Last teaser for something BIG!
Posted by TheBrickPal,Something BIG from LEGO Star Wars is set to be revealed very soon. LEGO has posted one final teaser on their social media for it, which you can check out right here.
They explain that shoppers may need wheels, rather than one of LEGO's signature yellow bags, to carry out this mysterious model!

Woo! I can not wait for the reveal!
Next to the Death Star....MF :(
Does the family -really- need to eat? I mean, it'd only be a month... Say, didn't the sailors of old used to eat shoe leather when food was low?
^grow your own vegetables!
Not much longer now until the reveal! Can't wait!
this is getting really tiring.
Just reveal it lego, pretty please!
I've already seen the leaked image. I guess I'll buy it
@captaincassianandor I'm sure they will on Friday. :-)
I'm wondering how long it will be before someone incorporates the box and wheels into a MOC.
At least the paramedics will be able to wheel me along with the Big Mysterious Falcon.
It's good that I won't buy this, that's cash I can invest on other places (movies, car, my Lego City, etc).
I would love it if those wheel were actually compatible with Technic axles. (Highly unlikely, but one can hope)
I guess Christmas will get cancelled at my house. Sorry kids...daddy needed this set! The other question is do you open it or buy two and hope to flip it in a few years???
if it's that heavy, how much are you going to pay for shipping if you buy it online like I intend to?
Now real Lego spirit would be to reveal it day earlier :)
I'm really looking forward to it but I hope it's not a prank!!!
So does this also confirm the box will be more cubic than rectangular, or is that just a placeholder? Lego has historically preferred more rectangular boxes to maximize shelf facings. The deepest box of theirs that I've ever seen is the Sandcrawler box.
@ELH2806 Hopefully, the shipping will be free if we pay so much :P
Ok, so the biggest question now is...are those wheels made by LEGO and what size axel does it accept.
At least they learnt from their mistake with the white paper!
My daughter thinks it's the first UCS Friends set. Probably the most shocking thing I've heard in the past six months.
Unfortunately this new MF is a real Widowmaker :))
I've just spent an hour messing about in photoshop and I can reveal that it's the Death Star in the bag.
@Brainslugged No need to mess with Photoshop, they actually state it's the Death Star in the original tweet:
"The LEGO @StarWars Death Star fits in our yellow bag, but we have to apply wheels so shoppers can carry the next LEGOStarWars set! ??"
Me too. I wonder what's going to be in store for us (get it)?
i wonder how much of the retail cost has been apportioned to designing and producing that packaging. I would rather go pick it up and get a discount without its shell
^ I think we all know a sign would be redundant.
Will it be for sale as an early VIP access for Force Friday with triple points?
Hmmmm... What to do with my money? Buy a new LEGO set or sponsor several starving children in Africa for a whole year...
Priorities! So hard to decide!
^ Keep your money for the BIG set then donate a kidney for the children to fight over. Sorted.
Now I want a Lego cardboard box on wheels....damn Lego marketing. And you only get the wheels on the store brought sets, LEGO.com boxes don't have the wheels.
You should ask the right question first to get the right answer :)
Buy a new LEGO set or sponsor for a whole year so that you can sponsor ten times more in 30 years ;)
My biggest problem now is to find a way to be able to display this upcoming monster..
Same here, I don't collect SW sets, only own Death Star and Ewokk Village, I have no room for display, nor do I have additional storage for that big box, but still thinking about 1st day purchase. It seems I have serious Lego issues :)
@Brainslugged I could tell it was the Death Star just by looking it.
Can't wait for the reveal on Friday. Will it be on display in Lego stores then?
Looks like a box with 2 Deathstars inside...
Hopefully Lego includes the green box :)
I'm not planning on getting this to either keep in its box or build and display. I'm getting this to build and rebuild over and over again over the upcoming years with my 2 young boys. I can't spend $800 for something to build once and never again.
I suspect they're also going to have to wheel my wife out when she finds out how much this costs
@stet I'm with you on that. I can't stand to buy a set then leave it in its box, it's meant to be built and enjoyed then dismantled and built again rather than sitting on display gathering dust. I just can't wait to get my hands on this, it'll mean living on beans on toast and gruel but it's worth it!!!
I hope this box is going to be free, I also hope that you can buy one of the boses they look kinda funny and could be useful for storage
Patrik78: .. jako fakt první den koupit? to neznáte nikoho na Kladne, Slaný, Beroun atd.. co vám to prodají za 50 procent ceny + / - dvacet procent jejich prirážka za nákup v továrním obchode? :)
to Farmer_John: This one (yours) made me burst laughing.. you have a sweet girl :D.. given the size, dimensions .. it would have to be the entire Heartlake City! - with an estimated population of at least 200
it is 33 lbs.... so I guess a pair of wheels will be nice. If I do buy it in store, will the wheels be a part of the package and I can take them with me? If so, that is pretty cool.
