10274 Ghostbusters ECTO-1 revealed!
Posted by Huw,
Despite Ghostbusters: Afterlife being postponed until next summer, LEGO is ploughing ahead with the release of a 'UCS' version of the franchise's iconic Cadillac. Here's the press release:
10274 Ghostbusters ECTO-1
2352-pieces, 18+
£179.99, €199.99, $199.99, AU$299.99, CA$259.99
Available from 15th November
Ahead of the release of the hotly anticipated Ghostbusters: Afterlife film launching in 2021, the LEGO Group has announced the largest and most detailed LEGO brick recreation of one of the most iconic cars from the silver screen, the Ghostbusters ECTO-1.
This buildable version of the classic car is sure to delight Ghostbusters and LEGO brick fans alike, crammed full of authentic details from the iconic converted 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor ambulance which is sure to bring a retro feel to any LEGO brick car collection. This highly detailed set includes a range of tools and features needed by any Ghostbuster to track and catch ghoulish enemies.
The LEGO Ghostbusters ECTO-1 is perfect for film fans that want to build their very own piece of the new Ghostbusters: Afterlife movie. With a moving ghost sniffer activated by the wheels, an extendable rear gunner seat, working steering wheel and a whole host of other paranormal detection equipment on the detailed roof rack, the set ensures you’re ready for any ghost finding mission. The car also would not be complete without printed versions of the Ghostbusters logo adorning the car doors making this the ultimate gift for Ghostbusters fans and film car enthusiasts.
The new LEGO Ghostbusters ECTO-1 is the most detailed LEGO brick recreation of the car ever produced and is the latest in a collection of film-based LEGO model building kits for adults who love building to relax and escape from the stresses of life. This set features two brand new elements including a new 6x14x curved windscreen and a new 5 module steering wheel.
Talking about the creation of the LEGO Ghostbusters Ecto-1, the sets LEGO designer, Michael Psiaki said “I love creating LEGO vehicles and having previously designed the LEGO James Bond Aston Martin DB5, I loved the challenge of working on the ECTO-1. This is the largest and most detailed version of this car that we have ever created, It is crammed full of authentic features and Easter eggs, that I’m excited for builders to discover as they put this model together.
The LEGO Ghostbusters ECTO-1 contains 2,352 pieces and measures over 8” (22.5cm) high, 18” (47cm) long and 6” (16.5cm) wide and will be available directly via LEGO.com from November 15th.
You can view more images on the set details page.

...why release this again? Who buys these for $200?
Is it just me or do the proportions look off?
no thanks

This is a larger scale and ties into the new film that’s on the way.
Looks great. For $200 I wish there were some minifigs but that won't stop me from buying...eventually.
I really like it. Just waow. Will buy it one day but need the Mustang first
The stickers! So many stickers! There's around 30 just on the side we can see! For all our sakes, Lego, please stop putting huge numbers of stickers on the premium sets!!
So neither the scale of Creator Expert Cars nor 1989 Batmobile? Bit weird...
Not a fan of the movies, so zero interest from me, but that is a very impressive model!
Maybe a little oversized, I do wonder if it would have been better at a kind of Creator-car scale.
Love seeing the Classic Space print making a redux! However, wish there would be more pearl/metallic pieces, like on the Ideas set.
One of the best display sets ever, look at those detail images, looks fantastic.
It's pretty cool, but maybe it's looking off because the side windows aren't angled in? Was a really clever solution in the Ideas set that really added to the look. Not sure why it could have been left off, as the front window appears to be a new piece it could have been designed to include the angle too.
Yes, fantastic. But it's not my bag.
BTW, more trains please.

