more beautiful look combined with the reddish bricks. The grey/red combination LEGO choose makes the HQ look a bit "bland". They did use that sandy colour on the lower front part of the modular Fire Brigade and I wonder how the GB HQ would look with that!

It is indeed a three story building, not two, like it says in the description.
Most elements seem to come from the first movie, but there is also a "toaster with slime"! :-)
Interesting that they specifically mention that the "Ghostbusters™ minifigures come with decorated arms." No need to buy these custom-made this time then.

I will not be able to sleep and eat until the designer video is published!!
Speaking of that, where is the designer video for the brick bank?

Gravatar
By in Denmark,

Also the Sydney Opera House is an anniversary set.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@NBJMarks: Oops! I got Brent Waller mixed up with Sergio512, who had a Ghostbusters HQ project rejected a while back. I thought you were talking about that project, not the original, approved one. But still, I doubt this idea came from Sergio's project. They probably planned this as soon as the original project was approved, which is why Sergio's didn't make it. I think it's not going to be listed as Waller's project because only one submission passed the review, and it would be weird if that was made into 2 sets.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

But what a huge difference in price between Germany (€349,99) and The Netherlands (€399,99) ! This is rather ridiculous!

I guess I'll have to figure out a way to get this set from a German LEGO store on a trip to Germany, or arrange a German house-address so I can have the set sent there while ordering it in the German LEGO.com...

Gravatar
By in Poland,

It looks too simple on the outside. I like Brick Bank design a way more. Anyway, I wish I were Ghostbusters fan - at 4600 pieces that would definitely be the buy. But I'm not, so it isn't. I'll keep dreaming about pirate ship / castle / LOTR set with such a piece count...

Oh, by the way. Shame on you TLG for the stickers. The horror...

Gravatar
By in United States,

@pagani88: I went to the Lego shop website, and the set had the Lego Ideas logo on the set page where the theme usually is, so it could very well be another Sergio set.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Absolutely amazing and a definite want. The jury is out on whether to buy it though. Will have to see the interior. With it being red, I probably have most of the bricks already. And I just bough the monster minifig series for my own Halloween/Scooby Zoo/Ghostbusters displays...

Gravatar
By in United States,

This is what sold me.

Firehouse Headquarters doors can open to fit the 21108 LEGO® Ideas Ghostbusters Ecto-1 inside!

Gravatar
By in Canada,

@DanRSL: It's a high-quality product with high-quality stickers. I know many AFOLs don't like stickers but acting as if sets with stickers are somehow inherently defective just ends up sounding whiny.

I'm aware of a number of products even from the past decade that use stickers. For instance, Beyblades, which I collected as a teenager, would often include lots of tiny and fiddly stickers. I believe Gundam model kits also regularly include stickers. There's a current series of My Little Pony figures that are assembled from a sprue and include a sticker sheet for decoration. I believe there are even still Hot Wheels sets that have stickers. LEGO is hardly the only company using them anymore, and LEGO stickers are generally much easier to apply than many of these examples.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

"Firehouse Headquarters doors can open to fit the 21108 LEGO® Ideas Ghostbusters Ecto-1 inside!"... This thing just keeps on getting better and better!

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Aanchir Ok, so it sounds whiny - but you hit the nail on the head, Lego sets with stickers are inherently defective. Thanks for coming up with the perfect succinct term.

As for Gundam and other model kits, no one seriously uses the stickers, but they're there for grade schoolers in afterschool clubs. Similarly, everything else you mentioned has an age range of about 4-8.

If you want to look at premium adult toys, look at someone like MondoTees. Lego could be up to that level, too, if they put in the extra effort.

Gravatar
By in United States,

"Would have preferred Walter Peck over the zombie taxi driver (as cool as he is), just because Peck is so integral to be able to play through the storyline."

True, but an Obi Wan Kenobi head on the same body the modders are using to make custom 10th Doctor, could work pretty well for Mr. Peck!

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

They're sure taking their time with that press release

Gravatar
By in United States,

Yes, stickers. Boy, some of you are whiny.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@ USAgent: Yeah, I agree, be glad. How are you supposed to MOC with printed decals? We moan about them even more.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@thisisteekay - A Walter Peck would've been good, but not at the expense of the mix we're getting. Since this isn't a regular theme, we probably won't get another chance at these characters, and I think Dana and Louis outrank Peck on most peoples' priority list.

I could possibly forego Janine for Peck, but she at least actually worked in the firehouse.

More likely, adding Peck would've meant losing one of the ghosts. And that would've been boring. Ghostbusters should have ghosts to bust, even if they weren't actually in the firehouse. I just think of it as picking two cool random ghosts to include. The library ghost and taxi driver fit that bill.

On a side note, I love that there's going to be a huge new Ghostbusters set, but part of me is sad that we likely won't get a final battle with a Zuul, terror dogs and Stay-Puft. I was hoping we might get that some day.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Of course for the Americans, 699 VIP points would be at stake if you order this now!

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Even though I never watched Ghostbusters, I think I'll still buy it just for the outside look, for the piece count and because it can replace the fire brigade that I didn't get. It is a flaw that it has stickers but I still like it.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Many games commentators say that Dimensions is not really aimed at children, and likewise, this is screaming - adult fans of Ghostbusters and Lego! The films are decent but I wasn't a child of their time and don't really see the big fuss so that means almost £300 more money for Star Wars.

Having said all of that though, I do love the pretty authentic looking construction, bar the dark red bricks, and I certainly love the minfigs. Maybe this attention to detail could transfer to the rumoured UCS Echo Base?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm about as a big a Ghostbuster fan as you'll find, but $350 is just completely beyond what I'd would be willing to pay. $350 for Lego bricks? I'm sorry, but thats nuts. I literally built my own proton pack replica for less then that!

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

Still no interior pictures? And where's the designer video for Brick Bank? Strange lack of communication with their customers from the TLG.

@Padraig
They like to keep us waiting for more news and only gradually updating our wish lists for 2016...
By the way, did you send my 16x32 baseplate already? ;-D

I thought that the first $200+ Lego set that I would buy would have been Batman related. This completely changes everything. I think I will save up for this set. It looks amazing! Can't wait to see the interior. At least we can see a peak of the Vigo painting in the top window.

Gulp... $350? Um, no way -- it's not that even very complex of a build, you could make a nice MOC for much, much less. And if you bought the Ecto, you have the key minifigs already to go with it.

This looks fantastic, a tad out of my price range though. However, should it not have dark grey walls as in the film? Red looks too much anyway and the orange is wrong too. To me it just looks like a City modular Firehouse with some homage to Ghostbusters attached.

This set is a success of biblical proportions! It looks absolutely amazing! For $350, it also looks like one of the only things I'll be getting next year. Slightly disappointed by the color being red rather than orange, but it looks fantastic all the same.

And the doors were definitely red when GB1 was filmed.

Love the look of this but at £274.99 uk price will probably stick with my Star Wars builds. Great building shame about the price!

It appears the set is not on the lego webshop anymore, and still no press release.
