Star Wars Advent Calendar: Day 15
Posted by CapnRex101,Two blaster rifles were provided behind door number fourteen so it seems likely that a couple of unarmed minifigures will emerge during the next few days in this LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar.
Find out after the break...
Death Troopers were introduced in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and look fantastic, wearing imposing black armour and speaking through a distorting communications scrambler. This particular minifigure has only appeared once before in 75165 Imperial Trooper Battle Pack, although a similar version is available in 75156 Krennic's Imperial Shuttle. Both troopers share the same magnificent helmet that features lime green active pulse emitters and metallic silver filters.
A standard Clone Trooper head is found underneath while the torso and legs are decorated with intricate armour, corresponding exactly with the design of these soldiers in the film. A fabric pauldron would have been excellent but I think the current minifigure looks superb as well.
Overall - 4.5 - This is a perfect minifigure for army building and is only available in one other set so may be brand new to some LEGO Star Wars fans.

Why no pauldron? It makes my Death Troopers from the shuttle look a lot cooler. It is possible to use a fabric piece in a calendar, isn't it?
I honestly thought nothing would surpass the IG-88 minifigure but this minifigure does this and more.
My philosophy is that Advent Calendars should largely be generic army builders. This helps.
^1947andallthat; the two Death Troopers released in the Battle Pack did not have pauldrons. Only the two in Krennic's Shuttle have them. This is film accurate, though, since not all Death Troopers on screen wore pauldrons.
@1947andallthat I think only the Death Trooper Specialists wore pauldrons, which were connected to ammo pouches. Normal Death Troopers don't wear them.
Nothing says Christmas like a Death Trooper