Based on length it is nearly the exact scale of the Creator Mustang. The Caddy Miller-Meteor was an extremely long vehicle.
amazing design MP !
If it is as good as the mustang it will be a great build.
A massive chunk of white bricks, hail RetroBright!
Perfect display piece! I will defo get it - day one if nice GWP will happen, or wait till there will be fancy one ;)
interesting
new windshield piece?
Love it and will have to get this...eventually. With all the releases of the last 2-3 months I have to give my bank account a break LOL. Not sure why they couldn't put this off to next year but figure they want to get in on the Xmas Nostalgia purchasing and get these out of the warehouses. Hopefully won't be an issue getting these later
where's them minifigs?
or will they be releasing seperate packs either containing the new kids or the old crew?
People who wanted this would’ve purchased the one previously. People with no interest in Ghostbusters would still not purchase this. Not sure why they’re releasing a larger version
The previous 8-wide 21108 fitted neatly into the firehouse, even if I had unlimited money I'm not sure where I would store this! I didn't realize that there was such a large Ghostbusters fan base to make such a big and expensive 16-wide vehicle viable when there are so many other cars after the DB5 the designer could have chosen from.
Assuming it'll be in the new plastic, that windshield piece is going to get scratched to hell of it's not inside its own bag!
Boy, I wish Lego would release some more adult sets this year...
The only thing that interests me is the windscreen piece.
Ghostbusters is just a bit rubbish.
Looks awesome. Love it.
Actually I like the stickers, as it means you don't have to put all those rust patches on if you don't want to. Looks like the actual logos are printed, as the same panel is used in the doors and the boot (trunk) hatch.
Pretty cool!
Do they use a different material for the windscreen in the press images? Eurobricks has already a review of the car, and the windscreen looks absolutely horrible: https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/181247-review-10274-ghostbusters-ecto-1/
This does not seem like an ideal use of TLC's energies and efforts to me. But what do I know. Maybe there's a huge market for it somehow.
What's not evident by skimming the press release and looking at that one photograph is that this thing is packed full of clever functions. I highly recommend reading the Eurobricks review above for more information but suffice to say, this is a much more interesting model than it looks.
@PicnicBasketSam Definitely! I thought at first this was just a static display piece, but the incorporated functions make this an absolute gem of a set!
Can we see a D2C DeLorean and KITT?
As I'm not "hotly anticipating" the new movie, I'd rather stick with my 21108 Ideas set.
I’m surprised to not be excited by this. Feels like yet another regurgitated idea. If anything needed a redo it was the BTTF DeLorean. I like my minifig scale Ecto-1s just fine and would rather have seen something new and different. I’m starting to get déjà vu with all the re-releases. Guessing this may have been driven (pun intended) by outside forces.
Omg, look at the grille, it contains "1 billion" rollerskates! <3
To much stickers.
I have counted almost 39 only for the rust spots.
To be considered, for sure not on day one.
Great design, but the clear plastic is awful. Come on Lego, you can do better than that.
I more see this in the line of the VW Beetle Van, Mini Cooper, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Mustang and Fiat
A UCS Ecto-1? Shut up and take my money! Jeez Lego you're killing me, I'm still hurting from the Cantina! :D
Fantastic looking set, definitely on my purchase list, when there's a sweet GWP. I love the Ghostbusters, I own the firehouse and the Ideas Ecto-1, but I'll definitely be getting this too.
However, I think I'll be skipping the rust stickers, they stick out too much and distract from the other details too much IMO.

All the new trans milk pieces (I will never call them trans clear anymore) look horrible. When I bought my first Lepin set the only pieces of bad quality were the transparent ones as they had exactly the same milky "quality". I replaced all of those with original LEGO ones back in the day.
Nowadays TLG themselves offer this sub-par quality. Such a shame, even the knock-offs by now have better quality trans-clear pieces.
Even more annoying that TLG doesn't want to admit to the bad quality so instead they cheat in all their promotional material and box art, showing perfect trans-clear when the reality is very different. Someone should really sue them for false advertising.
So, thanks but no thanks. I'll stick with my old version WITH minifigs.
I think it looks quite nice!
Though I already got the Ideas Ecto-1 way back when, so I'm not too interested in this one personally. Kinda wish they released some cheaper Ghostbusters sets as well for the kids to play with. (Hidden Side doesn't count)
Shame they didn't include minifigures of the Ghostbusters from the upcoming movie, but I can understand that this model is meant to focus more on the car itself.
Coolest, most interesting set I’ve seen in awhile... Would get this over the Eaglemoss version for sure.
...and what’s with all the belly-achers on here. This is legit cool looking.
I guess we have to wait for BTTF4 to see an UCS DeLorean...
Should there be a spoiler warning over that RC Trap-Bot? :D
I'm assuming that you will be reviewing it soon. If so, please take a shot alongside Batmobile and some Creator cars!
Ok, now where is my Speed Champions DB5 or Bond LEGO theme??? Is it wrong to only want this for the Caddy details so it can be converted into a '59 Convertible. Like the pink Maisto one I used to have.
I like it but I won't buy one the Batwing is around the same price so I'll get that instead...
Nice, terrific and fabulous!
Had it been a revival of the old Ghostbusters Ecto-1 with the original team then I might have considered buying it.

