UCS AT-AT revealed!

Posted by ,

Here's the press release for the long awaited and highly anticipated Ultimate Collector Series AT-AT:

75313 AT-AT
6,785 pieces, rated 18+, over 60cm tall
$799.99 / £749.99 / €799.99
Available from 26th November at LEGO.com

Today, the LEGO Group announces the new epic LEGO Star Wars AT-AT set – the latest launch in the Ultimate Collector Series set (UCS) line-up and a must-have for fans of LEGO and Star Wars.

The AT-AT (All Terrain Armoured Transport) first appeared in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, its huge presence appearing over the horizon on the icy fields during the Battle of Hoth, ready to attack the Rebel Alliance’s shield generator. Nothing like it had ever been seen before, and the Galactic Empire’s ground forces used the AT-AT's gigantic size to overpower the Rebellion and ultimately destroy Echo Base.

This immense new LEGO model is massive in size and detail, paying homage to the gigantic vehicles in the film. It features 6,785 pieces, a movable head, spinning guns, adjustable legs, and side panels that open to reveal amazingly detailed interiors.

In addition, the set comes with nine minifigures and accessories, including Luke Skywalker (along with a wire so fans can recreate the famous scene of him swinging from an AT-AT’s underside in an attempt to thwart their attack), General Veers, two AT-AT drivers, a Snowtrooper Commander and four Snowtrooper minifigures, as well as two speeder bikes and an E-Web cannon set accessories — plus plenty of interactive elements and Easter eggs! An amazing set for display or action, the set can also fit an army of Snowtrooper minifigures inside – 40 in total.

Even the unboxing is a rewarding experience, as the packaging displays beautiful imagery of the final set from all angles. Whilst all the pieces are stored in four internal boxes, which combined show the famous Battle of Hoth scene.

A must-have for any dedicated Star Wars fan, this model has been designed by legendary LEGO Design Master Henrik Andersen. Discussing the design, Andersen said, “the mega-sized LEGO Star Wars AT-AT set is the one everyone has been waiting for, and it’s been a thrill to bring this highly-anticipated build to life. The AT-AT was an engineering masterpiece and the LEGO set will make an impressive display. But we have also packed in plenty of details that will deliver hours of fun for fans of LEGO and Star Wars alike.”

The set forms part of the Ultimate Collector Series, which also includes the LEGO Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon set, LEGO Star Wars UCS A-wing set, and the recently released LEGO Star Wars UCS Republic Gunship set.

The LEGO Star Wars AT-AT set is available from 26th November 2021 at LEGO.com at the recommended retail price of $799.99 / £749.99 / € 799.99

  • Age –18+
  • Height 62cm / 24.5 inches, length: 69cm / 27 inches, width: 24cm / 9.5 inches
  • Pieces 6785
  • The latest LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series set
  • Featuring sliding side doors which open to detailed interiors, a movable head, adjustable legs, movable/spinnable guns, speeder bikes, an E-Web cannon
  • The set includes 9 minifigures based on the following characters and elements from Star Wars: Luke Skywalker, General Veers, two AT-AT drivers, a Snowtrooper Commander and four Snowtrooper minifigures
  • Price: $799.99 / £749.99 / €799.99

The price in the USA and the Eurozone is the same as that of 75192 Millennium Falcon, but it's £100 more than the Falcon in the UK which makes it the most expensive set ever sold here.

You can view more photos on the set details page and we'll be publishing our review very shortly.

Wow!

Nice.

By in United Kingdom,

Wow! £100 more than I was expecting. I actually though it could be a touch less than the MilF.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wow that looks impressive. I am just happy I'm not a Star Wars guy and will save myself $800. This is one expensive hobby!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Man that thing is huge. Can't wait to see more about that gearing that moves the legs.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I’m going to need to see a review or two of this. Something about the “head” isn't immediately hitting the right notes for me, but I suspect better angles and some comparison shots will help.

Why did I have to do a double take?

Gravatar
By in United States,

It's big. It looks cool. But no way does it look €800 cool.

Gravatar
By in United States,

They did this right. Pricey? Yes, but it’s impressive. The minifig + UCS fans will be happy!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wow, this looks awesome! But I’m not a big enough Star Wars fan for this - the 1,200 piece version from last year is good enough for me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'll stick with 75075 thank you very much.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Magnificent!

