SDCC exclusive Advanced Suit Spider-Man revealed!
Posted by TheBrickPal,
LEGO has revealed the first of this year’s exclusive San Diego Comic-Con minifigures: Spider-Man in his Advanced Suit, as seen in the video game Marvel’s Spider-Man for PlayStation 4!
If history repeats itself, attendees will be able to win one by entering a raffle on the show floor.
What do you think? Do you plan on getting it, at the convention or elsewhere? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!

I guess it's fine. I doubt it would have ever been in a set.
I like the idea, it's a great suit, but the minifig looks a bit too blue in my opinion. Would be better if the arms could be partially red
Meh. Not really a fan of the white spider emblem. Seeing has how I'm not going to comic-con and I'm not willing to pay the big bucks needed to pick this figure up the answer is no.
If its the ps4 Spiderman suit then ...its okay-but i could make one of my own looking better for very low cost!!
Looks nice. I like that it is an exclusive suit for a common character though; so those of us who don't chase after convention exclusives still have plenty of other Spider-Man variants to choose from.
I was hoping they would make this suit. They did, and it's an SDCC exclusive...
I don't need it.
I don't need it.
I definitely don't need it.
I'm sorry y'all, but I need this.
This looks sick, it would be better for fans if later they made one set with this from the game but it is not my cup of tea.
Why do they have to make all these SDCC? I’m just gonna have to buy him and green suit Captain Marvel for an absurd price after the fact.
Amazing! It lives up to this adjective. :-)
@BrickHelix: No guarantees, but it's possible that the alternate Captain Marvel suit color might show up in a polybag or something later in the year like the Rocket Raccoon minifigure from https://brickset.com/sets/COMCON034-1/Rocket-Raccoon-s-Warbird
Granted, at that time LEGO had NEVER put exclusive prints or recolors in the SDCC exclusive sets, only in the exclusive minifigures, so it wasn't too big a gamble to wait and hope that Rocket minifig showed up elsewhere.
Since then, the green car roof from https://brickset.com/sets/SDCC2015-3/Action-Comics-1-Superman and some printed parts from BrickHeadz sets HAVE remained exclusive to those sets, so no telling how likely we'll be to see that Captain Marvel torso print elsewhere…
In general, though, I feel like @Gremer is right that this Spider-Man suit in particular would probably have been unlikely to show up in a regular set rather than a promotional polybag or exclusive item, since despite as many Spider-Man sets as LEGO tends to put out, there are a lot of suits from movies, comics, and cartoons for LEGO to pull inspiration from before they'd move onto one like this that has so far only appeared in a single video game.
Id sell my soul for that fig!
umm I mean who cares... yeah yeah...
(Really tho it's a great figure)
Ah, another $500 minifigure that I will never be able to own...
Well, it looks like I'll just have get the knock-off version then for pennies instead!
I like this minifig,
I had a spiderman figure when I was younger in a black n silver suit with a sheild, and the six arm spiderman I hope they make those in lego form one day..
I'm glad that it's just a redesign of an already existing character rather than a new one altogether, although I would prefer if lego just stopped doing con exclusives altogether.
Coooooooooool spider fig, like it, want it ahahah
@TheLegoFan
How? Purist custom? Custom printing?Knockoff? 3rd party pad print on real pieces?
These are the good exclusives. Only some were able to play Spider-Man PS4 so this variant of the character makes perfect sense to be an exclusive.
Damn. I've been okay with a lot of the SDCC figures in the past. Not this year. Captain Marvel movie was absolutely huge. Spider-Man PS4 was absolutely huge.
Two devastating blows for my collection personally.
This is honestly a really good SDCC Exclusive. Its a nice figure, but there are plenty of other Spideys, plus custom ones that look better than this. The Captain Marvel one is too exclusive though.
For true fans of Spidey / MCU / DC comics collectioners : is this minifig, with I think specific printings and design (which I personally think are good and intricate, with precise connections of lines and colors between torso and legs) worth the effort and way it will be distributed and available? Is it a marvelous one or an average design?
