Star Wars Advent Calendar - Day 13

Posted by ,

75307 Star Wars Advent Calendar has contained surprisingly few minifigures so far, clearly falling behind the other 2021 LEGO Advent Calendars in that respect.

Another minifigure would therefore be great...

Various common characters have undergone considerable changes recently and the Imperial Scout Trooper exemplifies this trend. The helmet now features dual-moulding which enables greater detail and accuracy than ever, including intricate vents across this whole component. The printed highlights look splendid too, achieving complete fidelity to the source material.

Furthermore, the character's light armour looks perfect. I love the intricate straps and armour designs, contrasting with the black body glove underneath. This minifigure has only appeared twice before, so another opportunity to expand our Imperial forces is certainly welcome. 75307 Star Wars Advent Calendar has impressed so far, with regard to army-building.

Removing the helmet reveals a common head underneath, but the variation between Imperial personnel is great. Unfortunately, no blaster is present, matching other minifigures from this calendar which have also lacked their weapons. That remains frustrating because previous Advent Calendars have included weapons with each minifigure.

Overall - 4.5 - Imperial Scout Troopers are highly desirable and I would be awarding full marks, had the weapon been included.

I was very happy to see this guy today - my first Scout Trooper!

My favorite of all the troopers! Might have to steal this from my son once the season's over...

Jason Sudeikis now counted in actor minifig portrayals?

We STILL haven't gotten the weapon for the stormie 10 days ago, hopefully we get a rack with his and the scout's soon. (Also, hoping for that speeder on the box soon!)

How about the e-web cannon? That's the one my Stormtrooper is wielding

I would prefer that each minifigure included is exclusive, but I still really like this minifigure!

Perhaps the weapons didn’t match the Christmas theme...

Bluntly, if the Avengers figures come with their accessories, as they all have, so should these licensed figures. They've all had at least 3 pieces to their accessories as well, a single blaster wouldn't even equal what they're getting as standard.

It's a nice figure, but come on now. Give us the accessories with the figures, or just don't give us them and waste days in the process.

Where is your weapon, trooper? This will have serious disciplinary consequences.

I absolutely love this new design for the Scout Trooper helmet. It looks fantastic though the gray print on the mouth section seems to be frequently off center or just too thick and devoid of details. That's the main downside.

Whether or not you get weapon racks depends on who’s tasked with designing the calendar. The last couple years someone who dislikes them was the designer, so he made a point of excluding them. Other designers may lean on them to pad out the calendar, or simply feel they’re as worthwhile an inclusion as the mini vehicles. They’re clearly wrong, but good luck getting them to quit.

Perfect example of how to use the dual-molding process well…creating depth and detail but also maintaining reasonable proportions and functionality. Hopefully we’ll someday see an iteration of the standard stormtrooper having the same approach.

My first ever scout trooper and I must say the design is exquisite. Dare I say it but this is a work of art in my opinion.

I love the new helmet! This is the first time in a long time that I can think of that a new helmet mould was unambiguously better than the one it replaced.

Isn't this actually a reused Kashykk Clone Trooper helmet?

What is not to like about a Scout Trooper? :-)
