And don't forget the martini glass with Ginny.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I need Dumbledore and Fawkes!!

I wasn't interested in the first HP CMF series, but these look fantastic. Lily and James Potter?? Neville with that monster book? Just awesome.

Gravatar
By in Brazil,

That Fawkes and Gryffindor Sword look damn pretty.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Finally have more to see than just the leaked image. Granted, I don't think the extras are that fantastic compared to the original leaked image.

Either way, I must have a complete set and likely some extras of Griphook.

Now I just need to find a source to buy once they come out!

"Kingsley Shacklebolt with flying whisk"
Is this some strange Google translate?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I hope this means Lockhart is coming with Diagon Alley, he’s the one minifig I’m eager to get!

Which Minifigure Store?
I looked on: www.theminifigurestore.uk and they didn't seem to have them
(or at least I couldn't find them!)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

WHSMITHS will have a box of these for £130 mid-september online so I would wait it out to all those interested in a full box.

Gravatar
By in United States,

New lion costume soon!

Gravatar
By in United States,

The first series was great and these look even better!

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I have never collected a CMF series to completion, HP or otherwise- but this might have to be the exception. I think almost every entry is really strong.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The mandrake in the last series was a unique printed piece, 37681. Now it is just a printed round 1x1 brick. Disappointing change for me.

"MOANING MYRYTL FINALLY, Wow lego seem to care more about the HP franchise than star wars since they're actually getting every important character in from all the films. uhhh how are we actually going to get these when we aren't even allowed in the shops to feel the packets?"

Since you’re in the UK, you are allowed in shops if you have a mask on, but it would be unwise to feel every single packet and potentially contaminating them all. Your best options are getting random packets online (some large retailers and supermarkets did that before on their websites) and hope for the best or buy a full box and sell the ones that you don’t want or have duplicates of.

Gravatar
By in Portugal,

That new Sword mold is impressive!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I need a moaning myrtle, and possibly a griphook!

Gravatar
By in Puerto Rico,

These look great, not my alley but great. Edit: That Fawkes can serve as an exotic bird from SW so I might see if I can get that element.

Gravatar
By in United States,

They are so cool! I can't wait to get them.

Gravatar
By in Poland,

ok, Harry Potter :( so nothing interesting for me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

What is the retail price on these in the US? I heard a rumor that the price was going up to $4.99 instead of the usual $3.99

Gravatar
By in Canada,

They look fantastic! Lego is doing such a good job with the Harry Potter sets and minifigs. I am hoping to get a full set, but with the situation being what it is, that will be challenging. There are two shores in my province that sell minifigs and it took me many, many visits to finally get Luna last time round and there will be no feeling bags this time round. Hopefully some Canadian Bricklinkers will be selling full sets at a fairly reasonable rate!

Thanks for the sneak peak!

Gravatar
By in United States,

These look great! I saw someone post about Diagon Alley set...do we think it will actually be a set? Any idea about a release date?

Gravatar
By in United States,

What happened to the mandrake piece?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Gandalf looks great!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

This is an incredible set as the minifigs are better the more you have. Fred AND George. Lilly AND Harry.

I liked the last set and bought an entire box to split with my wife. But this set is even better. There will probably be 3-4 of each minifig. So that's one set for me, one set for her, and one set for a friend with a few left over.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Dumbledore and fawks and the sword of Griffindor are awesome

Gravatar
By in Croatia,

I don’t know about the rest of the world, but this new Harry Potter CMF series is already available at retailers in my country... I just went to a store yesterday and saw them on shelves.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Still yet to complete series DC and 20, now got another series to worry about collecting before they retire. Plus on top of that the Mario blind bags.

Good bye money.

Gravatar
By in United States,

nice selection, gonna have to toss a couple of these on my eventual orders during that time

Gravatar
By in United States,

how about a catfaced hermione with polyjuice potion. I like the luna lovegood and gonna try to get it.

