76944 $100 AUD for a 140 piece set. Big dino or not that's screwed up.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Well, $50 for a T-Rex and a parts pack in a 4+ set ain't bad.

Indeed, I have no idea why they sell at all. Allright, rich parents.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Yeah, won't be buying any of these on purpose or by mistake!

The math makes no sense. That’s still $40 more than the exchange rate. Definitely trying to gouge people in Australia.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Disappointed to see the Atrociraptors are a one-mold piece, although it looks good for that standard. I don't mind this for smaller dinos but the Atrocis look about JP Velociraptor size. I hope they produce an Atriciraptor head that fits a standard raptor body in the future.

The Quetz set looks good and the Atroci set OK, will probably bricklink the orange Atroci and new baby raptor.

Gravatar
By in Singapore,

Red crabs seem to be everywhere for the first 2022 wave, after a very gradual return in 2018 after 17 years. I love some of those dino colors, though.

Gravatar
By in Brazil,

Every time I see "new" Jurassic World sets I feel like I'm seeing the same stuff from all previous waves. And with even more ridiculous prices.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I knew it would only be a matter of time before Gar Saxon's head was re-used for someone else.

Gravatar
By in United States,

"We've spared no expense!"

Gravatar
By in United States,

The new minifigure parts seem fairly universal this time around, which is nice. Unfortunately the head on that Rainn Delacourt guy has that snake tattoo, limiting its use elsewhere. Overall, for people looking for real-world figure parts, these sets have a lot going for them with new torso and leg prints

Gravatar
By in Philippines,

These sets are an easy pass for me, unless of course if I could get them during clearance.

As with most Jurassic World sets, the trend of mediocre builds continues.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

That's a lot of Owen.

Gravatar
By in United States,

These aren't my cut of tea, but I will say the baby dinosaurs in the Duplo set are just about the cutest freaking thing ever.

“And at these prices neither will you!”

Gravatar
By in United States,

Really like the Quetzelcoatlus. The rest, including the plane that takes up most of that set, resoundingly eh... bunch of T.rexes, raptors, and slightly smaller raptors with zero articulation in weird colors in overly expensive sets

Gravatar
By in United States,

76947 Quetzalcoatlus Plane Ambush is the only interesting one, and it's not because of builds. I don't think a dinosaur would even approach it, based on size, speed, and sound.

Gravatar
By in United States,

beyond disappointed. The first three revealed were so good, and I'm just not happy with these. The 4+ sets lack anything, especially the T-rex one, and the pteranadon set just look like some friends 4+ set, too generic. Bike chase looks like random parts thrown together. The plane feels too shoet, though I may still pick it up. The large T-Rex one is terrible for $80, the building is so flat and doesn't add a lot, but I will say the truck isn't bad. I don't like the two-piece dino molds that much either.

I will admit the US prices aren't bad, can't speak for other countries

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I really hope they include Owen more in future sets, severely underrepresented.

Dino's look good, builds not so much, though I like the vehicles. Except the plane, looks like a mess?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Owen is everywhere, Owen is everything. All hail the Owen.

How many sets have come out with Owen in it, anyway? :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Interesting. The big T.rex set seems like one I'll pick up. Honestly the thing that was most exciting is the fact that Blue's daughter/son is named Beta.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I don’t care for - and have never liked - the way the T-Rex’s neck is articulated. The neck stops abruptly as if the head had been severed, then there’s the joint followed by the rounded back of the head that doesn’t marry at all with the body. Looks awful!

I might consider some of the other sets if I can get them at Argos/Sainsbury’s.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Hermione and Ginny are in Jurassic World now? jk

Some nice fig parts in these sets

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I like the Duplo dinos. Other than that, easy pass which is good as my wanted list is way too long already!

Gravatar
By in Malaysia,

Really like the Quetz & spring green Rexy. Why no Mosasaurus though..

Gravatar
By in United States,

No Dr. Grant? Sure see lots of Owen.

Gravatar
By in Mexico,

Hi guys and girls, I have a question. Do the Duplo dinosaurs fit in regular Lego blocks?

