Harry Potter Advent Calendar - Day 16
Posted by CapnRex101,
Numerous intriguing items are necessary when starting at Hogwarts and essentially everything is available from Diagon Alley, including wands and books which arrived yesterday.
Our shopping expedition may continue today...
Several additional accessories appear on day sixteen, including Hedwig, a chocolate frog, a decorated chocolate frog card and an exclusive Hogwarts Express ticket. These items seem rather disconnected from each other and I would rather they had accompanied larger models, or minifigures, throughout the Advent Calendar.
However, the selection of accessories is appealing. I received a new chocolate frog card today, featuring Seraphina Picquery, while Hedwig is always a satisfying addition to Harry Potter sets. Let us know which chocolate frog card you received in the comments.
The decorated Hogwarts Express ticket is undoubtedly the highlight though, featuring elaborate metallic gold and metallic silver designs behind the text! This achieves perfect accuracy when compared with the ticket shown onscreen, despite being printed on an absolutely tiny 1x2 tile.
Overall - 4.0 - Scoring these accessories is difficult because I dislike their distribution within the Advent Calendar, but love the decorated Hogwarts Express ticket!

The chocolate frog card that I got was Madame Olympe Maxime!
I got Jocunda Sykes
Was scared when I opened the door and saw it was another ‘accessory pack’. However it was instantly redeemed by the gorgeous Hogwarts Express Ticket, and it’s never a bad thing to get another frog card.
I got Rowena
This should have gone along with the day before, in my case I have Godric Gryffindors card.
The marvelous prints in this calendar continue to impress!
Agreed these all should have been included previously as accompaniment for figures but at least new elements made it feel satisfactory opening an accessory door like yesterday's (I did not have the wand case) again. The ticket is great!
I got Severus as the card.
I got another Dumbledore. I'm missing Slytherin and Ravenclaw.
Are all the chocolate frog cards already available in the other Harry Potter sets or are these all new?
I got Olympe Maxime. Love the ticket :)
I got the Silver Dumbledore which was new for me! The ticket is such a fun print.
I got Slytherin
For the calendar I’m actually building, I got Storyteller Kane. For the one I’m raising for parts, I got Tara Strong and the Cryptkeeper, but I don’t remember which one was for today. For my collection, I just bought a pile of the Hermione polybags with the assistance of saved images of all 16 from Bricklink. I didn’t have to care about who was who, as long as I could match each card to an image I hadn’t deleted yet. It took two days of shopping to complete the set.
As for the items, they all pertain to his first ride on the Hogwarts Express. That’s his first ticket, the chocolate frog that escaped out the window, the chocolate frog card he was left with (odds of receiving actual chocolate frog card from this scene are 1 in 16), and I think that’s the first time we see Hedwig.

Did you get the right one, or did you get Dumbledore II?
I got Newt, and have no duplicates so far. (Knock on wood) I enjoyed all the items, and the ticket is gorgeous, but I would have preferred to get this along with yesterday's items, or distributed throughout.
I got Nicholas Flamel - my first card.. wasn't going to collect them!
I got Jocunda Sykes and don't remember who she was at all X"D Stuck it right away into Gryffindor dormitory set
today and yesterday should be in one bag... it feels even worse when we get one tiny accessory pack after another :< today is a bit better with a printed ticked but still...
I’m confused. Have they already made these cards in a different set?
I’m seeing lots of comments here about what “chocolate frog cards” people receive in their ACs. I’m not a particular fan of Harry Potter; I’ve only seen the first few movies, years ago, once or twice each at most, and this don’t remember what a chocolate frog card is, but I gather that as far as LEGO is concerned, they’re decorated 2x2 tiles, and they actually have different random ones in individual copies of the same AC?! Wow. I must say I’m impressed.

Nearly the entire 2021 lineup has had these Chocolate Frog Cards. There are 16 of them, featuring the four House founders, various Hogwarts faculty and staff, and a few other notable characters who got mentioned in the series. They’re randomly packed, so all you know when you buy a set is how many of these tiles are included (I think the numbers range from 0-4, maybe 5). And the randomness leaves something to be desired, based on comments I’ve read. I think someone said they pulled four cards from the same set, and three of them were the same print.

No, I got Dumbledore II. :(
I need to find some Hermione's Study Desk polybags in person so I can look through the clear part of the bag to make sure I get Slytherin and Ravenclaw (or is it Hufflepuff I need? It's one of those 2. Hehe.)
My first Chocolate frog card ever was Jocunda Sykes . I had to look her up to see who it was.
To day was simple but fun with the first card and the ticket.
Yesterday i got the wand box that i had never seen before.
I also got Jocunda Sykes, and I also have no clue who she is despite being a huge HP fan (maybe a Fantastic Beasts character then?) Still nice to get another chocolate frog card though, I wasn't expecting that and I didn't have this one yet. The printed train ticket is also fantastic!
Still a bit disappointed that yesterday's book didn't have a print though. Clearly they already included a lot of new awesome unique prints in this calendar, but they could have just used an existing one and it would have improved things so much for a day without an actual significant build.
McGonagall
Dumbledore! I've go' 'bout 5 o'him!

Same here. Got several 2021 sets, and only once did I have more than one of a kind per set. My copy of Hogsmeade had four of the same.

The number of cards ranges from 1 in the polybag (30392) up to 6 in 'the big one' (76389) ; the number is usually based on the size/price of the set, with the GWP (40452) being the exception that proves the rule.
The biggest problem with the random distribution usually has to do with the larger sets. In them, the card tiles were spread over several bags, increasing the chance of duplicates within the same set. (I'd not yet heard of anyone getting two of the same card in the same bag)
McGonagall here. The ticket is absolutely stunning!
Gold Dumbledore! Absolutely delighted as I needed him. Only Godric to go.
Helga Hufflepuff, according to Bricklink.
I had no idea that there were different decorated tiles. This is one of mi fav advent calendars so far. Great work, Lego!
I got Godric. I was hoping for someone else since I don't have the figure. In other sets I got all Gilderoy Lockhart but I have Diagon Alley so it's perfect. Love the Chocolate Frog cards!
@Gustoffr2d2:
The point is, Dumbledore I is the card Harry got on the Hogwarts Express during his first trip to Hogwarts.
@Alatariel:
She was a Quidditch player who was the first person to fly over the Atlantic on a broomstick. I have no idea if she’s even mentioned in the books, but I certainly don’t remember her from the movies.
