Captain America: Steve Rogers SDCC exclusive revealed
Posted by CapnRex101,
The first of this year's San Diego Comic-Con exclusives has been revealed on Facebook in the last few minutes. This minifigure is based on Captain America as he appears in the Captain America: Steve Rogers comic series where the character wears an updated costume and wields a brand new shield.
These alterations are reflected by the design of the minifigure which is printed with exclusive details on the head, torso and legs as well as on the shield.
The number of minifigures which will be given away is currently unknown but we will update you with more information when it arrives. Also look out for news of the other exclusives which we expect to be revealed in the next few days as we near the start of the convention.

Hail Hydra!
Just kidding :)
Glad the SDCC figures are mostly variants of normal figures this time. It would be horrible if they did something like release Stan Lee as a SDCC exclusive!
That's an annoyingly nice figure!!! I want it!
i so want it along with the sam wilson captain america minifig,
i love this one lego.. well done.
Eh... I don't like it. I only don't like it because of that "hail hydra" lazy twist that was pulled.
What I thought it was world war 2 outfit
I love that suit I want it
and already up on ebay for presale at $290
It looks great. I love the detail. I am a huge fan of Super Hero figures and this doesn't disappoint. But being exclusive, that is disappointing. If I had the money, I would have all of the SDCC variants, but alas, I do not.
With that said, I'm thankful it isn't an Iron Man variant. That would be unsettling. Granted, the few Batman variants have been disappointing also since I collect his suits too.
Oh well. I think I will stick with my currently in sets figure collection and call it good.
I would love to be able to grasp why there is such a fuss about these SDCC "exclusives".
I was watching one of those "top ten" Youtube videos the other day about the most expensive Lego minifigs, hoping there would be some cool and intricate ones at the top. Sadly, most of those were some SDCC ones - none of which appealed to me the least. Thank god, otherwise I would have to start saving... ;-)
And this one too, easy pass.
I think it looks cool but imagine it will become pricey on the market so will have to pass.
Beautiful minifig but certainly too expensive when it's gonna reach Ebay stores.
As a Cap fan, it would be really nice to have... as a realist though, there's no way. Not with the aftermarket price on SDCC figs.
I need this in my life.
Just so people know, Lego is doing a giveaway of one of these on Twitter: https://twitter.com/LEGO_Group/status/752922768971145216
It still doesn't help with the whole exclusivity problem but does help some people who are in other countries at least have some chance to get one.
Not fond of the limited run nature of exclusives, and I used to be in the industry and know how much they help pay for the expenses of setting up at a very expensive show, so I get it from the company side of things. But as an AFOL? I HATE the fact that the aftermarket cost of figures like this puts them out of reach of my schwweaty collector hands. :P
Dose anyone know if they'll be any Lego exclusives at Star Wars Celebration Europe this weekend?? Cheers..
@adelego - The twitter page for Lego said they don't have any information on it right now - https://twitter.com/LEGO_Group/status/752924767368294400
I like this but I hate exclusives that I can't get for my collection. Why can't Lego give these out free at the con and offer everyone else chance to buy one on Lego shop.
Does no one notice the shoe misprint?
Does no one notice the shoe misprint?
is it only one this year?
I hate the concept of these exclusive run figures. I think the ideal solution would be to make an early release of figures already planned to be in a set in the following year, but give them an exclusive printing on the back saying the event name and year. People who want an exclusive still get it, while kids/ collectors who didn't go to the event/ people who did go to the event but didn't win aren't left out in the cold if all they want is a minifigure version of said character.
That having been said, unlike the Bizzaro or Phoenix figures, who were ideal versions of essential characters in othei universe, this one is thankfully just a variant of Captain America who is already fairly common and already has different variants.
@legoclone999. Thanks for the info.. Maybe it's just me but I don't hear much about exclusive mini figures at Uk events.. Always seems to be nycc and sdcc!! Lego need to spread the love or not do any at all.. Fairs fair and all that!! I'm going to swce in London on Saturday so if there are any going at Lego's stand hopefully they'll be some left!!...
Hail Hydra! lol
i been buying sdcc lego 2014 and 2015, new captain america variant is cool but i was hoping for new marvel or dc superheroes minifigure never been released yet
I want it so baaaaad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