To DuDuLook: From my point of view the logistics / transportation of this particular "item" (as depicted on the picture with wheels) would be truly tricky from the Mexico plant. for one: if the casters/rollers are really part of the deal - HOW would they transfer hundeds of these items from Mexico to US - without damaging them? In additional box? That would just increase the logistics (overall) set costs.. more logical would be that the "wheel cart" is some standalone piece that would be supplied by the US shops and the boxes would leave the factory in ordinary fashion - no extra cart whatsover.. but that is just my opinion since Im preoccupied with the logistics on daily basis..
Maybe the box with wheels is a new option for shoppers at the Lego store. I've watched people try to balance several large sets on their way to the checkout, or they have help. When I've gone by myself, I've had difficulty. No matter what, I'm excited for the reveal on Friday.
Are we really going on the assumption that there really will be wheels? I would think this is just marketing...
to MorkMan: I was pondering the very same question at first: of course, there are multiple views available. My view was, if the cart was just for a marketing "tendering" of its enormous size - why not to use any ordinary cart? Why this cheap, throw-away thing that looks like made of some refurbished and recycled cardboard
@MorkMan How else are customers going to carry them out of the store? Sets like the Death Star and Disney Castle already require those extra handles they tape on for you.
Am enjoying the anticipation....something to look forward to amidst the dreadful weather !
I've already seen the leaked image of the set itself, but I can't wait to see what minifigures it comes with!
Apparently the wheels are stick on, for turning any large box into a cart. So they maybe available in stores?

Just a thought...could this new massive set actually be the entire line of the new The Last Jedi sets all in one box? Lego has done this before with the Nexo Knights line a few years back. I have not calculated all the sets parts yet but its gotta be close to that 7500 piece mark. I hope not as I really really want it to be the new Falcon but I find it a bit strange that Lego has not put the new movie sets on their site under new sets coming soon.
@George Rossiter That is exactly the product... and they're London based. I wonder if LEGO has mass-purchased these for distribution at their stores when the MF goes on sale. This is an excellent find.
guys.. to put it totally bluntly, this set will be around for MONTHS.. at the moment Im more intrigued by the Force Friday offers and which sets get 50 per cent off.. :D
@crayxmp Try years. The original Falcon had to be discounted 25% in the end of its life cycle, no doubt this one will go on sale at some point.
to natro220: OK, I wasnt trying to be precisely estimating the EOL of this set.. just to put some perspective to it such as it is not to die for the very 1st day 'cos it would stick around for a while.. and who knows.. on one hand your estimate "for years" sounds very logical.. on the other.. could be also hit and miss and last less than a year. Who knows what games TLG is playing.. even this teaser (and The Cave before) was something new.. most likely to test new marketing concepts.
... Or you could just order express postage and get a courier to do the freewheeling for you!
I'm surprised no one has mentioned the 'risk' of wheeling this back home from some Lego Stores. Can you imagine trying to wheel the box out of the LS London Store (my "nearest"), through a busy Leicester Square and then down into the underground (or even into a black cab?). I can already picture the faces of rush hour tube goers as they see a Lego 'pallet' wheeled aboard! And that's before you try to put it safely on the train home...
Nope, online delivery is the way to go for me. Probably just as much chance of battering the box but no heavy lifting or having to wheel £600 or so around in front of everyone.
Did you guys see Jang's latest video? TLG is threatening a lawsuit for Jang's reviews he posted of TLJ sets. I think that's worthy of a news article.
^ Yes, that is quite disheartening. A simple phone call, find out what retailer violated the embargo and fire off the nasty letter to them. Sure, go ahead and ask him to pull the videos, but they should understand if he says no.
I know that's super naive, but JANG did nothing wrong.
Literally, nothing.
Is there room on top of this new box for Assembly Square, Ninjago City, Destinys Bounty, The Old Fishing Store, and the organs I'm selling for those sets?
@Copterman
It is but such news would create negative sentiment towards lego.
Why asking him to remove, not enough praises?
Wow! That's gonna be quite large Police Station I guess.
Ooh exiting. I wonder what it could possibly be? ;) They've sunk a lot of money into advertising something that's probably not going to sell particularly well. Interesting.
^ I assume this may be like when companies like ford, nissan and audi make supercars. People who aren't into lego will probably still be interested in this simply because it's huge, and they might be encouraged to check out other sets and maybe buy some.