Welcome to Brickset, my friend!
LEGO is serious business and everyone is an armchair expert on what kids like.

Meeeee! This is the most excited I've been about a set in a while.
I'm honestly puzzled at the lack of interest, looking through the comments. Maybe not as many people are into the film anymore? It's one of my favorites, so I'll happily buy any BG-themed Lego products.
Now just keeping my fingers crossed for a UCS DeLorean someday.
^ I'm with you. This isn't for me, but it's a fantastic rendition and a clear improvement over the Ideas set.
@whitemocha said:

Why? The original movie was decades ago, the reboot sucked and rightfully tanked at the box office. And even though I have got both the firehouse and the Ideas Ecto-1 as well as the Dimensions sets, having watched the original film on DVD recently I wonder why I was such a fan back in the day. Maybe because I was a kid and didn't know any better (hell, I used to love Cannonball Run too), but my current reaction is Meh. I think movies like Star Wars or BTTF have aged far better.
Big fan of the ECTO-1, I tried making my own way back when I was around 13.
What is a shame is the amount of stickers and plastic glass though... Well, the stickers I can look past, as I have plans on converting it into the original ECTO-1, but the windshield/glass quality...? Man, it hurts. I have legit no idea as to why TLG are using cheaper "transparent" plastic - perhaps someone messed up in the Plastic department...
I hope those scratches and rust are stickers, because I would never apply them.

I thought that was really clever
Like this but might wait for a discount like John Lewis did on the technic Lambo Sian and got £120 off with their offer. Plus running out of space to display them all as I prefer the bigger sets, more of a building challenge. However, may need something to do by the end of the lockdown so who knows!

Because the premise alone is awesome as a kid!
Who wouldn’t want to be apart of a team having fun fighting ghosts while messing with both government figures and supernatural beings alike? There’s all sorts of stuff you can do with that setup and some imagination.
I actually recommend the IDW comics and the videogame. You can usually find the latter for a good price.

Very cool model. I am betting on Mike Psiaki as the LEGO Designer behind it. <3 it.
The Delorean was pretty ugly and the previous Ecto was fine. Not sure why it’s not the Delorean getting a second chance.
This looks like an utter nightmare of sticker placement. Why are they all so close to the edges of their pieces? Yeesh, LEGO...
Aren’t the options ‘Yes, eventually’ and ‘Yes, but I'll wait for a discount’ more or less the same?
Wow, that comes as a surprise! Particularly because I had no idea there's a new Ghostbusters movie coming :)
I really don't know about this one. I love Lego cars; it's more or less the only kind of models I build these days. And 21108 is one of my favorite Lego sets ever. It's on permanent display on my very limited display space. So, I should be rejoicing to get a large version, right? Somehow I'm not, but rather thinking "Do I really need this in large?" and "will it be as fun as the current model?"
Another expensive sticker pig.

Hopefully whatever new, and even more sustainable, material comes along to replace this will be without the issues this one has, then, and not too many products in the near future will be tarnished by what they're probably well aware by now is a subpar material.
@biffuz:
BttF4 will never happen. The Bobs have a contractual right to approve any new stories, and they’ve both said they’re not planning to do so in this lifetime. And that was before MJF was diagnosed with Parkinson’s. The last time I saw new footage of him, he looked like he was in pretty rough shape, and I think he’d have a rough time trying to film another sequel. Bob Gale also did an interview recently where he said there’s no way they’d recast Marty just to make another sequel. And this is coming from a guy who basically hasn’t had a career since the mid-90’s (he was effectively blacklisted, but I can’t remember what for).
Whee, what a great model! Such brilliant building techniques! Such awesome functions! ... Such milky, scratched windows ... such $200 I'm not going to spend ... but seriously, this is a great model and I hope it sells well. It makes sense for them to release it now even though the movie is delayed because they must have a lot of stock they're sitting on. And no, contrary to some comments up-thread, this is NOT a re-release! There certainly has NOT been an Ecto-1 in this scale before. That's like calling the Creator Expert 1967 Mustang from 2019 a re-release because there was a Speed Champions 1968 Mustang from 2018. Same subject, completely different scales = not a re-release!
Bttf 4-6 were made as computer games. You can watch fan-cut into 1.5 hr film versions here: https://youtu.be/h3MTNxN77R0
These fan-cut versions were very well made and the continuation of the story is superb
The windshield is the best new part in a long, long time! Hurrah!
Just hoping it will be actually decently transparant, as some have dampened the enthousiasm a bit.
Love the model, definite pick up for me. Incredible details.
It's based off of the 'new' movie that was supposed to come out so that's why I see so many 'rust' stickers. Just leave those off or look at the pics of the newer film and you'll see it doesn't have so much 'rust' on the edges like it shows here in this model.
Mix and match those stickers so it doesn't look like duplicates next to one another, use less stickers or just leave them ALL off.

