I hope it comes with Santa's Little Helper and Snowball! I love them! SLH will probably be a new mold, but snowball will be the somewhat-new mold in black.

2500 pieces, and licensed. That's not to going to be cheap. Still, imagine how much fun it would be to have that next door to my Monster Fighter Haunted House.

Nice model, although the exterior walls feel a bit boring in places. I'm sure the interior is designed to make up for that.

I respect the decision to use molded heads, but I still feel like they could have stood to have less detail. The way the eyes bulge out is accurate to the cartoon in some respects, but it feels downright weird in three dimensions rather than as a two-dimensional drawing. I'd have preferred if the overall shape of the head were molded but the eyes were just printed on a smooth curve. Or even if the bulge had been slightly less pronounced like the molded eyes of the Toy Story figures.

Not a Simpsons fan so I have no interest in getting this set personally, but it seems to do a good job showcasing the characters without reducing the emphasis on the actual model. Also, there are some nice things here that I hope carry over to future sets. Homer and Bart have short sleeves — something we've never gotten on classic minifigures before, and that probably weren't possible with the printing techniques that were used to do arm printing in the past.

The size of the house itself is also impressive — it's larger even than the Creator houses, with more than enough space for multiple rooms in both the upstairs and downstairs. The model is hinged like the Haunted House, preserving the complete appearance from all sides rather than having an open side like LEGO City and Friends houses, or having the interior completely boxed in so you only get a top-down view like the Modular Buildings or Creator houses. The colors are fairly dull but they really do evoke the look of the source material. Hopefully they feel just as accurate on a shelf as in front of a bright cartoon backdrop.

Overall, looks like the designers did a nice job. I only hope all that effort will be appreciated by buyers who might be put off by what will probably be a hefty price tag.

I'm really not a fan of this set. I think it looks like a competitors cheap knock off of a Lego set. However if it's what the fans have been waiting for and it meets their expectations, great!

Edit: With the release of the Lego Simpsons CMF's (I heard this was A Thing), this set actually confuses me. There's basically every figure you could need for this set, in particular the main characters. As the main characters of the Simpsons tend to wear the same clothing throughout the episodes, are we going to be seeing any variations in the CMF's or the same figures? I definitely think that would disappoint a lot of fans.

If I look at those mini figures any longer I'm gonna be sick :(

Not sure about the minifigures, but the house is awesome. Lots of little details that are shown in the episodes like the inanimate carbon rod, or it could be a nuclear fuel rod. Maggie also has a drill. Remember that episode :D

Here, homer wears his nuclear plant outfit with lazy eyes. In the cmf, he'll have his normal, plain white shirt with normal eyes.

Here, marge has her famous eyeball roll eyes with apron. In the cmf, she'll have her lime green dress with normal eyes.

@UtarEmpire TLG is stepping up the D2Cs next year. Looks like we'll get one every month or so! So, I'm sure we'll see some type of X-Mansion D2C in July. We're getting this in April, Sandcrawler in May, the Sea Cow in March, Parisian and Mars Rover in January, ect.

I have never seen a full episode of this show. Can't seem to appriciate the humor of the series.
I definitly can not appriciate this set. The minifigs are horrible. Completely not LEGO-like.
The house is boring and dull from the outside. It is a real shame and a bit hopefull at the sametime, that this is the first 'complete' playable house (as far as I know of).
I have always been a bit dissapointed with part-of-a-building star wars, city and LotR sets. So lets hope we will be seeing more fully build sets.

This is the best set ever! Great minifigs, especially homer! I love the new wheel barrel color, just wish I could see what it said. The car is great, it can probably fit the whole family, as it's 6-wide. It's really realistic! The house looks great, and I love how it can open from the side AND the top. I just wonder about the interior. I want to see the living room, tv room, and bathroom above the garage.

Oh my god,it's finally here. I've been dreaming of this since early 90s,I absoloutely adore the Simpsons. One of the funniest,clever show in history. I've been going through Seasons for past 2 years and I'm on 12 at the moment. I think they could have improved Bart and Lisa figures. Maybe they could have had a skirt for Lisa like they did with Ventrice mini figure and lady from Lone Ranger. Day one purchase for me also,yes,yes...yes :D!

