Marvel Advent Calendar - Day 5
Posted by CapnRex101,
The equipment rack which appeared yesterday was disappointing, so day five should introduce something much better. The bundle of dynamite could be a clue.
Let's open the door and see...
Rocket Raccoon is invariably associated with explosives, so yesterday's dynamite gave a good indication of today’s minifigure. Similar to Star-Lord, this version of the character returns from 76193 The Guardians' Ship, sporting his attire from Avengers: Endgame. Depending on the lighting in each scene, dark blue might have been a more accurate colour, but this design looks nice as well.
Rocket's head also captures impressive detail, improving upon the earlier element that included built-in shoulder armour. The goggles printed on his forehead are excellent, in particular. Also, I like the moulded texture on this reddish brown tail component, attached between the torso and legs.
Overall - Rocket is a necessary addition to the Advent Calendar and this minifigure is great.

Yesterday's model should have been something along the lines of an E-Web.
This advent calendar is all about the figs and this one is great, especially for those who haven't already gotten the Guardians' Ship.
I love the torso design. Hopefully I can come up with a good character to use it on, at some point. A futuristic aviator, perhaps?
Oof, I got a second bag of Day 2.
Is there a reason why they changed the Rocket minifigures from having grey fur to brown? I... guess the brown must be more movie-accurate - the lighting sometimes makes it hard to tell - but if so it's odd that change wasn't made until seven years after his minifigure debut.
This great minifig is still not an excuse of what happened yesterday!
i have been waiting for the next fig. Awesome!
It's good, I guess. I don't know. My head is still killing me from tool-rack hangover!! :(

At least it wasn't a second bag of day 4!
Bold move of them to include a minifig of the human-raptor hybrids from the original Jurassic Park 4 script. But it's not very good. It looks more like a very fury rabbit to me.
This Jurassic World calander is wild. But I suppose weird beardless santa Owen Grady with side-reindeer shoes was a way to warn us.
3/10
Not only does he come with empty hands, but they printed his scarf instead of giving him a scarf element? Even though it would require tweaking the neck to fit inside, it still seems cheap.
@TheOtherMike:
Give it time. He got tools, so clearly he’s meant to build something. Although that does basically set a record at stretching out one minifig over three days.
@ThatBionicleGuy:
Contrast? One of the earlier Rockets had a dark-red outfit, which stands out better against dark-bley than reddish-brown. This one has a dark-bley outfit, which would make him look naked. Real raccoons have a main coat that’s a mix of grey, brown, and black. MCU Rocket, being based on the late Oreo, a real raccoon, has a coat color that’s similarly hard to pin down.
Had to pull out a black pistol (from the Space Police Minifigure) from extra parts so Rocket wasn’t so empty handed. My son loves it either way.

Last year I ended up getting a second bag for the tusken raider's canon in 75307! Now i know it isn't just me!
My son got the bag with the stereo so I opened the box to check, no Rocket in it anywhere and there are two days with the turkey. I guess I'll be making another call to customer support....