I feared that we'd never get a UCS AT-AT due to stability concerns, but I'm delighted that LEGO had the courage to take it on.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

That's a lot of AT-AT for quite a high price tag (moreso where I am). Hope everyone* who was looking forward to this is happy.

* Presumably excluding UK residents... some of whom might still be happy, but I doubt it's all of us.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

That's an expensive Snowtrooper Battlepack! ;-)

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Told you so ;-)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Target: maximum price point.

Gravatar
By in United States,

oh my god. this is AMAZING
I want to get it, but at $800 it would be quite difficult

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Wowzers same here had hopped for same or less than MF! I think this will have to be a purchase later on when on offer etc!

I suspect it's the viewport. To my eyes, it protrudes slightly too far from the rest of the cockpit giving the head a slight weird look.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

This is a beautiful set, and finally a UCS with more than 2 minifigures. The only thing I can find that I dislike are the blue technic pins at the head's side-cannons

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Ever since I heard rumours about this months ago, I started saving. Minute one purchase for me (if LEGO.com works, that is).

I do wonder how much it’ll be in CAD, however. Hopefully no more than $999.99

Gravatar
By in United States,

Looks like I gotta get up early for Black Friday this year and camp out at the Lego store!

Gravatar
By in United States,

The poll should be changed from:
"Yes, as soon as it's released"
to
"Yes, if the scalpers don't beat me to it."

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Sand blue chairs.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Stunning! Glad I'm not a Lego Star Wars collector as that is a huge price, love the look of it from underneath.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Maybe if this had come in around $400, I would have considered it. But double that, c'mon, that's not even right. Excited for it, and always a dream to have an AT-AT in the collection, but I finally shelled out for the 75288 this year. That will have to due.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Looks fantastic and I like the two land speeders stowed in the rear. Hopefully Lego will place in a perspex box in a Lego Store so can see in more detail! From the photo of Luke Skywalker hanging by a thread I assume that the mini-fig scale is more 1:1 with the movie?

By in Belgium,

Magnificent set, day-one purchase if the site doesn't crash… :s

I also just hope there won't be a price bump in the Benelux, like for 75192 Millennium Falcon, whose RRP is €849.99… (I know the article mentions a price of €799.99 in the Eurozone, but as long as I cannot get confirmation from Shop at Home, I will keep doubting…)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

All of a sudden, the Titanic looks more affordable.

Looks good, but too expensive.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Well, sadly, if that UK price IS correct (there have been some errors recently) it’s just too much to justify, especially looking at the other regional prices.
I’d been waiting to decide between this or the Titanic for my first ‘super set’, so I see a ship docking in the near future!

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

What a beast. Looks really cool, but I don't think I can spare that amount of money for a single Lego set. There are so many sets being released by LEGO it's getting harder to choose which sets I want to buy and which one I'm letting slide by me into resellers heaven or scalpers hell (whichever you prefer to call it). I'm waiting the first update on the 2022 modular for now before buying a- new LEGO set.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I can't wait to read the review and see how this thing works.
(stability, movement, etc)

Gravatar
By in Hungary,

I have a Raskolnikov Plus Size ATAT MOC already, but now I am thinking about a change... damn.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

It looks pretty good. Maybe the legs are a bit too thick and the viewport sticks out a bit much but overall the proportions are good and the level of detail is impressive. The interior looks amazing and it's nice that it fits so many troopers.

Though when I have €800 I'd rather get the Millennium Falcon of course, it's a way better deal. This should've been €700 at most.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Compared to this, the Titanic seems like a steal, doesn't it :-)

Plus, in contrast to Titanic, Star Wars fans still have to make do with a sticker instead of a print. Come on LEGO, at 800 Euro a printed dedication plaque should have been a given.

Gravatar
By in United States,

This looks fantastic, it truly does, but I can't help but feel that the continued use of X-Wing Pilot flak suits in Hoth inspired sets is a disappointment. The suits were different, and from 2013-2016, LEGO did a fantastic job differentiating them. For some reason the 20th Anniversary Snowspeeder started this use of inaccurate Minifigures. It's unfortunate that even in a set this big and high quality, that they didn't rectify this.

