Images of summer Star Wars sets
Posted by Huw,
Official images of five summer Star Wars sets have emerged today, on Amazon.co.uk, which lists them with a release date of June the 1st. They still have rather weird descriptions like "LEGO 75148 "Star Wars TM Confidential_Retail 5" Construction Set (Multi-Colour)" so chances are they shouldn't have been posted yet.

Yes! A new Luminara figure!
The fact that the minifigures don't yet have their bases photoshopped-out supports the 'shouldn't have been posted yet' theory.
Defiantly will be getting the resistance x-wing, held out from the poe dameron one when i heard this was coming
Only interested in encounter on Jakku but that can change as I may end up not buying that and concentrating on other more interesting sets (Ghost Rider Team Up).

it looks like the x-wing is exectly the same as last years x-wing, I don't know where those extta pieces go. and I hooped that the x-wing was ligth blueish grey, it looks like it is medium blueish grey.
Nice sets! Quite tempted by the first one, and by Encounter On Jakku...
Great sets!
The A-Wing vs TIE fighter set looks like the most fun to me, but $90 for two fighters, 700 pieces? Steep.
Why is everyone standing on those dishes?
WOW! With those prices I'll not be collecting the sequel trilogy sets. Not entirely sure how they can justify that, licensed or not!
Hmm, they seem to have tweaked the design of the X-Wing from Poe's; it seems to have a shorter nose and stubbier wings. It means it looks more the ones in the film, but I still the nose should slope more...
Clone Turbo Tank more like clone baby tank hahaha
This is really cool!
^ a quick stud count shows the x wing is the same dimensions as Poe's. The only difference looks to be the removable hyperdrive.
Do we really need another x-wing ? Only set im interested in is the rebels set, but as pointed out the price is high. Seems like a lot of the new sets are just churned out for profit and no real thought gone into them, UCS Hoth set is a prime example. Can remember the last set I got excited over, think it was UCS Slave 1, id like to see more sets like that, not more rehash's of existing sets.
It is frustrating that the T-70 X-wing design has not been improved since 75103 Poe's X-wing Fighter as that set is littered with issues.
I do not mind frequent releases of redesigned models as long as significant improvements are made on each occasion. 75149 Resistance X-wing Fighter and 75151 Clone Turbo Tank both fail on that count.
@Yooha That's actually how Lego takes most of their product shots. The dishes are there to help the minifigs balance on one foot for running poses, and are SUPPOSED to be photoshopped out. However, particularly for Star Wars, that often doesn't happen, especially not in the first images that surface.
Who is the male Jedi in the Clone Turbo Tank set?
Great to see 75148 story elements. All sets at least £10 too much though.
I really want the new X-Wing
dmm32552 That is Quinlan Vos, he has a few episodes in the Clone Wars series and must show up in Episode 3
Quinlan Vos does not appear in Episode III but he is mentioned and a scene featuring the character on Kashyyyk was planned during production.
Shouldn't the Teedo figure in the Jakku set have shorter legs?
If Lego starts creating their own LSW models, why not make the (school) bus into a set. That was way more interesting than these 2.
Also - first LSW wave where not a single set seems interesting to me. This must be new. Vaders TIE looks nice but no way I'm going to buy that funky A-wing from the TV series. But this might be how we get classic vehicles in the future: through Rebels / Rogue One sets with strange colors and even stranger minifigs. Not really ideal for an OT fan if you ask me.
They didn't fix the crappy wings of Poe's X-Wing? COME ON, Design Lab! You had an extra 9 months!
The two original LEGO models look good, and I quite like the CTT and Rebels fighters sets. Encounter on Jakku looks horrible and the blue X-Wing has absolutely no improvement on the last one. I'll wait for video reviews (or instructions, so I can build 'em in LDD) though, so I can get a better look at these.
Well.
Looks like I'm buying more expensive Star Wars sets in a few months.
Yes, that includes the second X-Wing in a year.
I might consider the X-Wing, since I don't have last year's version. But with the rumors of a T-65 version for Rogue One, I might be conflicted in which to buy.
Most of these sets that we have images for at the moment don't interest me, except for Encounter on Jakku and A-Wing / TIE Advanced. Encounter on Jakku obviously has some nice minifigs and although it's way too bright I like the Luggabeast, at least for its build. I'd like to see what the section of the bazaar looks like from the other side though.
The A Wing and TIE looks like a combination of two £30 sets so it should be £60 right? The A Wing looks to be one of the best versions we've had, albeit with Rebels styling and the same could be said for the TIE Advanced. I like that Sabine now has her blue hair and Vader is using the mask from the 2015 Death Star Final Duel set.
