Friends Advent Calendar Review: Day 22

Posted by ,

Happy Winter Solstice everyone!

Today’s model relates back to yesterday’s catapult, which I thought was for a simple snowball fight, but it turns out it was for a game at the Christmas market! Today we have a set of 3 cans stacked on top of a wall constructed from two 1x2 tan log bricks and a 1x4 lime tile, on a snowy base with a couple of the flower ‘bracelets’ in red and green.

Each can is composed of a plain 1x1 round brick – red, green and blue – topped with a 1x1 round tile in the corresponding translucent colour. The use of tiles instead of plates means that if the cans are hit with the missile from yesterday, they are guaranteed to go flying anywhere, rather than being fixed together.

This makes the catapult from yesterday even better in my opinion, as it enhances the play feature even further. The colours are attractive and bright and although none of the parts are rare, I think they are quite useful, in particular the log bricks which can be used to add detail to an otherwise plain wall. I think today’s model also deserves a score of 4.

By the way, the third set of alternative building instructions can be found at the link below:

Uhm, the week 4 alternate build spoils the remaining two days' builds...