Gravatar
By in Spain,

Impressive, most impressive

From the panels on the lower right of the back of the box it appears theres a tool needed to lock and unlock the joints for posing. Probably a good compromise considering the current system scale one can barely stand on its own.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I'm certainly glad that Lego have some major releases that I have absolutely no interest in! And, as others have said, it seals the Titanic as my next must have bargain buy.

Gravatar
By in Romania,

What an amazing set!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I will be very disappointed if there isn’t a function with the front guns moving back and forth.

Gravatar
By in United States,

This is a beautiful set but I just can't with the size of these things. Between the Discovery shuttle, the UCS Gunship, now the Titantic and this ... where are we supposed to put these things???

There is, check out the review videos already out.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I would have loved it to have been app controlled for a really heated comments section!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm just here to see how many people are still whining about the (freaking fantastic) UCS Gunship on a completely unrelated article

Gravatar
By in United States,

Holy cow! Lots of space inside. I'm surprised by the number of minifigs included.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

So, who is going to buy 8 or 10 of these to fill one with Snowtroopers?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Too expensive (I’m a UK resident). £100 more than the Falcon that hasn’t even retired yet!? Daylight robbery, but sadly I fear I’ll be tempted nonetheless. Sigh.

Gravatar
By in United States,

This looks absolutely fantastic! Part of me can’t believe this set is finally happening.

The UK pricing is unfortunate, however. I’m just not seeing the justification there, particularly with the precedent set with the UCS Falcon.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Wow that looks pretty special. Not sure about spending £750 on it though.
I'll wait and see how CapnRex's review goes.

Gravatar
By in United States,

It’s big.
It’s expensive.
It’s going right past Hoth’s defenses,

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

@DoonsterBuildsLego said:
"So, who is going to buy 8 or 10 of these to fill one with Snowtroopers?"

There's an upcoming Hoth Battle Pack with 3 Snowtroopers in it. Might be a little easier than getting more AT-ATs ;)

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

"Oh, it's beautiful!"

I was floored when I saw that interior shot. It's actually fully usable! And like the crosssecections book! And packs multiple speeders! And actually packs a full legion! And the head actually has enough room to not be cramped anymore now...

Gearing the joints is ingenious. That way you can still pose it without losing stability. It won't be very playable though and adjusting everything would be a pain. But that's what the 2020 version is for!

And as usual, the price is so astronomically high that it reaaaally banks on the UCS AT-AT being super wanted because it's so overdue (not to mention closer to minifig scale than it ever will be again).

And here I was, not having the disposable money to buy the microfighter version amidst my other set priorities a few years ago. At least the pictures look nice (despite that black void of a box)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The price seems too high, and no mention of my prerequisites for a UCS AT-AT: fully accurate reciprocating cannons on its 'chin', preferably operated by turning a handle or some other technic mechanism. I can see arrows indicating the guns move in and out in the picture, but no clarification. Also the E-Web must include a power-pack!

Gravatar
By in United States,

A-ma-zing. Absolutely perfect. Now I need to stop procrastinating and get myself a copy of 75288, because there's no way I'm going to afford this one, much less have anywhere to put it ....

Gravatar
By in United States,

Is it actually in minifig scale?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I love it. However, I don't know whether to laugh or cry at the UK selling price *sigh*
Might have to be a long wait for sale

Gravatar
By in United States,

Surprised Luke doesn't come with printed arms like in the UCS Snowspeeder set.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I really have no interest in buying this at all (though it is very cool) but the ad for it put out on social media is my favourite ever!

Gravatar
By in Puerto Rico,

Oh this will look within scale on our own LEGO dioramas, interesting that they hinted at this monster in the Imperial SD UCS set.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Oooof. This is about £100 more than I was expecting (given I was expecting it to be the same price as the Falcon). I've been waiting for this set for forever though... Then again I've not got a UCS set since the Falcon...

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Looks great but the price - holy. Imagine if Lego did a $799 UCS castle set.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

This set is 950$, the Gunship was 480$. I dont see how this is worth it. Its just boring and, well, gray! An easy pass for me.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

With the Gunship coming out earlier this year I thought they'd wait on releasing this till next year. $1300 AUD is a lot with the Gunship coming in at $530 AUD and R2-D2 $330 AUD. It's an expensive year to be a Lego Star Wars fan in Australia! Still waiting on the first two to make it out to retail stores so I can at least pick them up on sale, otherwise will be missing out on all of them :(

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

£750!?! Lego really are getting ridiculous with these prices now. They are absolutely determined to make this an exclusive hobby for the very rich, just look at how many huge absurdly priced sets they’ve released this year alone. Even a millionaire would struggle to keep up!!! They are feeding straight into the scalpers hands and also driving people more towards cheap chinese knock off brands.

