LEGO has announced the second exclusive minifigure for San Diego Comic-Con this year, Zebra Batman, on Twitter.
This unusual figure takes inspiration from Detective Comics issue 275 and will be available at the event with the random draw on Saturday, the 20th of July.
You can view its packaging after the break...
Will you be attending San Diego Comic-Con this year and are you hoping to acquire any of the exclusive items? Let us know in the comments.

i like the packaging style
Looks cool but nothing I’m sad on missing.
They're, uh... they're really reaching these days, huh?
I love how the write 'building toy' on the packet, so no one can say breached their IP licence by producing a collectible fig etc
whomst
I would now explain in graphic detail where LEGO can shove these SDCC exclusives, but children might be reading...
He should prove to be a very polarizing minifigure. Mwahahaha!!!!!!
Lego : We're not going to have anymore regional locked lego sets or figures, we want them to be available to everyone.
Also Lego: Heres our 15th exclusive you can only get in this one coutry if you can attend this single event!
Mocking aside, its annoying theres so many things that real fans will never be able to get their hands on for various reasons.
Good job I've decided not to include sdcc exclusives in my batsuit collection. Nice fig though
Looks cute but nothing I will be missing out on.
Nice figure, but the arms are all white, that is a pity
@djcbs: lovely choice of words!
@GrizBe: I get your point, but maybe it is time to rethink ones own definition of a collection and being a real fan! For instance I am a fan of the brick(s) and the possibilities and not only a fan of their products. If one defines himself as a hardcore collector - well, here we have another trophy to hunt! Sad but true, this stays THEIR game... ;-)
Now we know what they did with the leftover designs from the Lego Batman Movie/ Lego Movie collectible minifigures blind bags.
Meh. Not a fan of this era of Batman. So I’m not loosing any sleep over missing out on this. Might be ok in the right set. But as a single figure, not so much.
I won’t miss this one. Captain Marvel or Batman builds were amazing but this one is... polarizing as someone said earlier.
I just don't see why they do this, they don't make money off of the secondary market scalpers.
@SpartanGhost I'm going to regret this but Batman inadvertently got this costume when he got the powers of the stupidly named Zebra Man - the lines are supposedly lines of forces that repel anything that comes near him and should also be on his skin. It was the 60s...
I kind of like the idea of zebra infiltration more, though.
Not seeing a lot of live for this figure but I really like it! I won’t be able to justify the price myself but it can go on the “if I ever win the lottery” list! ;-)
@wesman21, I suspect it's for the same reason most companies do it; exposure. Every little bit helps, and if Lego can help attract interest in their products and their company in general, then to them this is a win. It's also not very expensive to produce in the quantities that they do, so it's an easy thing to do. Lego doesn't really need help in getting their name out there, but it still helps. It sucks for us fans of course, lol.
Just seen this on Instagram.. he is quite a quirky sort after looking batman I like the bat logo and the striped Cape..
In answer to your questions, no and no.
Why does he have a WiFi logo on his helmet?
UGH NO! As a die hard Bat-Fan I’m super bummed that this classic and wacky Batsuit is a con exclusive. However, I understand why it is an exclusive and it makes a perfect sense. For such a crazy unknown and strange version of Batman that will never appear in an official set, making it a Convention Exclusive for the die-hard comic fans is a no brainer.
There's a batsuit that's unlikely to be in my collection then.
Also, is it just me or do the markings on the forehead part of the cowl look a little odd?
The jury is out on whether I think this is desirable or not.
The only way they could prevent the eyes from having a slight pink/flesh hue was by making the actual head white! :p
Missed opportunity to call it Zebratman.
lego needs to stop with comic con exclusives.
Funny, I wanted Zur-En-Arrh but it was insanely expensive for a toy that will deteriorate after a while (for instance, on couple batman's I have there is now hairline crack on torso just below arm, never played with them and were in shelve from day one). So I ordered copy from Chinese and were shocked how good quality is. And now I stopped buying minifigs on bricklink and instead I purchase from aliexpress.
Lego can be greedy as much as they want, I won't support that.
@wesman21
It's advertising.
@kraken - so, instead of supporting greed, you are supporting two different types of intellectual infringement and slave work in Chinese factories? Nice.
Just use the zebra man from LBM with a white cowl. At least there are printed arms on Zebra Man
I only want 3 or 4 zebra legs.
Hate this one even in Lego Batman 3 video game
The first few annoyed me, now I’m just resigned to the fact LEGO won’t listen and will continue to piss off fans who have spent large amounts of money on their product with this exclusive rubbish.
Ehh, so close and still no zebra for my City zoo :-(
The arms could have really benefited from some printing, I feel.
Like many special events around the world, SDCC takes place in a specific city during a few days. Region exclusives are available throughout that region for months, if not years, which is what TLG announced they are moving away from. Items offered at SDCC are not region exclusive, they are event exclusive - there's a distinct difference.
Anyone LEGO collector attending SDCC is not guaranteed to take home any of these exclusives as they all involve a random draw/lottery to have a chance to acquire one.
I'm sure you all have something unique or rare in your collection that makes your collection desirable compared to what other collectors have, otherwise what's the point of collecting.
Geez, how many Batman variants have there been?
I do like the idea that even wild dazzles of zebra (yes, that is the collective noun for a bunch of zebra. I'm so glad that I just looked that up) have issues with crime, so Batman needs a zebra-suit to infiltrate and bring those criminals to justice!
@Phathead, I don't think they've gotten anymore ridiculous. I think they have the same amount as previous years. Having said that, they HAVE had quite a few each year, for several years in a row now. That can be frustrating.
As for the exclusives thing, technically it was region exclusives that they changed policy on, not event exclusive things. It doesn't make us fans feel any better about it, but they aren't really being hypocritical.
@kraken, I promise that buying those counterfit and fake figures is not sending whatever message you think you're sending. The only message it sends is that you support illegal activities.
Could be useful for making The Siberian from Worm, but I'm almost never interested in these.
Wait a minute, are there two sets for this comic-con? The Gotham diorama and this Minifigure? Or am I missing something?
I think this is really cool!
"Batman has become a menace!" Indeed.
It gives me a headache just looking at it. Lol! ^^
After some consideration, I think if a LEGO variant of this turned up as a non exclusive I would get it. As an exclusive it's simply out of my reach.
I do like the exclusive diorama though, it's all kinds of cool.
@wesman21,
I'm not an apologist for LEGO, so don't shoot the messenger. But you asked why LEGO produces these con exclusives and here's the answer:
For LEGO to have a stand at SDCC costs pretty big money. My guess is that the total cost is in the $100,000s. To justify that cost they need to measure its impact and they do that by tracking the number of con attendees who visit their stand. To get that number up, they need something that is sure to draw people in, hence the chance to win con exclusives.
Sure, LEGO needs to balance that against the antagonism they create in the AFOL community. But that is much harder to measure. More specifically, it's not easy to gauge lost sales because of it. LEGO probably reckon that AFOLs will spend the same amount on LEGO regardless of their sentiment regarding con exclusives. So they either can't measure the antagonism effect on sales accurately or they can and have found it to be not large enough to warrant taking action.
Yup, I'll keep to the knock off version I have!
If ever there was a call for arm printing...
Feels a half-hearted effort. Big skip from me.
Batman is so overdone, we could use another Raven that isn't childishly overstyled or maybe a comic version of Mera. Anything other then another obscure Batman.
The bootleg looks better than the official fig. Yeesh, Lego.
welp hmm
whats the build quantity on these?
how many were handed out ?
