Christmas Build-Up: Day 14
Posted by TheBrickPal,
Day 14 has for us a micro bridge build, with a river flowing underneath and even a little boat navigating the waters (not to be confused with Day 1's sailboat) - or is it a boat? Could also be a submarine. I guess it could be whatever floats your... you know what I mean.
I love the old architectural styling, and the dark red/tan color scheme effectively conveys this; giving it an almost European flair. The little details on this model are most impressive when you consider the limited number of parts in this set. The 1x4 arches are useful and I appreciate the stonework on both sides of the bridge.
Overall - 4.5 - It would be unfair to penalize this model too much, given it is almost perfect. However, I slightly prefer Day 12's house still!

Pretty sure it's meant to be a duck!
My first thought was a duck, too.
^ I think it's a monkey.
I thought it was a Naboo starfighter coming into dock at Theed Palace.
I see the Yellow Submarine...
I thought it was a duck too.
I also initially thought the model was a castle with moat, until near the end of the build.
Umm...what happened to the picture?
^ No clue; it's Huw's.
It is a duck, or a racoon, or maybe a bear.
This is the advent calendar of Everything!
why is the image no longer available?
I can see the image fine (Android).

I would go as far as to say that it is a Ruddy shelduck.
I'm running with it being a Forced Perspective view, to make the bridge appear further away
Good review as always! This is one of my favorite builds, I just don't get why the duck looking thing is so big...
I thought it's a castle :D
This bridge, the house and the chimney have been my favorites so far. I would love an advent calendar that had all builds of various architectural structures like buildings, bridges, etc. At least leave out the creepy animal hybrids ;)
My daughter (7) looked at it and immediate called it a duck, so I'm pretty sure it's meant to be a duck. And yes, it's not in proportion to the bridge, but that's hard to accomplish at this micro scale.
Could it be a gondola near a bridge in Venice ?
