They have to justify somehow the price inflation related to Porsche by min 30% so I'd say - yes.

Now really, at its core, the Technic Porsche set is bare-bones, with next to no real standout functionality and provisions for motorisation. I think that the only that Chiron is gonna be worth anything is if it's motorised on both axles and can be driven with RC controls.

Another set that will be sold out on day one because of re-sellers. If the Porsche with 3600 parts was 300€, this will probably hit the 400€ mark if taking the same 11c/pcs logic. The rims look cool, sadly not blue, I hope they are durable and not just suitable for display. Hope TLG will make the blue+black Chiron version and non-square blue breaking calipers.
I won't make the same mistake as with the Porsche to buy it as soon as it is released because now it's over 30% cheaper. Better wait a year this time.

Not a fan of the Chiron, so this'll be a pass. Curious as to how they price it. The Porsche hit 200 euro very quickly from a large number of sellers. Asking for more than 300 euro for this set will be a big ask.

I hope that it ends up better than the Porsche.

Nice. I like it that it is the same scale as the Porsche. Will be interesting to see how they implement the AWD and if there will be RC functionality.

Likely a must-have, but I'll reserve my judgement (and money) till it's released.

@Hectorus Vectorus Maximum: gauging from scale + number of parts it's unlikely the Chiron will be motorised cause no space left inside for motors, steering servo and a bulky battery box (shrinking that bat box would be the innovation of the century by Lego as far as I'm concerned!).

But as Technic builders we can do that ourselves, right?!

Sounds promising, I'm really curious to know what the final product looks like.

I love technics for smart building techniques, not for placing some meaningless badge for premium price. Give us 8043 reissue with upgraded motors if creativity for flagships is gone.

I only got thw Porsche because I found it for 169 euro in a local toy store. I will probably not pick this up (unless I am as lucky again).

That Porsche was very promising but in the end never really delivered. It was overpriced, the gearbox apparantly worked the wrong way around and the design didn't really look like a Porsche. Considering how I don't really care for Bugatti's anyway I'm giving it a pass. Then again, I don't think anyone at LEGO cares considering they sell that stuff anyway. Oh well.

Porsche is 1:8 also. Will be a nice pairing. IMO it would be nice if it was more limited and numbered like 41999, 4X4 Crawler. It also should have Power Functions.

Hmmm... I heard that Lego were making a Bugatti Chiron set and quickly clicked through to the article thinking it was a Creator Expert like the Ferrari F40. I'm sure it'll look great in Technic but I was hoping for some more iconic, large scale System versions of super cars. I guess Speed Champions put pay to that. The price seems astronomical - but in keeping with the Bugatti brand ;)

In terms of complexity this one will be way beyond the GT3 RS if they stay as close as possible to real life. 16 cylinders rather than 6 and in a W formation. AWD as well. At least the body shape of the Chiron should allow the designers a bit more space to fit things in a Lego sense. Quite bulbous compared with the Porsche. The car is quite a bit larger in real life too so if it's the same scale it'll be huge. Going to be busting $650 AUD at this rate though...

BTW does anyone know anything about Creator Expert car for 2018? No leaks? No gossips? No predictions yet?

Just put the Porsche back in its box this weekend and I'm not sure I'll ever build that again. Bugatti Chiron does little for me so I doubt I'll be buying this.
And I'm a life-long Technic fan...

There are a lot of curves on that car. It'll be interesting to see how close (or otherwise) the designer can get. And with current conversion rates putting this at over £300, it had better be darned good.

That is going to $500 to $600 Canadian. Will be interesting to see the w16 engine. Wonder how they are going to do the automatic transmission. Also all wheel drive. Hope it have more studded bricks in the car. Probably get it.

Oh, I could place it below my Porsche, if I had the funds to buy one. :(

Two things interest me with this choice:

1) This will be the first 4WD Technic supercar since 8880 (depending how whether you consider 8466 a supercar)
2) It will be very interesting to see how Lego have modelled the W16 engine - hoping for a truly authentic single crankshaft arrangement - and the quad turbos. The engine can be seen in the teaser video.

Seems like it will be black. At least the LEGO commercial does not show the blue and black version of the real car.

I hope they make the flat bottom steering wheel. They failed to do so for the Mack truck.