It looks like only the "rust" parts are stickers, which means you have the option of having a brand new ECTO-1 or an old, battered one. That seems like a good idea to me (and I'd leave them off!).
EDIT: Sorry, didn't notice the too small stickers on the roof gear. The logo etc. look printed, though, so stickers could be minimal if you want them to be.

Ahem, you have seen the review linked in one of the comments above?
It's not at all "decently transparent". It looks awful, scratches extremely easily, and is generally very sub-par quality. Not something one expects from a company that claims to be the quality leader.
Plus the dishonesty of the marketing material and box art. For crying out loud TLG, be honest and show the hideous quality on the box and then try to sell this set to paying customers!

In this case I’m very happy they used stickers, especially for the rust. So I can choose to leave it off
Excellent rendition, detailed, so iconic, Ilikeitalot. But I won't get it eventually. Now whether it's worth such a scale and price point or not, I don't know. If I could I would, but have (many) other lego priorities and dreams.
I wonder if application of floor wax to these new trans-clear parts can improve the clarity and should help remove scratches. I've seen it mentioned as a remedy for restoring older beat-up window parts.

The number plate even looks like a sticker, I could be wrong though as it's hard to tell.

Are we looking at the same announcement? This is not even close to a re-release
I dislike stickers so much. I can omit all the rusty ones easily. I just hope the Ghostbusters logo is printed on those pieces.
I'd have bought this would this have been in the scale of the Batmobile. Unfortunately, LEGO keeps shifting scales so these cars "only" look great if you put just one on display.
I guess the DeLorean is next?

This is the scale of the Batmobile, almost exactly. Looking at the comparison photos here: https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/181247-review-10274-ghostbusters-ecto-1/ and knowing that the Ecto-1 is supposed to be 20 feet and the Batmobile is supposed to be a little under 22. They're almost exactly at the same scale. What makes you think they aren't?

Not until a Back to the Future sequel. This exists because there's a new Ghostbusters movie, not just for kicks

The no-ghost logo is printed on those three panels
This is perfect -- the decals I want are printed, the ones I don't are stickers. Beautiful looking set.
That glass is neither as good as nor better than the material it is replacing. Is there anybody left in Billund who remembers GKK and his motto?
You can’t charge £200 for a LEGO set if your mantra is now “Only the best used to be good enough”.
I really like this, but I don’t have as big of a connection to Ghostbusters as other 80s films, particularly Back to the Future or Indiana Jones.
Not to say this is bad, but I also expected some minifigures! I might wait for when they do a DeLorean.

Plastic polish, like Plastic-RX, does a great job of removing scratches. I have had 30 year old parts come up like new.
Have had quite a few clear parts in new sets come out of the box scratched up. Really not good enough for the price Lego charge for their ‘premium’ product!
If I get this, I will be requesting a new part if the windscreen is beaten up. I suggest everyone does the same, it is the only way Lego will address the problem.
Very nice set. Yes I am a fan of Ghost Busters but not buying on day one. I will most likely wait until Black Friday.
This should've included minifigs, like the Batman vehicle sets did. And appropriate GWP (like a 4-wide ECTO-1). Into the wishlist, not on the shopping list then.

If LEGO decided to make new windscreens/windows/bottles for 18+ sets out of Gorilla Glass, I would buy them even if sold separately on LEGO.com. Gorilla Glass is already used on Ford F-150 and Jeep Wrangler, it can't be that expensive.

If they did do a DeLorean, I would hope for BTTFII minifigures of Doc with his yellow trench coat and visor, and Marty with his 2015 clothing and hat, and, if we're lucky, Einstein. This Ecto - 1 would look better with minifigures; however, I do not know if they would be effective or recognizable, as they would likely be based on the 2021 reboot instead of the original films.

Then why did they make a Batmobile and Batwing based on the 1989 Batman movie? I don’t think they made a UCS ECTO-1 just because there’s a new Ghostbusters movie. There’s an appetite among adult collectors for sets based on nostalgic franchises and movies and TLC knows it.