I'm not too sure the 2523 piece count is accurate, it might be preliminary box art for the New York Toy Fair (which is soon). I don't see that many pieces in the set, NYTF boxes sometimes have inaccurate piece counts and The Simpsons logo does not look finalized. The fact that we only have a picture of the box and not the actual set also adds to this theory in my opinion.

I think that since this is a d2c set, it's not being revealed at the toy fair, but at brick fair, al on January 11th. I think it is accurate, but that's my opinion.

Also, I just realized, we finally have a BETTER set than a friends building!

Sorry, but "realistic" aside, I disagree with every line of this article/pre-review. I do look forward to seeing the interior because I'm sure that it'll have some great innovation, if the designers used up their imagination there before they got to the barbeque, but the exterior is only fine, and something that is going to cost this much should be more interesting to look at. I'm not a big fan of the show, but the color that they chose for the house is jarringly inaccurate, even for me. I know that they don't have a color exactly that shade, but I think medium nougat would have looked better and been a bit less plain.

The Simpsons just were not made to be toys, which is great because in today's world of animation everything is designed to sell toys first and entertain second, but these just do not work for me.

I hope that printed short legs and arms with sleeves make their way into other themes, because the way that this year is shaping up, The Simpsons is just too easy of a pass to make.

I do want to say that though Maggie doesn't look too bad in these images. I can't say the same for the rest of the characters though....

I'll say this now: I love the house and just need the price before I decide to buy it. I am so evicting The Simpsons from their own house though (even though I do like watching the show occasionally)! Plus the car... what were they thinking of when they designed that atrocity? Too skinny if you ask me.

With another 40 sets on my want list, this year is going to really sting my wallet, my bank account, well, my everything! Gah, I promised myself to be careful with my money this year as I prepare to go out and find a job later this year!

But I am so glad this isn't a shoddy licensed remake of Olivia's House *shudders at the thought*...

All I see is a bland house, a car that looks like it belongs in a Town set from the early 90s, some minifigure designs that came straight out of the Spongebob theme, and a hefty piece count that will no doubt be followed by an even heftier pricetag. I don't like the (2012-modern) Simpsons, and it's just another show being milked to death long after it stopped being funny. I'm also dissapointed Lego back-tracked on their policy about not taking themes like this. I'll play with the big-boy Lego, like the Tower of Orthanc... from the adult-oriented Lego theme that everyone cried for at one point.

I think we'll need better interior pics to judge this one fully myself, it does look pretty dull on the outside, which is probably why we've never had such a fully realistic Lego house before!

I'm totally with @GreenNinjaCP from waaaay back in the thread - what is everyone's problem with the minifigures? Ah... wait... I'm sensing some monumental de-ja-vu....
...Hang on, aren't we forgetting to discuss whether the morality of the show is suitable for TLG's portfolio? :P

It is accurate. A search for "the simpsons house" on google images will show that it IS, in fact, accurate. Yeah, some older ones are pinkish-yellow, but the real color of it is tan, at least the modern one is.

To everybody saying that it looks horrible, it's accurate! What do you want them to do, make it blue!?!? My stomach is in knots, all this criticism! The picture is a little blurry/fuzzy, but when you see it officially, it looks great!

I think the look of the house could be a bit better, but this is likely the flagship set of the theme and it includes all figures. I am a big fan of The Simpsons, still watch it every Sunday, so this is a must have for myself.

It seems this theme still doesn't get any love, however. Personally I couldn't stand Bionicle, think the Hero Factory sets are horrible, and haven't spent a cent on the Star Wars theme for years.

To each their own of course, but I think the naysayers will be doing a turnaround when these sets sell. I applaud TLG for trying something new. Isn't that what fans want to see?

Gotta say I'm disappointed it's such a huge set. 2500 pieces for a set from a licensed theme puts it way out of my budget. I can only hope all the characters show up in the regularly-priced sets.

Lisa looks a little blocky, but overall this set is nice and instantly recognizable.

from what I can see this set looks disappointing, since the house doesn't have an impressive exterior and the minifigures look god awful, but the interior should be interesting, and if anything it will be a nice beige parts pack.

@popo123:The only yellow ones I see on Google images are not from the show, but replicas.

