City Advent Calendar: Day 16

Posted by ,

The 2018 LEGO City Advent Calendar has already produced many of the items one might expect to find, including minifigure-scale toys, a Christmas tree and a selection of presents.

On that basis, it will be interesting to discover what emerges on day sixteen...

This cake stall looks marvellous, featuring an attractive and festive colour scheme of green, red and gold. A striped awning protects a couple of small cakes on the cart and spare pieces are included to assemble another in either flavour.

Unfortunately, the 2x2 round tiles which represent wheels are not actually able to turn. That is slightly disappointing but I wonder whether they are supposed to be pretend, replicating the traditional design of some vending stalls that appear at shopping centres and zoos.

Overall - 4.5 - Today's model is visually striking and features some lovely festive colours, although I do think the wheels should have been able to turn.

By in Australia,

I was about to say, what a great little idea, festive and interesting and perfectly lovely for a Christmas Lego setting ... but the wheel. Surely, they'd be able to include pieces for an actual wheel, even with the limitations of an advent calendar model?

By in Finland,

When I saw the colors, Karma Chameleon instantly hit my mind:

"Loving would be easy if your colors were like my dreams / Red, gold and green, red, gold and green..."

By in Belgium,

To be fair most wheels on stalls and carts in Lego City are just about as large as the minifigures themselves...

By in Norway,

The tan 2x2 wheel just looks out of place and ruin the whole thing. Black or brown would be much better

By in United States,

That’s a very Friends-like build except for the unfortunate wheel, but overall, I like it.

By in Sweden,

I believe we will get something tomorrow that can drag it, as minifigures usually appear on Day 18 and never 17 I think (this isn't spoilers as it's just my predictions)

By in Sweden,

Why they didn't at least use the 2x2 round tile with a hole (15535) is beyond me. They've even produced it in tan before. No excuse!

By in United States,

I'm sitting here, looking at this, and trying to imagine how awkward it would look when you use the gold bar on the end to hang it on your tree...and then realized it was City and not Friends.