Because there's Batman media every single year, not to mention the fact that the Batmobile was meant to coincide with the 80th anniversary of Batman's debut.
You can see on the box and in the instructions that this model is specifically based on the version of the car found in the new movie. There are many aspects of this model that would be incorrect if it was based on the original movies. The reason for this car is the new movie, it's a bit silly to think otherwise.
I'm not disagreeing that nostalgia exists. There's a reason that we've already gotten a Delorean (two if you count Dimensions). But nostalgia is not the reason for this set. If there was not a new movie slated to be released, then this set would not exist. That is why a large-scale version of the Delorean is not next up, because there's no movie coming soon or even being talked about. Superheroes and comic characters have been a big part of Lego for decades. Things like Batman exist on a different level compared to things like BTTF or Ghostbusters. The '89 vehicles don't just have the appeal of 80s nostalgia, ANY Batman fan (of which there are easily hundreds of millions) can very easily appreciate them. The fanbase for other franchises just isn't at that level, especially when there hasn't been new content for decades.

One word: nostalgia.. Maybe Germans don't get the humor the way we do in the US? It's still hilarious to me. About 100 quotable lines.

Ummm bc it was batman’s 80th anniversary plus the new movie in the works
Looks great! One of the few high-end sets I'm actually drooling over. I liked the film, and I love classic ambulances. This is $200, about the same cost of a Greenlight/Artisan 1/18 Cadilac Ambulnace. But, I know some less-expensive high-detail models I own are really fragile, at least in LEGO, replacing a part that popped off is easy.
I think Ecto-1 (and its countless replicas) are like spray-painting the Mona Lisa. These old coachbuilt, car-based ambulances, hearses, and combination cars are very pleasing to the eye to look at. I really do want this set, with that being said. My plans are to convert it into a proper 1959 Cadillac/Miller Metor. The only problem I'm having is properly replicating some of the EMS equipment in use at the time. Especially a Ferno Model 30 stretcher--used on ambulances for decades. Ferno still makes the thing, surprisingly, in a non-metallic format almost 70 years later.
I so want to know how those grey barrels are being held up.
How many roller-skates make up the front grill?

Anecdotal evidence for sure, but I know far more people that are fans of BTTF (or Ghostbusters, or Indiana Jones for that matter) than there are fans of superheros. Granted, of those few superhero fans, most are Batman (or Spider-Man) fans, but still, the relationship is like ten to one.
Maybe in the US, with its huge fandom of anything superhero, it is different, but over here, BTTF is far more popular by a huge margin. Take the Playmobil lineup as an example, which is the second most popular toy over here. They have both BTTF as well as Ghostbusters sets (like the firehouse and the Ecto-1) and have had them for years, yet they don't offer a single superhero related set of any kind, and no one seems to miss them. Go figure.

Not until a Back to the Future sequel. This exists because there's a new Ghostbusters movie, not just for kicks"
Since it was declared Back to the Future would never get a reboot (although things may change), will we ever see a D2C DeLorean?

You shouldn't have to "remedy" NEW parts!

I don't think it's impossible but I don't think it's likely, although if this knocks it out of the park then there's a decent chance. Given that the license has been established it wouldn't be too difficult. But it's the same vibe as people in every comment section that say "Ok, now bring Castle back". That's not how these things work
That second picture on the set details page really looks like he is struggling to put one of the stickers on straight.

Ahaa!
I don't--I *really* don't--need this. But I want it all the same...well, except for all the rust, which I can fortunately leave off by leaving those stickers on their sheet. Yes, I know any car that goes through a New York winter is likely to get rust in all those places, but there's a time and a place for realism and dream machines like ECTO-1 aren't required to submit to it.
The movie franchise has nothing to do with my love for this model, by the way. My earliest memory of a toy car was a Matchbox version of the Cadillac ambulance, which seemed the coolest idea ever to my youthful (female) eyes. Still does even now; the ghostbusting gig only adds a little gilding to the gorgeous lily!
I’ve saw positive and negative comments so far, this is a positive one as I’ll be buying it ASAP
Why no minifigs???
I love it but I definitely will leave the stickers off to make it look more like the original Ecto-1 from the first 2 movies.

You are absolutely correct! But since this new plastic is what we get to work with, I was searching for a way to self-help and improve it's resistance to further scratching and clarity given the shortcomings.
In any case, I will do the same as @matrox2001 stated and be sure to call up LEGO CS and demand a replacement if the windscreen is as scratched up on arrival as the part was in that eurobricks review. I've found having LEGO send out individual replacement parts for such vulnerable pieces usually arrive in much better condition.