... But all I really wanted was images for Rex's AT-TE from Rebels!
That A-wing looks amazing! At a glance, it must be one of the best star-fighters produced in Lego form . I wish they hadn't packaged the 2 ships together... I'd like 2 A-wings but I don't really need 2 of Vader's tie :P
Tarkin and Dengar look fantastic! Very excited.
@Obi_G to be fair, the more overpriced sets are one from Rebels, and one from Ep III. The two from Ep VII aren't too horribly over 10c per piece.
Interested in Encounter on Jakku but hoping it would be bigger. Obviously mini figs and that animal Teedo rides is great too.
The A-wing and Vader's TIE fighter actually don't look as bad as I thought. Nonetheless, I'm still disappointed that the set is based on a TV series instead of the Original Trilogy.
Hopefully "Encounter on Jakku"'s beast of burden has a head too :P
Apart from that, new prints/moulds for non-human minifigs are always a nice thing
nice to see these.... want the tie set, x-wing and encounter set...but man, those PRICES are killer :(
Can anyone tell from the pictures if the Darth Vader minifigure in TIE Advanced vs. A-Wing is the same as the most recent Vader figure included in 75093: Death Star Final Duel with the "type 2" helmet?
@Brother Brain He is wearing the MK II helmet. Even though I have no Darth Vader minifigs, just from looking at it I prefer the old version.
What makes Jakku $10 more then the Scavenger set, as it is a smaller set, too?
Is it just me, but do all the TFA set seem like they are missing size...they all seem so small.
^The TFA tax. I know, conspiracy theory... but look at this:
-Rey's Speeder: little under 200 pieces, $20 USD
-FO Snowspeeder: 450 pieces, but there are like 30 1x1 round studs alone in ammo; $40
-FO TIE Fighter: 500 pieces, $70... nothing that appears to be raising the price, and last similarly-sized version was $55
-Poe's X-Wing: 700 pieces, $80; last version was $60 and similarly sized, and also designed better
-FO Transporter: 700 pieces, $90; this makes no sense whatsoever, the set isn't really that big
-Kylo's Shuttle: 1000 pieces, $120: very similar Imperial Shuttle released the same year is $100, so where does that extra $20 come from?!
-Millenium Falcon: 1300 pieces, $150: This is completely ridiculous. None of the parts are new or rare, and many of them are taken up by junk inside. Last version was $130, and basically the same ship.
-Battle on Takodana: 400 pieces, $60, nothing that justifies this here either.
-Resistance Troop Transport: 650 pieces, $70... this is pretty good, actually.
-Encounter on Jakku: 500 pieces, $70, and it looks like a godawful mess with way too many parts in that beast thing. I wouldn't pay more than $45 for it TBH.
So, most of the sets have an extra $10-20 added on for no apparent reason. I'm not just going by PPP, that's an outdated and inaccurate measure... there's nowhere enough value for the price in any of these sets, except the troop transports and Rey's Speeder.
@ryjay - Six new elements probably contributes to the seemingly high price, although I am sure that LEGO are aware that buyers are willing to pay a little extra to acquire some sought after characters and might bump the price up accordingly.
@PicnicBasketSam No justification is needed. All your math is irrelevant. They price them at what they think they can sell them for. If they are wrong and they don't sell well enough to meet internal targets then they will lower the price. Basic business.
The A-Wing is unbelievably hideous, whether it's how it looks on the show or not.
These look really cool, look forward to getting them. Amazon UK also have images of the Nexo Knights Summer sets too :D
The TIE looks nice enough, but that A-Wing model is way off! Much prefer 75003 or even 6207.
I'm sticking to the OT for budgetary reasons, but my 2 cents...
The Encounter on Jakku looks great, Clone Turbo Tank looks WAY too small, and the rest are meh.
I want the A-Wing/TIE set because it looks really cool, but that price is shocking. It looks like two smaller sets stuck together in a box with an increased price tag - and that's putting me off.
My other big 'want' from this list is the Star Scavenger, but £50 looks too much. At £35-40? Yeah, I might, but I don't understand why it has a straight $ > £ price conversion, whereas the similar-in-piece-count Jakku set doesn't.
Looks like more of the same, although a few did appeal to me
Yet ANOTHER Clone Turbo Tank?! Prices for these new releases are yet again disgustingly overpriced...
I love the blue T-70 X-Wing but thought that the Encounter on Jakku looked unfinished and inaccurate.