I clicked on the little picture of Harry Potter and it came up along with the Harry Potter advent calendar. The website is horrendously slow though. I’ve only just managed to pay since I commented last.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Not an HP fan but that doesn't stop me from loving the phoenix

Gravatar
By in France,

Those are pretty good actually, none of those Fantastic Beasts nonsense thrown in there, which is good. Those mugs of butterbeer Ron and Herminoe are holding, I thought was polyjuice potion at first, no idea why ;)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Oooh, nice! :D

Kingsley is on my wanted list for sure... so's Ginny, honestly, as my favourite HP character, even though I have a couple of versions of her already and this one is in an outfit here that only got, like, two seconds of screentime xD Moaning Myrtle's a pretty cool inclusion, as well, though I'd have to see a her from a better angle to decide whether I'm interested in getting her or not; and I'm almost wishing I'd held off on getting the series 1 Neville, as this one looks more adaptable to other scenes than the previous version!

I'm curious about Griphook having a normal minifigure head, when previous goblins have had a uniquely moulded one :o And while Fred and George look neat, I feel like the hats spoil them a little bit... limits their usability in other contexts.

The others don't have particular standout appeal to me; although I will agree that Dumbledore's new pieces are pretty spectacular :D

Gravatar
By in United States,

This is going to be an expensive next few months for Harry Potter fans. Brace yourselves!

All the CMFs this year have been $5 in the US

Gravatar

@Bycougars, the price has actually been $4.99 since the DC mini figure series in the US here, though Walmart has still been selling for $3.99.

Gravatar

Thanks for the info. I haven’t purchased any minifigs since the Disney minifig series 2 so I guess I’ve been out of the loop on these

That rumor was around last year and it turned out to be true since all the CMF have been $5 this year. As others have said IF you can find them at Walmart they are still selling at the lower price, which is nice. But it has been hit/miss here if Walmart even has a CMF series.

Then you have to decide about feeling up bags vs buying them blindly.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I've found CMFs for $3.44 at Walmart.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Still no Lockhart? I'm not a huge fan of that character per say, but really? Haven't had since 2002 which still used yellow skin. And Cat Hermione would be much more interesting than anther regular variant. Overall, this is another exciting wave, especially the new molds, but seems to have a few weird inclusions, such as Lily and James, who aren't real characters without being flashbacks or ghosts.

Gravatar
By in United States,

A lot of greatness here with a healthy dose of the blahs. I'd love figs of Fred and George but those face prints look like something from Spongebob or Adventure Time. The clothes of Hermione and Ron are pretty dated (although true to the movie.) Dumbledore, Luna, Griphook, Lilly, James, Shaklebolt, Myrtle, Sprout and Dudly are all home runs. I'm really glad they're doing this 2nd series.

That’s why i like those faces! Maybe they go well with Finn the Human (from the Dimension set)
And if you don’t like them, just swap them! It’s Lego!

Gravatar
By in Denmark,

Good for the Harry Potter fans with a series TWO...

... but why the brick don't we get a Lord of the Rings series ONE?

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Yes! Accio Complete Set!

So many good parts here. I’d say my Top 5 are:
Myrtle
Ginny
Neville
Sprout
Dumbledore (not in that order)

Best parts are Fawkes, butter beer and the very neat Monster Book of Monsters.

Only request is maybe a few more Fantastic Beasts figures. Young Dumbledore, Young Newt and Nagini have reserved spaces, despite my dislike of Crimes of Grindelwald.

1. We know we’re getting a Diagon Alley set after the minifigures for Harry and Florean Fortescue leaked a few weeks ago and the sticker sheets that leaked yesterday (You can see these on the legoleaks on Instagram, though you’ll have to scroll a while for the figures).
2. A couple of months ago the possible price leaked along with the second name, and if i remember correctly it was $350 US.

Blame Jeff Bezos I suppose. If he wasn't willing to spend so much money on the TV rights they could've been picked by HBO Max. Then Warners may have been encouraged to do some cross-promotion, much like they're doing with the Wizarding World.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Every one of these is a must have, with the possible exception of Luna—I love the character, but I don’t much care for the lion hat.