Gravatar

Eh. Looks cool but I'll get the ucs millenium falcon first.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

It’s the set I’ve always wanted, and given the source material, I don’t think they could’ve done a better job. Not very happy that it’s a £100 jump on the MF. A sub £700 price point is more reasonable and realistic

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

My 8 year old self could only dream about such an impressive set, but that price!!! Wowsers, that's expensive. It actually makes the Titanic look like a bargain.

Gravatar

Gravatar

Gravatar
By in South Africa,

Sweet - going to get it as soon as it is available in SA

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

The minifig selection compared to UCS Gunship is shocking. I'm glad they included a full crew this time around, we didn't give lego that much choice tho as there was massive backlash with UCS gunship minifig selection. 800 euro is too expensive for me, for most. This would make the ultimate christmas gift.

Unfortunately I have to agree. I have the Falcon but I just can’t see an extra £100 in this.

(I am UK just visiting mother in law in North Macedonia!)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Way too expensive for a Lego set. Close to $1000 including tax for a lego set. Most people couldn't afford such as toy. Although the SD has even worse ppp.

Gravatar
By in Norway,

Equals to $1065 in Norway. Omg. Glad I’m not a SWfan/collector, but a cool model nevertheless.

Gravatar
By in United States,

$800 for a child's plaything. P.S., November 26 is Black Friday.

Gravatar

Why buy big grey wedge for $700 when you could buy big grey turtle for $800?

Cool set, ticks all the boxes for UCS. Not something for me though.

Wow, seats like 38 troopers.
Incredible details in and out.
MUST GET!
Love that little screwdriver/wrench to adjust the legs. Very clever.

You don't have a dedicated Lego house? I love the Falcon, but it's my one big set and I only break it out occasionally. Some day I'll make one of those coffee table display cases for it. This thing is mighty impressive, though. Who would have thought we'd ever get a minifig-scale AT-AT?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

As much as I want this set and it looks phenomenal at £749 Lego have taken the price threshold to far. At what point does the Lego Group become only available to the elite.
I worked a bucket load of overtime to get my holy grail set the millennium falcon, if I did it again divorce would definitely be on the cards.
I will just have to admire this from afar.

Gravatar

Just like the Titanic, an amazing model that's way out of my price range. At least this model is the closest to minifig-scale

Gravatar
By in United States,

Looks pretty good, but it's too expensive. When LEGO was producing a huge number of sets over $200, I said it was getting ridiculous. Now, with an ever-growing number of sets not just over $300 or $400, not just $500, or $600, but $700; it's truly nuts. How long until they start selling over $1000 sets?

Gravatar

I hope this year's LEGO employee chistmas gift will be a 65756 in x-mas livery. Now that would be a nice bonus and in par with company's successful year.

Gravatar
By in Norway,

I've been waiting for this ever since my renewed interest for Lego and I must admit I had my doubts about the quality if they ever were to make one, but I have to say that this looks amazing!

I'd say it's perhaps even closer to canon than cavegod's moc.

And the fact that the legs and head is movable and that it has an interior and that it has the truest minifig scale I've ever seen and not just "minifig scale" is, again, just amazing.

Can't wait!

Gravatar
By in United States,

It's like 75252 over again. People will complain about the price, but SW fans are such slaves to the brand that they will pony up regardless. It's honestly disgusting that these people are enabling LEGO and Disney to get away with price-gouging. Truth be told, it isn't as bad a deal as the ISD, which ppp wise approached 20 cents per piece, and lacked the amount of minifigs and an interior like this AT-AT have. And blind SW fans will come up with inane excuses for the price like "It WeiGhs a L0t!" and "It Has LOts oF bIg PieCeS!" While in reality those potential expenses are balanced out by the fact that its mainly a model of ONE COLOR, and thus not all that complicated to manufacture. And why is there this time an additional surcharge in the UK?