Thanks in advance!!!

Gravatar
By in Hungary,

Ok, so Allen Grant's figure will be in the Giganotosaurus set.

A bunch, and if it were Owen Wilson I’d be down with that. Wow

Gravatar
By in United States,

The Quetzelcoatlus set is probably my favorite out of these. $40 USD isn't too shabby for a decent plane build and a new large dino. That said, a lot of these just seem kind of "meh" to me--meaningless builds with reissued dinosaurs. But kids who don't have any of the previous Jurassic sets will probably love them!

(I do love the color scheme of the t-rex in the 4+ set though.)

Gravatar
By in Finland,

What's with all the weapons? I thought Lego was against military stuff. Well, except Star Wars and such.

Gravatar
By in Singapore,

These sets make an okay Jurassic world wave, not overly terrible prices but the premium we have come to expect. People in Australia are getting terribly ripped off though, our prices are similar to theirs so we might get ripped off too :(

Gravatar
By in United States,

@trelic said:

All of the tranquilizer darts? Which part of these are military?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Now I know why they announced 76956 ahead of these. All of these sets are completely underwhelming to me. Plus, I'm a bit sick of Owen minifigs.

Gravatar
By in United States,

When I saw the trailer and the Plane in it, was really hoping we'd get a set like that as the plane looked sweet. But I am disappointed in how it turned out here :(

Gravatar
By in United States,

My son says, "Flying reptiles, dad, flying reptiles . . . ." He's going to be excited about Quetzalcoatlus. And for that matter, so am I!

Not the darts. The weapons that shoots them ;)

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Kind of odd that Alan Grant isn't included in any of these sets.

Gravatar
By in Norway,

There's a «cockfight» in one of these sets... That's a horrible thing to include.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@J0rgen said:

Don't worry, none of the CGI gets hurt.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Where's my stegosaurus?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm impressed the plane seats three, even if they're a tight fit. Usually aircraft with these City fronts only seat one, sacrificing efficient use of space for sturdiness. It's unintentionally perfect for Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt to gaze dreamily into each other's eyes.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I like the aeroplane, but it looks like a bit of an empty tub for 45 quid.

Dart guns, made for firing tranquilizer darts. Not often employed by the military. And still, the wrench is more of a weapon than that.

I bet there's still one that hasn't been shown, probably having to do with the Giganotosaurus teased at the end of the trailer.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Owen will just join the Lego Clone Club along with Batman, Spider-Man, Harry Potter, and the alluringly-voiced Emmet Brickowski.

Gravatar
By in Puerto Rico,

Nice, I want them all.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Yet again my hope for a LEGO Brachiosaurus has been dashed :(

The *steakosaurus*? Eaten with some oversized eggs, I’m afraid :~P

would be amazing. But you just know Lego would put a small jeep and two or three figures in the set with a Brachiosaurus and sell it for €140 RRP

Gravatar
By in Austria,

blonde hair that isn't the awful bright yellow? I can't believe my eyes, did Lego listen to feedback or is this character a different type of blonde than all the other characters from the last 10 years?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I think it's funny how Blue's color changes every year. First she was green, then sand green, then blue, and now gray

Gravatar
By in United States,

@lynels:
No, this lineup has a Mint Chocolate T-Rex, and a Stork-Billed Platy-soar-us.

@R1_Drift:
A dinosaur wouldn’t be able to approach it because they can’t fly. A pterosaur probably still couldn’t approach it from behind because they likely wouldn’t be able to fly as fast. Helicopters they could go after, but it wouldn’t end well for anyone if they attacked from above.

@Cooliocdawg:
Why would Owen Wilson care about Owen Grady (played by Chris Pratt) being in so many sets? Is there an All Owens Club like the All Daves Club on LUGNET?

@trelic:
The syringes mounted on the barrels indicate that they’re just tranq guns. Mind you, getting tagged by a tranq dart that’s powerful enough to drop a ravenous T-Rex in its tracks isn’t likely to end well for a human, but the T-Rex will survive to escape and go hunting for another batch of People McNuggets.