I know it's accurate, and that's why it doesn't make a good set. If this was a 1000 pieces less, it might, but at this size, the interior couldn't save it for me, no matter how amazing.

LEGO needs more houses, but there are so many other ways they could have gone with better results in a set even half this size if it wasn't based on The Simpsons.

My guess is no more than $200. Diagon Alley had more figures, a similar piece count and was licensed and was still only $150.

A very nice house never watched simpsons before but I think I will still buy it as long as its not TO much money.

Going to be picky right away; it looks like the 2nd floor portion containing Bart's room and the bathroom is missing...

It seems that I'll have to go again to USA on my vacation this year just to get this beauty! (And for sure will pack my luggage with lots of other sets... ;))

The house looks very nice from the outside, but it'll be at least $200. It's a little weird that they advertised the dog and cat in the box-art but that they are not actually included in the set. Collectible Minifigs? (I hope not!)

This looks like hoax. Well executed and convincing... but a hoax nonetheless.

Look at the image on Eurobricks. The picture doesn't show a box, but a flat piece of printed cardboard on a surface (the bottom of the "box" isn't even cut evenly!)

Someone earlier in the comments mentioned that the set itself doesn't "look Lego" and I completely agree. The house itself is oversized, blocky, and lacks detail. It seems infinitely more likely Lego would've gone the route of Arkham Asylum 10937 and had the back open to allow access to the rooms and keep the piece count to a reasonable amount.

There are other things that jump out at me... the awkward car design, the plants (blocky, and floating without a planter / garden), the way a baseplate is visible beneath the garage but not the house...

I just don't buy it.

I can understand why some think this is bland, but it does look pretty accurate to the show. Most of the fun will probably be what is inside (I see the piano in one window.) The car looks fine, but I don't expect it will hold the whole family and certainly don't see how anyone could think it looks like a 90's Town car (those were just 4 studs wide). I might have preferred Marge's station wagon over Homer's car, but maybe I can make one myself (along with The Homer).

I still love the show and will have to get this as soon as it goes on sale. Maybe if this sells well we can get an entire Simpsons theme. As I understand they just have this set and the minifigure series planned for the Simpsons. Can't wait to see what other characters are in that (after the obvious reuse of most from this set).

But I agree, my gut says that this is fake and, even though I like it, I felt lego wouldn't go in the direction of a dollhouse, swinging open. I thought they would do modular style.

The box art is definitely unfinished, just look at the Simpsons logo, without any colour or characteristic clouds in the background.

I think Lego went the direction of a "swing open" house because it offers much more playability for children as opposed to a modular one...

@peterlmorris, you clearly missed the first half a dozen rounds of this whole saga. It happened a while back to say the least! ;)

I think the show has certainly gone way downhill, but I still buckle at the good episodes.

The set is ridiculously amazing. It's like an AFOL MOC, the way it's just so unlimited in size and detail. Still don't like the heads but understand why they were used.
The rooms are not in the correct places, there's no stairs and the interior walls are not the correct colours, but I'm blown away by the fact they've managed to fit in almost every room in the house. There also appears to be tiled floors everywhere, and my favourite part: solid doors not in white! There seems to be pretty much all the key pieces of furniture, and I love that the rooms all connect properly and have doors and a hallway between them.
I can't sing this enough praise, I don't think it's possible to make a better Lego representation of this house.

It has slightly less parts than the £150 Town Hall, so even though it's licensed I can't see this going over £200.

@popo123, I don't think they needed to included every single room in the house. Consider the Bag End model from the Hobbit. There were many rooms in Bilbo's house that were omitted to make it a more compact, practical set.

This Simpson house still feels "off" to me. Maybe it's because it's only a prototype, but I'm going to remain skeptical until I hear an official announcement from Lego.

This set is just.... can't belive they've FINALLY made it.

This is highly inaccurate..I just watched season 3 last night with my daughter since I showed her this picture from Eurobricks. The front step is only one step high, not two...I guess unless their house changed since 1992, they should make that change.

As for the rest. I'm still torn. It looks decent, but rather boring at the same time. The size is impressive for sure. I'll wait for final judgment after I see the innards.

The figures are still not a big hit with me, so we'll see how the CMF look.

Haven't wanted a set this much since I first set eyes on the VW camper van!
