Harry Potter Advent Calendar - Day 7

Some interesting items have emerged from the Harry Potter Advent Calendar, although I would definitely appreciate another miniature creation like the Hogwarts Express today.
Hopefully something like that will appear next...
Rather than a miniature model, we instead have another furnishing for Hogwarts. This dining table consists primarily of reddish brown and dark brown components which are combined to good effect, especially since these colours are layered. The pearl gold feet look great too and two golden goblets are provided, matching most renditions of the Great Hall.
Placing minifigures on the benches is quite difficult because these surfaces are formed by smooth tiles. Studded 1x6 plates would have been more suitable here, although I think the tiles look superb when no minifigures are seated. Perhaps some food accessories will become available to supply the dining table soon.
Overall - 3.5 - This model definitely feels consistent with the environment and atmosphere of Hogwarts but its design is somewhat impractical for minifigures.

Absolutely fine for a table, good use of pieces, and its inclusion makes sense. HP putting Friends to shame today.
Yep, this is good. And I agree that it would gave been preferable to have plates rather than tiles for the benches, at least on one side.
Sit the minifig grabbing the goblet and slippery bench problem is solved.

Exactly. Attachment points people, attachment points.
Makes me question whether the people posting to complain have ever actually taken the time to play or experiment with different ways to anchor pieces together.
Maybe it a table for serving the drinks and not meant to be sat around
Battle of the Licensed Advent Calendars continues. After HP gained some ground with yesterday’s entry, a “slippery table” emerged today. It’s a well designed table that serves a function and provides a foundation for a potential Great Hall scene, an iconic venue for a Hogwarts Christmas.
On the flip side, SW graced us with a Chewbacca minifig with turkey-porg leg. While the figure has been around before it’s still an impressive one and adding to a Wookie army might be a great use for the fig.
If what goes around, comes around, then where HP took a shy point on Day 6, SW takes a shy point back today. The race remains close and the score is now:
HP- 4
SW- 3
