Star Wars Advent Calendar - Day 21

Emperor Palpatine appeared on day twenty and looked wonderfully festive, although his jumper somewhat lessened the Sith Lord's sinister aura, unsurprisingly!
Something to restore that sense of majesty may be useful today...
Palpatine's black throne suffices in that regard. LEGO has produced several renditions of the Emperor's throne and this example makes splendid use of 1x1 double slopes for the armrests, capturing their angular shape from the movie, like the throne in 75352 Emperor's Throne Room. However, the backrest is relatively simple, as expected of an Advent Calendar model.
Nevertheless, the Emperor fits perfectly in his chair, aided partly by the lack of a fabric cape, which has caused problems in the past. In fact, the back of the throne is attached using clips and can even be adjusted, for improved lumbar support!
Overall - The throne is a nice companion for Emperor Palpatine, who sits very comfortably here.

Palpatine: Good chair, good chair. Nice lumbar support. Great view of ( turns his chair to the window ) utter blackness. Oh for... I'm right under the air conditioning vent and the chair's bolted to the floor?!? Who's the braniac-- Hey, Crayola! ( a guard comes ) Help me shut this vent. Yeah. Reach up there with your Staff of Ra and-- ( the vent falls of and more air comes out ) Hey, Wanna see me tempt fate? COULD THIS DAY GET ANY WORSE?!? I did it ironically so I think I'm safe.

Palpatine: What are you doing?! No! Put Me Down! (Gets tossed down a shaft by Vader.) AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
Anyway, would highly recommend beefing the chair up with a 1x1 round plate and a 2x2 round jumper plate to get it more screen accurate. Palpatine can't swivel in the chair without them.

Unintentional, I'm sure, but the pics make it look like a hoverchair.
Those handrests look surprisingly accurate
My son pointed out that it reclines like a beach chair, and now I wish I had 75171 to add it to.

Ooooh, it even reclines, that's how you know it's an -Emperor's- chair!
My son decided to make a little video of the Emperor getting drunk and reclining the chair upon opening this one.
Day 21 ranking:
5. Marvel - all oter ACs did a better job of the Christmas table.
4. SW - I actually like the chair and the clever use of parts
3. Friends - "Choo choo!" good, big train angine that should run on the 4-wise tracks. Means, we'll get the cars next days =/
2. City - Nice to see Mrs. keeps herself in shape, presumable on snowy roof slopes
1. HP - Malfoy + Ushanka = awesome!

I think the survivability rate was slightly improved in the Death Star trench. Five vehicles actually got out in operable condition. These would be Luke's X-Wing, Wedge's X-Wing, an unidentified Y-Wing seen flying home in formation, the Millennium Falcon, and what was left of Vader's TIE Advanced. Compare that to the Boonta Eve Classic, where _ONE_ podracer made it across the finish line, and one never even got off the starting line.

Those angled armrests always seemed so impractical, I would always be laying things on them and having them fall off.