@fakespacesquid:
Maybe it’s the I-guess-that’s-supposed-to-be-a-road-flare, or the old-timey revolver.

@wildkarrde5:
Ah, you must mean movie trailer, and not something like 660.

Gravatar
By in United States,

are we collecting trucks or dinosaurs?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I will never be able to look past these prices, truly unbelievable

Gravatar
By in United States,

@mkrey said:

I was hoping from the trailer that we might get a Parasaurolophus mold. But yes, Stegosaurus is a MUST. Hopefully LEGO continues with the Jurassic Park license after the movie is over. Would also love to see Spinosaurus, compys, the mosasaurus, and a brachiosaurus

"Hi guys and girls, I have a question. Do the Duplo dinosaurs fit in regular Lego blocks?

Hi Rene, All Lego 'systems' are compatible. There is a ratio 2:1 between Duplo and System. I.e. if a Duplo dino has a footprint of 2x2 duplo studs, it translates to a footprint of 4x4 system studs. So those two baby dinos sit on a 4x4 system plate each and the bird sits on a 2x2 system plate - you can also extrapolate that the bird is 7 or 8 system studs wide.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Interesting how they feature atrociraptors and pyroraptors but they do not talk about bambiraptor. I suppose they do not induce fear as the other two!

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Ephseb:
You mean primary yellow like the Yellow Castle? Off the top of my head, excluding Simpsons one-piece heads, only the Mutt Williams hair and the S1 Skater hair have ever been made in that color (and both of those were for DC Superheroes characters). Most blonde hair has been tan or bright-light-yellow, since they don’t make standard yellow minifigs look like Simpsons characters.

@chuckschwa:
She’s getting older. Stop age-shaming her!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I question the manufacturer of that plane if the "engines are designed to break off under attack!"

Gravatar
By in Spain,

Licensed IP driving the price up! - AGAIN

5887 now that was a proper Dinosaur set. Big piece count, lots of Dinos / figs and great vfm…… sigh…. The old days!

Thank you so much HOBBES, you are very kind.

Time for me to buy those Duplo dinosaurs!!! They will look great in "regular Lego" mocs.

I mean, the first three are Duplo and Juniors so yes, they should be simplistic. I don't think the bike chase is too simplistic, seems like a perfectly adequate $20, but potato potato

Gravatar
By in Poland,

Thanks Lego I hate this bigger ONE PIECE + jaw dinos.
Seriously why cheaping now?
Baby Blue is fine for its size, but rest should have AT LEAST movable head AND painted talons

Gravatar
By in United States,

@HOBBES:
I believe bambiraptor is afraid of humans.

@DragonLord56:
Maybe it’s inspired by those lizards that shed their tails when attacked.

@Slave2lego:
Yeah, I think I made about 25% less back then, too.

@ICAbricks:
Looks like Isabella Sermon is going to be 16 in a few months, and it’s been four years since JW2, so she’s probably grown a bit taller than she was in the last movie. It’s been a few years since I was in high school, but I’m pretty sure most kids hit their final growth spurt by then.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Why those AUD Prices? No wonder I see lots of Jurassic World sets swarming the shelves down here.

And isn’t it odd that we don’t have an Alan Grant minifigure as part of this wave yet?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Why are the dinosaur colours so whacky? They look like cheap knockoffs.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The theme/franchise doesn't interest me at all, but I REALLY want one of those fish sign tiles from 76943 for a Ninjago City market stall or shop! A shame that I guess it will be considered licensed, so not on Bricks & Pieces.

There have been a handful of times where non-license-oriented prints that originated in licensed sets have made it to B&P, so there's a bit of hope!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Wow. The prices on some of those are astounding, and not in a good way.

I would be interested, academically, in just how many Owen Grady minifigures we've all picked up, along the way. I assume some fans are ankle deep in the darn things.

Like a lot of people, the only set that interests me is the plane ambush, and that's only because of the Quetzalcoatlus. I imagine they'll be clearanced out cheaply, at some point, which is when I will pounce.

Beyond that, the rest of these are a hard pass. Even the dinosaur figures aren't that interesting. I'm also still hoping for a Stegosaurus, one of these days.

