Harry Potter Advent Calendar - Day 23
Posted by CapnRex101,Yesterday's tiny model of Gringotts Wizarding Bank, with the Ukrainian Ironbelly on top, was certainly a fun addition to the Advent Calendar, having never appeared in LEGO before.
Hopefully today's item achieves similar quality...
I think the Hogwarts Express is the perfect microscale model to complete this Advent Calendar, assuming a minifigure arrives tomorrow. The train represents Harry's first exposure to Hogwarts and appears during the final scene of The Deathly Hallows Part II. Furthermore and obviously far more importantly, this model is delightful!
While the size difference between the leading and driving wheels is exaggerated, the Hogwarts Express features remarkable detail at this scale, even including a connecting rod. The attractive colours are accurate too, with a golden highlight on the funnel. Also, I like the simple archways of Kings Cross Station as a backdrop.
Overall - Assuming this is our final microscale scene, LEGO has arguably kept the best for last!

I hadn't realized how large the smoke stack would be. Gah. 4/5, it's fantastic, but that gold piece is overkill.
Whomping Willow was the very best, but this is great too! More desirable than the D2C.
I've really enjoyed this year's calendars, lots of highlights from the microscale models including Whomping Willows, the Dementors, this, Gringotts and the Knight Bus
Not compatible with other Lego trains. Just as flawed as the big one ;-)

More affordable, though
A perfect microscale build!
@WizardOfOss:
Compatible with the 2019 version, and the track from 21330.
This is adorable! I love micro-scale Lego trains.
That's a fantastic micro-scale train. Some of these micro-builds have been total question marks, but this was isntantly recognizable with tons of detail.
The designs this year are hitting it out of the park. Well done!
Happy Festivus for the rest of us!
Good fun this, but six spare parts here – or did we build it wrong...?

6 extra parts! It's a Festivus Miracle!!!
Nope, you did it correctly.
Pretty good. One set of wheels having a stud whilst another is studless bothers me though.
I only bought one LEGO Advent Calendar this year.
I'm happy to have chosen this one.
HP ACs rarely disappoint.
Nice ending for the microbuilds. This was definitely the anti-GotG AC this year.