Why would being predominantly one color make any impact whatsoever on the price? Lego manufactures each part type separately. If this were something like a model kit where all the parts could be punched off a sprue (and thus molded together) that might amount to some savings, but Lego's production line is instead optimized to easily produce individual parts of multiple colors, making any potential savings due to shared colors between parts negligible if any such savings exists at all.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I’ve never understood the love for the AT-AT, out of all the varied SW vehicles it’s way down the list for me, so I can admire the build and the engineering effort gone into the design, but I think i’m going to pass - I gambled my £££ on the Titanic over the AT-AT and I’m glad I did.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I think that's bigger than my doggo at home...

R2D2 is not coming to retails stores in Australia they are an Amazon AU exclusive, so no competition - which means the price will not go down. Not happy about that, Amazon AU shouldn't be considered a retailer here.
So you can get it through Zavi Australia - around $30 discount now and then, or double points day at Lego - which is approx 10%.

Not sure where the Gunship is being sold - still waiting for that to appear somewhere.

It’s always been a premium product and, in fairness to LEGO, it does loads of sets in the £10 to £35 range that even middle income families can afford (at least occasionally).

As for the super expensive sets, it’s a viable market segment. Super wealthy people - while fickle - aren’t affected by economic downturns. So it makes sense for LEGO to pursue them as a safety net for when the economy next turns bad. Other premium brands do the same thing.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'll definitely get this one, but it may be a while. I'm honestly unsure if timing the release of an $800 set right before the holidays is a good idea or a terrible idea. People have to stretch their dollar at this time of year with gifts and other sundry expenses. Is that offset by those who look at this and see it a a perfect holiday gift for someone? I don't know. I suspect not. Adults tend to get UCS sets for themselves.

Then again, Lego won't remove it from stores or from Shop-at-Home any time soon, so there's no real urgency. I just question whether the release day buzz takes a hit versus a release scheduled for somewhere in the ballpark of March, April or May. It would be a good May the Fourth release.

Absolutely disgusting price. Lego is real greedy these days.

Does anyone know how close to minifigure scale this is, it seems quite close considering how big AT-ATs are?

Certainly when you observe the Luke minifig dangling down from its belly the size looks "close enough for government work," as they say.

Anyway, one thing's settled for me. I have to buy 75288 a.s.a.p, to console myself for never being able to have this monster. Then I'm going to download the instructions for the big one and perhaps Bricklink a leg or the head to set, Ozymandias-like, behind the little 'un....

Defining minifigure-scale is typically difficult because it varies between sets. I published an article on the subject earlier this year, based upon the scale of 75192-1 Millennium Falcon: https://brickset.com/article/62976

Taking the Millennium Falcon as an established 'definition' for minifigure-scale, the AT-AT actually seems too large. However, this design looks marvellous beside minifigures to me, whether or not the scale is perfectly correct.

They are going to end up out pricing so many out of this hobby. I know this will never happen because people won’t unite but the entire Lego community should form a pact, boycott this set and others which are blatantly overpriced and refuse to buy any until they make them more reasonable prices.
There can be absolutely no justification for this price at all other than pure greed and taking AFOLs for mugs who’ll pay any price as long as the box has a Lego logo and a Star Wars logo on it. It’s no wonder their profits are so high.

No one's forcing you to buy it. In fact, a lot of people who are admiring the set are also admitting they probably won't actually buy it, because of either its size or its price. This is, after all, a UCS set, with enormous attention being paid to the instruction booklet and the internal packaging as well as the Lego design itself. For a small fraction of AFOLs, the high quality of the set will justify the eye-watering price, and they will probably adjust their purchases of other sets accordingly. The rest of us will be happy because TLG went to all the time and trouble of making such a remarkable set in the first place.

Last time I checked, TLG was still manufacturing a large variety of interesting Star Wars sets at much more reasonable prices (under a tenth of the cost of this one, for the most part). Not to mention an even larger variety of sets in other themes for similarly low prices. Stop being such a dog in the manger.

(Edit--I do sympathize with UK AFOLs, who are being asked to pay significantly more for this set in comparison with other UCS sets, although it could also be said that they got a better deal on the UCS MF than the rest of the world did. But the mysteries of TLG's world-wide pricing are different from how much a set is worth in and of itself. A set is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. That's as true for a microfighter set as it is for a UCS one. Personally, I think 75313 is worth the money in most parts of the world; I just don't choose to buy it myself. But then, my problem with it is at least as much the size as anything else. I'm not the target market for UCS models of *anything.* Which doesn't mean I think UCS sets shouldn't be made!)