New sword mold+new goblet mold=the return of Castle?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Yup, yup, yup! Lotsa nice new pieces n' prints, as expected! Can't wait to get my *hands* on these! ;)

Gravatar
By in United States,

@benbuildslego:
New elements include Fawkes, Dumbledore's hat, butterbeer mug, lion hat, Sword of Gryffindor, ice cream dish/martini glass, Fred/George hat (oh, look, they've been arranged alphabetically!), Myrtle hair, Sprout hair/hat, and Monstrous Book of Monsters cover. Parts I'm not sure about include Ginny's hair and Kingsley's hat. Bellatrix' hair _looks_ like the one from the original Burrow set, but until I get my hands on a copy I can't be sure if the design is the same, or if there have been some slight changes (when viewed from the front, there are two pronounced peaks on top of the original, and it looks like the lower one on Bellatrix' left might be missing, plus the ripples on her right side look like they've been smoothed out).

Gravatar
By in Turkey,

I just like plain clothed Harry.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@benbuildslego:
Forgot one. Griphook’s hair looks like it might be new, but I can’t be 100% sure without digging through all the goblin-style hairs they’ve done for LotR, DC, Marvel, Elves, etc.

Yes, the set is confirmed and is rumored for a September 1st release, although I think it might be pushed back since we have no official images yet. Two minifigs and the sticker sheets have leaked

It's a baby Harry.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The point of a CMF should be to include characters we would never get in sets. By that criteria, I would say that Harry, Hermione, Ron, Ginny, and Neville are all weak picks. We should more interesting variants of the main characters, like Ron in his Quidditch uniform.
Luna and Bellatrix look really good, but they're not really variants I'm particularly interested in.
Dumbledore looks fantastic and the phoenix is even better, but we've already gotten three other Dumbledores.
Lily and James are excellent but I don't think they're particularly useful. They're still pretty solid choices, though.
Griphook is also great but I think he should have been saved for the Gringotts bank set that will presumably release next year since it seems Gringotts will not be in the Diagon Alley set.
Fred, George, Kingsley, Myrtle, and Sprout are all perfect picks in my opinion and they all look very well executed. My favorite figure from this series is Kingsley.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The angle of Harry’s neck is I’m assuming a digital pose. But it seems odd because I don’t recall the images made for the printed paper insert showing anything a real minifig can’t do. So it's some combination of not being a final image, and me misremembering.

Either way, these look fantastic.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@belindaj:
Snape doesn't really have any major appearance changes throughout the entire movie run except for the Boggart-Snape, which they've already released in the boxed 4-pack, and the Half-Blood Prince flashback reveal. If they do more HP CMF waves, HBP Snape would be the only possibility I could see for a alternate version of Snape. Otherwise, all they can really do is keep slipping him into a set here or there.

@CaptainCalamari:
They have to maintain a balance between weird, quirky characters that they'd never be able to incorporate into a set, major characters that will help sell the packets, and filling in notable gaps in the lineup. Gaps that they've filled include the Potter parents, Griphook, Myrtle, and Kingsley. They've done a Sprout minifig before, but it was almost a decade ago and looks terrible compared to this one (no hair, which was a problem that even the newest McGonagall shares). There's no reason they couldn't have held off on Sprout for either a greenhouse set, or put her in more general set like they did in the original run.

Luna, Bellatrix, and Neville all fall into the quirky category. Sure, they could all be incorporated into a regular set, but they are all scene-specific appearances that would basically need to have a set created around them, so it's just easier to slip them into the CMF line (besides, the CMF line is a completely different group of people, so they have their own ideas on which minifigs they want to see produced that might not agree with the team producing the main sets).

Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Dumbledore are probably going to be staples of any future HP CMF wave. For this to happen, they'll have to stick to versions that are visually distinct from anything they've already produced in the new run, which they've done a lot better for this wave than they did for the first. Yes, short of doing another Quidditch set (which is entirely possible), CMF or DK books seem like the only two options for a Quidditch Ron minifig, but compare the two CMF versions of Harry, Ron, and Hermione. In the first wave, they were all wearing the same uniform. In the second wave, they're all dressed like the scene where they're drinking butterbeer together. Clearly the CMF team is trying to include them in matched sets.