Gravatar
By in United States,

That pick up in 76946 is exactly line the one in 60182. Guess the new movie is set in Middle America. Wonder how the dinos got past customs?
Facebook was right; there is a problem in America with illegal dinosaur prostitution rings and egg trafficking

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Holy hell these are some crap sets.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I think this is the best wave for Jurassic World ever. I want every one of these sets.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

The Aus price on that zombie T. rex is beyond outrageous and thoroughly into hilarious territory. I mean that has to be a mistake or a joke, right? They're not sincerely expecting to sell that for $100 are they?

Gravatar
By in United States,

At least the plane is somewhat interesting, however it’s disappointing LEGO continual trends to further simplification. The Indiana Jones DC-3 is phenomenal. Retractable gear even!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Insane how expensive these sets are, not to mention the disappointing further simplification. The trend continues from Star Wars; Is anyone else kinda wondering if this is just Disney bilking its fans?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm actually thinking about turning the cab from set 76948 into the truck from Steven Spielberg's film "Duel" (it just needs a tanker truck trailer for it, a color swap to brown, and a few other things.) Also, set 76947 would do well in an Adventurers setting, with some modifications.... it even has WWII style nose-art as it appears to be called the "Midnight Oiler".

I see major potential with these for MOC's / MOD's!

Gravatar
By in United States,

76943 Pteranodon Chase - I adore dark blue animals in these dino sets, so that ptera is really cool!

76944 T. Rex Dinosaur Breakout - New color of T. Rex is always cool, but not super interesting otherwise.

76945 Atrociraptor Dinosaur: Bike Chase - Personally speaking, I absolutely hated Fallen Kingdom, and my main gripe with it was that the trailers had spoiled every single scene of the film. This time around I'm avoiding any and all trailers for Dominion so that it'll actually have some sort of surprise for me. Thanks to that, I haven't seen anything from the film yet, and this Atrociraptor... is... awesome! It's got that cool albino color scheme like the Indominius without feeling completely over the top since it's a real thing.

76946 Blue & Beta Velociraptor Capture - The original Blue figure looked really cool, but was super inaccurate. The second Blue figure looked really dumb, and was super inaccurate. This one look cool AND spot on for the film design! Took ya half a decade LEGO but you finally pulled it off!

76947 Quetzalcoatlus Plane Ambush - In ARK Survival Evolved the Quetz was without a doubt my favorite mount, and in real life it's the largest known Pterosaur, so getting a LEGO toy of it is awesome! and good looking one too to boot. I usually don't buy LEGO JP/W sets 'cause of their high price tags, but this one might finally break me.

76948 T. rex & Atrociraptor Dinosaur Breakout - A pretty expensive set, but the color schemes of both of the dinos are quite lovely, and they compliment the tan surroundings well. Even outside JW that building or dinos could be reused in all kinds of displays.

10938 DUPLO Dinosaur Nursery - I'm like 90% sure LEGO has done this before, but I've got to say it again. Why make a toy for 4 year old's based on a horror franchise? The original JP was nerve racking and it's sequels have been more or less spooky in their own right, no toddler could possibly sit through watching that many people get ripped in half. If you want to make a dino set for young-ins why not base it on a young-in dino franchise, like Land Before Time! (Well, the first LBT was also pretty dark, but nowhere near any of the JPs!)

Gravatar
By in United States,

"Atrociraptor"... a raptor that's atrocious?

Gravatar
By in United States,

i am downright distraught that they didn't introduce a parasaurolophus. bored of these recycled dinos!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I liked it better when LEGO had their Dinos theme, not JW or JP but at least the dinos were not 'licensed'

Gravatar
By in Turkey,

Looks like those side builds are just there to increase the cost. None of them builds to anything...