Awesome! Too bad the SDCC minifigs regularly go for $250 and up; that’s just a little out of my comfort zone for one minifig. Now, if I hit the lottery, Spidey is MINE.
@Phathead, you keep making the ignorant mistake of thinking you somehow are better at marketing than Lego. Lego has years upon years of data and proven results to back up their decisions. You just have your ego.
Not sure how you can say they're out of touch with their customers when people are clearly still buying their products, and sales aren't hurting.
Oh that's so cool! Wish I could get it but oh well.
Anyone who fancies themselves as a LEGO minifig collector/completionist and is complaining about exclusives is missing the whole point of collecting. If it were easy and cheap there wouldn't be any satisfaction once you acquired everything knowing any johnny-come-lately could amass the exact same collection as yours with little effort.
Nice Exclusive. For those that complain about the cost to buy these on the secondary market, its still a good value compared to taking vacation time, flying to SDCC (From New England at least), staying in a hotel, meals, standing in line, blah blah blah.
I love these exclusives, but I'll never buy them. But that's kinda not the point. Its cool!
I've always felt con exclusives should be related to the convention itself. Like the IHeartNewYork Yoda. It then means something more for those who attend the event since its a commemorative item. and as a normal FOL you don't feel left out. But special high-demand figures given out this way feel like artificial scarcity that just brings disappointment.
D’ya reckon the white printing will be that white? Or will they have the same issues as general sets?
The saddest part is that a lot of people who will pick this up at SDCC are not even collectors and will just cynically flog the minifig for an exorbitant price on eBay. LEGO must know this...
At least, for example, a lot of Funko Pop SDCC exclusives actually become available in regular stores after the event.
@BearsyWearsy i would paint real lego minifigure body, hands etc!! Like MichealMGF did on youtube!!
I think it's a good choice for a con exclusive.
The character is available elsewhere so it's just a printing exclusive. Much better than the Captain Marvel set with an exclusive character.
Is the availability of this really that different than the one per box CMFs, manufactured scarcity makes headlines among the community initially but afterwards the only ones who gain are resellers. Lego sales dept know this and they obviously are ok with it, if you are not then vote with your wallet.
it looks awesome but not awesome enough to spend 100 quid on the eBay aftermarket
@phathead, be careful, you’re using a lot of big words you don’t know the meaning of.
@Phathead’s suggestion isn’t necessarily bad. I used to work for a company that sold convention exclusives. Once we started to hear from consumers, in rational discourse, that they wanted better access to those exclusives we created a means to get them via an exclusive Club not unlike a VIP membership.
The main reason for the existence of the convention exclusive? It dramatically increases the overall money that a company takes in at a show, which helps offset the unreal costs of attending and setting up a booth at the show. There are hundreds of booths, so competition to get attendees to visit your booth is insane, especially at Comic-Con.
Their existence is a part of the landscape now. Understanding the reasons why is important, reaching out to the company in a meaningful, reasonable way is how you begin to initiate some kind of change to a process.
lol. I gave up being a completion collector a few years ago as I began to see more minifigs with better full body prints, and I have become more selective in purchasing them. As a result, comic-con exclusives are no longer one of my desirables. I have also been mix-and-matching the superhero parts to make them look better. And it's more fun that way too. Not a fan of this print as it's not completely different from the usuals. I think the dark spiderman in one of the latest sets is so much better.
Guys, again Forbes did an article on this a few years back.
This is ALL marketing. Lego is not doing exclusives to make money at SDCC on them.
It's all advertising, promotion and hype, buzz for the Lego brand.
It's designed to keep Lego on your mind at these shows and on all the social medias of what 'exclusives' they're having at these comic cons. Constant buzz leading up to the show. Keeping people talking about them, tweeting, youtube, facebook, instagram, etc. etc. Even talking 'negative' about it helps their brand too to some extent.
@monkeyby87 is right. It's all marketing, promotion, etc.
Funny, I must admit to me all these Spiderman suits look alike. Can't tell the big difference for love nor money.
Therefor, as I already have all kinds of LEGO Spidey minifigs, can't be bothered with this one.