The 2017 UCS Falcon was a hard enough sell for me at this price, and for me personally it had a solid 10 years of hype supporting it. And I went on to see that set discounted to as low as ... I think $880 (AUD). No chance in hell Im paying retail for this.

Peter Petigrew’s head in a Santa hat? I’m not getting any sets for 65756.

@Norikins:
Logistically, it’s easier to change colors than molds. That’s true for pre-colored pellets, but with inline coloring, it’s literally just a few button presses and waiting for a few shots to clear the previous color out of the system. Using a wide variety of shapes in small quantities is also more of a burden on the production schedule than using lots of a few shapes.

Only $800, that’s a steal! I’ll have my butler take the Lamborghini to the Lego store and purchase a dozen so I can recreate the entire Hoth battle in my walk in freezer.

That's another £750 I won't be spending. How on earth do LEGO come up with prices these days? Roll a dice? Or just add £100/£200 or more onto the last one? 42131 Bulldozer started at £450 I think, 10294 Titanic £570, now this at £750... what next? £900?

I'm wondering too. AFOLs often spend a lot on LEGO. But when looking at prices on BrickLink, there are very few sets that sell above 500 euros. Maybe some Cafe Corner or Green Grocer, but not much. So I wonder how many will actually be paying something like 900 quid.
Which I find surprising, seeing how much is being paid for certain Pokemon or baseball cards, Hotwheels or action figures.

You could have this, or FOUR modular buildings with money left over. This set can take a walk… PUN INTENDED

@Wrecknbuild:
$800 is the baseline price for this set. Those who really want it will make every attempt to do so for $800 or _less_, before it retires. When it does so, some latecomers may pay aftermarket prices to pick one up, but a lot of those sales probably go to people who didn’t find out about it before it retired.

Likewise, retired Modulars on the aftermarket mostly sell to people who just found out about the Modular line and started trying to back-collect the entire run. People who really wanted Cafe Corner probably picked it up for MSRP, rather than waiting this long to buy it for several times what it originally sold for.

And if you buy this for $800, you get $800 value right out of the box. If you wait to buy a different set for $800, you might only be getting $100 value with a $700 markup due to lack of fresh supply. So, you can’t judge how a new $800 set will sell by checking how old sets priced at $800 sell.

@jeloshot:
You can walk all over the glowing slag from four Modulars with this AT-AT...

When making a mostly monochrome set, less "slots" are burned for different element IDs. Each part in each color has a different ID. I expect the list at the end of the instruction manual will be shorter than usual based on the part count.
For example, two sets with similar part count, 75252 and 70620, have respectively 444 and 913 unique parts, not counting minifigures. Why should the one with 444 cost MORE THAN TWICE AS MUCH AS THE OTHER?
Also, in terms of new element recolors Ninjago City wins easily. The ISD's new or recently returning recolors you could count on one hand. The previous random piece of the day was the perfect candidate to recolor as the bottom of the ISD's balls (yes, I'm calling them that) yet Ninjago City has parts in colors that are still exclusive to it.

By in Austria,

When we compare prices, I tend to look at it from several perspectives, I hope the readers here do the similar analysis too, and always be careful not to get addicted into being a fanboy.

The analysis goes like this. I.e. how well the 700+ dollars, euros, pounds are worth: 1) comparing to other lego sets, 2) comparing to other toys, 3) comparing to other things in life.

There are people who could afford the money, sure, having it sitting in the bank does nothing. Everyone has their own interests, some could spend this on a fine dining for a few people, some could spend this on luxury hotel stays. Etc.

For me, spending this amount of money on: 1) above, will not be meaningful, since we have quite many lego sets already, 2) above, will give my kids probably 5x more fun because we could get 10 different big sets from other types of toys and to explore many different types of play, 3) above, will mean that we take a look outside of unnecessary spending, and use the money wisely in proper places, without getting affected by 'interest generation sites' such as this or youtube or the like, so yeah, as to the post above, I probably would go for 4 Michelin tires (or 8, depending on sizes), and still coming home with some spares. :)

I just received my AT-AT and on the left hand side (rear end image of the AT-AT) of the outer box it says TB-TT not AT-AT. Online images show AT-AT on that side. Does anyone know anything about this?