Gravatar
By in Australia,

A classic example of ANZAC (Australia New Zealand Auxiliary Cost). Just compare the AU prices to literally everywhere else. Ridiculous. $79.99 for a small to medium sized flying dinosaur and a small plane? What a rip off! That plane would normally cost roughly $39.99 so that means that stupid dinosaur literally costs us $30! (and yes, I know it's not technically a dinosaur)

Gravatar
By in United States,

@bricksintheattic:
Even licensed pieces can pop up in B&P for a little while, plus you probably won’t need more than a few, so Bricklink is another possibility if that falls through. This doesn’t feel licensed, though. It’s just a picture of the standard LEGO fish on a plank of wood. Callie Carp, if you will. Try not to walk close enough to trip the motion sensor...

@Zordboy:
Well, I know I got one in the Dimensions pack. Then I got four more sets, plus eight copies of another set, so...one. I have one.

@Jotahesse1:
I believe they were smuggled, but then stupid people were stupid and set them free rather than making sure they were wiped out.

@AirandSpace:
Yeah, but the IJ German fighter plane had some serious design compromises so you could make the wings blow off.

@StorzN:
Nope, because City isn’t licensed and is reportedly just as bad, but these have tons of expensive dinosaur parts, and also because JP/JW is Universal. I mean, I get that it’s easy to blame Disney for a lot of things (I’m pretty ticked that they’re dumping a third Pixar film to D-), but they really aren’t involved with this theme.

@GSR_MataNui:
I hated JW2 because I watched it. Never mind the trailers, it was a bad movie and added new protagonists who I was actually hoping would get eaten, or left on the dock when the lava flow arrived, or something. Anything. Stepped on, hit by a car, crushed by an anvil tied to a grand piano...

Gravatar
By in United States,

Ew. These look about as awful as a laser guided raptor....

Why is the "Atrociraptor" (dear god. ugh) one piece? At least Blue still has moveable limbs.

All very unimpressive. At least the Trex Breakout vignette looks good (I'm really just getting it for the JP Explorers to add my massive Trex to them).

For the record, that is an actual animal. From Canada, for the record.

Little kids often like dinosaurs. The set’s connection to the Jurassic franchise is a moot point - parents would buy it for little children due to the dinosaurs in the set, not because of a movie which they likely haven’t seen.

The math makes no sense. That’s still $40 more than the exchange rate. Definitely trying to gouge people in Australia."

We normally sit around the same price as CAD, the Aussie prices on these are completely out of whack with any type of reality.

100%, no toddler has enough attention span to get to the scene where a dude gets ripped in half, all they see are the cool Dinos. While the original is definitely staged like a slasher, the sequels lose all horror aspects outside of jump scares

Seems absurd. Clerical error or miscommunication? Hard to imagine it actually costing 100 dollars unless yall have some crazy import tarrifs going on right now or something...

"The Quetzelcoatlus set is probably my favorite out of these. $40 USD isn't too shabby for a decent plane build and a new large dino. That said, a lot of these just seem kind of "meh" to me--meaningless builds with reissued dinosaurs. But kids who don't have any of the previous Jurassic sets will probably love them!

(I do love the color scheme of the t-rex in the 4+ set though.)"

I’m very curious to see what the scale of Quetzy ends up being. If he isn’t spectacularly tall compared to a minifigure I’ll be just a wee bit disappointed. That sucker was HUGE. Just Google search “quetzalcoatlus” and look at the images you find…thing was tall as a giraffe and very stocky.

(Finally looked at the box art and the extra images…OMG this is day one for me!!! One of my favorite Dinos all-time.)

The T-rex looks like he's jumping up and down on a tightrope.

Awful lot of Breakouts in these sets, is there a reason why LEGO can't come up with something a little less identical in their set naming conventions?

All I know is my VIP points are going to some awesome LEGO JW sets this year. Now if I can just nab the last of the 2020 & 2021 sets before summer.

We know LEGO has a Stegosaurus mold, I wonder why they haven't re-introduced it here yet, or are they saving it for a Legacy/Anniversary Lost World Ian Malcolm set?

I like how the vehicle design is mostly getting better with this wave.
But bike chase really shows how all the sets were reduced to the bare minimum. the fight pit doesn't even include all four fence pieces that would make it complete!

Always gouge Aussie market. Seems to be built into their business plan as well as making us wait longer than most for sets