That just leaves the Weasley siblings. The Marauder's Map and the hats tell me those are supposed to be Fred and George from the scene where they give Harry the map, but the outfits don't match (they had dark-green hoodies). Still, they've only been released before in the Diagon Alley set from the first run. Ginny _just_got_ her first Wizarding World minifig in the new Burrow set. She appears to be in her dress from Slughorn's party. They skipped her for the Yule Ball lineup in the Clock Tower, so that would have made more sense than an outfit from a scene they haven't covered yet. I think Harry from one of the DK books is the only other minifig they've released from that scene. And of course, there are still the three older brothers who haven't been produced at all, so there were certainly other options for the Ginny minifig.

@B_Space_Man:
Check Ginny's left knee. I don't see any evidence of CGI trickery in the DC Superheroes wave, but I haven't bought any of S20.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Skimming back over the thread, I see a couple previous posts that I wanted to address.

@JustADogGirl:
As I just noted (and just noticed), the HRH trio from both CMF waves have been matched sets from a single scene. If they were to do Hermione with her cat face, it would make sense to pair her up with Harry and Ron as Crabbe and Goyle. Crabbe got fired from the movie series for one criminal offense. Goyle got an updated minifig by himself during the revival of the original run, right around the time that Crabbe got imprisoned for a second, more egregious offense. That and the lack of minifigs for either character in the Wizarding World line makes me wonder if they haven't been instructed to steer clear of the character. It's worth noting that Crabbe and Lockhart are, I believe, the only two remaining HP characters who got yellow minifigs but were never updated to fleshies.

@BionicleJedi:
They have everything set up for printing on standard minifig heads, but printing on the old goblin head would require designing a new pad shape. The mold hasn't been used in long enough that it might have been destroyed already. And when they switched sculpted SW aliens from unprinted to printed heads, they've usually designed new molds that provide a smooth surface for the eyes to be printed on. So, I don't think it was ever going to be possible to do Griphook using the old head sculpt (which looks incredibly dated anyways), and it was probably just easier to use a standard head with hair/ears that could see more widespread use outside of the HP theme.

Gravatar
By in Poland,

Once again a sad series that I will get on sale just for pieces.
Why James has Brown hair???

Gravatar
By in United States,

Same issues with JKR, so I'll buy what I want on the secondary market. I want:

2 x Dumbledore, 2 x Flitwick for the costumes
2 x Kingsley, because Kingsley
1 x Luna because Luna

If Myrtle had been trans-clear or even trans-black, I would have bought a dozen!

, it would 8 x Butterbeer glass & martini glass
6 x Luna's lion hat, to create lions for my circus

Maybe a few other accessories: dark red scarf, picture, & monster book

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Disappointed. More of what weve already got. Just like we needed a second batman and disney. Really hoping now that nintendo has licenced to lego we get a fig series from that

Gravatar
By in Poland,

the first one had a skip for me, but this one... I need all D :

Gravatar
By in United States,

I really might've preferred Fred and George be one minifig (ending up with a duplicate becomes a plus!) and someone take up the slot taken by the second brother. A lot of these aren't characters I particularly wanted or needed, though there's some lovely new parts.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

These look amazing! I’ve never liked Harry Potter or heard of it. I don’t even know what LEGO is!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

These look cool. Want that Griphook! The accessories are amazing on all of them!

Gravatar
By in United States,

@CCC:
I believe you'd actually get 28.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Only about half of these figures look good on their own merits. Feels like the others come with rare pieces such as the butter beer that Lego is counting on collectors pursuing. I’ll wait to get those pieces when they release Diagon Alley. Aside from Myrtle, Sprout, Griphook, Dumbledore and Kingsley none of the figures wow me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Dope i really wanted to see Fred and George in the 1st and here they are!!!!!!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

@JVM:
A bold choice, which would probably result in negative feedback, would have been to make Fred in one outfit, and George in a different outfit. Then if you end up with duplicates of either minifig you've got both twins, and you get two options for their outfits.

I don't understand why Lego won't release official images yet… there are pictures all over the Internet!

Anyway, I look forward to this series.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Just saw these at the local Fred Meyers in Oregon. I will still wait to order them from one of my preferred Bricklink Stores. I'm too lazy to "feel" the packages for the right ones. Plus, Fred 7 George might be difficult to differentiate from each other.