@Copterman you're right. I've seen it this early morning here in France.
What a pity for the Jang who with all his reviews promotes lego and SW products even better sometimes than they can do. And as he quotes, he guesses it's not all about Lego, but a "company which has IP commercial partnership". From my point of view, things are not going better since this overwhelming company has bought SW license rights... But for a bit teasing, Jang has made a review of retail available products. They know fans will jump onto their products as soon as they are available. I begin to feel a bit disgusted and somehow disappointed with rising prices, so high price sets and overall what SW is becoming... But it 's just my opinion.
Should come with a big conical cap with a D on it for anyone willing to shell out that amount of money on a Lego kit, and a requirement for the buyer to wear it until the kit retires. :/
Quote: 'Hmmmm... What to do with my money? Buy a new LEGO set or sponsor several starving children in Africa for a whole year...'
Don't want to be a party pooper but it's sad that this consideration is not hypothetical...
If the minifigures include Lando and Nien Nunb then I'm all over it.
I only want the cart.
Hey? Where did the Chewbacca review go? Did Brickset get muzzled too??
I just hope it isn't sold out by the time I get up.
I am really surprised that we haven't seen a leaked image or 2 by now. Since these will supposedly be on sale in stores in 2 days, that means they are en route or already in the stores. Well done on keeping it secret.
Now lets see if their website can actually handle the volume of shoppers on Friday - doubtful :-(
@JDC... But we have seen leaks!
well after scrolling through my facebook feed, minifig price guide posted a screengrab from the europe october newsletter which confirms (set in stone) the product and the box itself.
I'll let you go find it.
@JDC Lego have already stated the set will be unveiled on 1st September but won't be available to buy until 1st October unless if they do some kind of VIP early access.
@Atbricks - We chose to withdraw the review for the time being as a precaution after hearing from JANGBRiCKS. However, we have received no communication from LEGO or Disney.
Hi very excited about the set and when available does anyone know if there first Ones available will have certificates like original 10179??????
Thanks
I'd love to get this set, but judging on its size, and average price per brick that Lego charges ... I won't be able to afford it.
Can't wait to see what it is!
Thanks @Cap'n. "I feel a great disturbance in the force" ;-) The storm in teacup will all be over on Fri...
Thanks for the corrections. That will give me one more month to save for it. I'll also re-look for leaks :-)
Ok. Found it. Thanks for the tip. Less greebling on the surface and the plate/bricks with bows were used very well in one part of the model. I'll take one :-)
@BeaR the Builder
It is very sad, I agree. But I wrote my original comment in jest, as a comment on the significant cost of this set. Personally, even if I had the disposable income, there's no way I could justify purchasing this thing.
Based on leaked catalog mf will come with only 4 minifigs. Hard to believe but if true it will be huge disappointment.
@COMM: I guessed your comment wasn't that serious. It just suddenly occurred to me that, sadly, there actually is truth in what you wrote... It doesn't hurt (well, actually it does!) to be aware of that!
But just to be clear, my reply wasn't aimed at you specifically.
according to the article on promobricks.de, its the Millenium Falcon and the wheels / rollers are attached due to the fact, that the box should weigh 15 kgs. (30-35 pounds)
google translates: "According to a store employee, the box with the UCS Millennium Falcon is to weigh 15 kilograms. A yellow plastic bag from the store could get their problems with the weight of the paper bag aside. According to Teaser, the box of the mega-set is also larger than the largest plastic bag from the store space offers."
Hi
Sorry it prob is just me but is it odd or normal for the release date to be a Sunday? Or is it clever marketing as more people off work?
I thought the Chewbacca review was perfect as a sneak preview - as it had basically zero relation to the plot, new characters, vehicles or locations of The Last Jedi. He's already been in at least 5 films already!
I guess the logic behind it is to stem the tide of early purchases from 'keen' retailers - which dumbs down the 'big' impact of a single day release somewhat. Not that I'll be in store. I'll just be refreshing the store at home, waiting for it to crash!
I'm okay with the piece count and weight, but when the box size is now becoming this big, that needs a trolley to move about (even the largest plastic bag is not fitting), I starts to question why there needs to be 50% air inside the box.
Biggest server crash in lego LEGO.com history, right there.
@Speed champions fan
Unlikely , this is way too much for a kid's toy for most parents to rush to store. And number of grown-ups playing with lego toys is not that significant.
Final picture leak arrived- 7 minifigs plus bb8 is nice and including both young and old han solo is great. Two dishes included so mf is covering both old and new set of films (as rumored for long time) and limited interior included. Now I only need to resist purchasing urge for half year until some discount kick in.