"The stickers! So many stickers! There's around 30 just on the side we can see! For all our sakes, Lego, please stop putting huge numbers of stickers on the premium sets!!"
Normally I agree but seeing how I don't want the 'rust' I'm glad I have an option to omit them.
That looks great, Although I might be tempted to not affix the rust patch stickers on it, printed ghostbuster tile is a added bonus.
Deloreon next, Although might need to recover the bank balance first.
This set really needs a sound brick with the unique siren wail...

"Very cool model. I am betting on Mike Psiaki as the LEGO Designer behind it. <3 it."
It stands right there in the article, in a whole paragraph:
"Talking about the creation of the LEGO Ghostbusters Ecto-1, the sets LEGO designer, Michael Psiaki said “I love creating LEGO vehicles and having previously designed the LEGO James Bond Aston Martin DB5, I loved the challenge of working on the ECTO-1. This is the largest and most detailed version of this car that we have ever created, It is crammed full of authentic features and Easter eggs, that I’m excited for builders to discover as they put this model together."
As usual with the launch of a new set, there are many questioning why LEGO would produce it. And, as usual, those are obviously the people that won’t be buying it, lol. Not sure why they feel the need to even bring that up. This will sell out immediately. Just watch. Also, the panels with the logo are printed. The rust spots are stickers, thank goodness! I won’t be applying them.
Not interested in the source material, but the set looks pretty cool. I love the use of ice skates for the grille!
I would love to have this in my collection. I have the Fire garage, the previous Ecto-1 and even the Ecto set from the remake (which I still consider one of the worst movies I've ever seen).
What worries me a lot is the new window plastic. It looks absolutely horrible in that Eurobricks review. Foggy and scratched like a cat lady's couch. I have to see the set irl in a Lego store before I can decide if I'm willing to risk it. Come on Lego, this is beneath you...
I haven't been visiting the site as frequently as before so if its quite old I apologise, but I find this new poll at the bottom very useful
I am not a fan of the movie but this model looks excellent. It is such a weird vehicle and leaving out the stickers and some of the roof "ornaments" will make if fit great with creator cars. I guess that is something good about the stickers.
I’d quite like a Lego ideas sized Ecto-1 based on the Ghostbusters 2 movie. It would include minifigures of the 4 main ghostbusters and include a minifigure of Louis Tully in his ghostbusters uniform from the end of the movie. Minifigures of Dana & her baby. Plus a Dr Janosz minifigure with the Haunted painting!

The movie hasn’t been released yet
The level of detail and building techniques make this look like the modern equivalent of a "Model Team" set.

"Hopefully whatever new, and even more sustainable, material comes along to replace this will be without the issues this one has, then, and not too many products in the near future will be tarnished by what they're probably well aware by now is a subpar material."
If LEGO decided to make new windscreens/windows/bottles for 18+ sets out of Gorilla Glass, I would buy them even if sold separately on LEGO.com. Gorilla Glass is already used on Ford F-150 and Jeep Wrangler, it can't be that expensive."
That's... actually a really great idea. I wonder if a Gorilla Glass part would be difficult to attach and detach though. I'm not terribly familiar with the material other than its durability and scratch resistance.
Glass (regardless of what sort) would be even less "green" than the polycarbonate that transparent parts have been made of in the past.
As for this set, I already own the original Ecto-1 and the firehouse and at $300 here in Australia (and with the questionable glass and quality issues) I wont be rushing out out to buy this one.

The no-ghost logo is printed on those three panels"
Excellent news, thanks!
Day 1 purchase cuz member berries! =oD
I made my own GB Halloween costume in the 4th grade. Jumpsuit, shoulder patch, proton pack - the works. I was hooked. Searching for old photos.
I'll leave the rust stickers off and I don't even care if the new movie is ever released. Another awesome set made just for me!
I'm just not sure I want a UCS version of the Ecto-1 - I really want the original retired set that will fit with the Ghostbusters Fire House.

Because priorities...
Not a Ghostbusters fan. I have downloaded the instructions. It looks like it will be easy to remove the ghostbusting elements and convert it into a Cadillac. Or wait for someone else to post on instructions on Rebrickable how to mod it.

Agreed, first thing I thought of when I saw this was it would be an awesome Caddi model without all the ghostbusters stuff on it, would fit in well with the fiat 500 and mustang, etc
